So I was satisfied with the look of my nails. But when I asked her to make them about a quarter inch shorter, she ignored my request. I’m not a mean person, so I didn’t freak or anything. But my nails are longer than how I would have liked. And when I got there, I could tell they were talking about something about my hands because they kept pointing at them and laughing when I got there. No clue why, but made me uncomfortable. Right when I left the saloon, I could already see one of the nail chipping very bad. In 2 days, that one broke a very tiny bit by where it chipped. It’s now been 4 days, and I had already had another nail fully break. I got just regular set of acrylic, was told $ 32 for them, then was charged $ 37, came out to be about 50 cents short of $ 40. I then tipped $ 5. Haven’t seen if I can get my broken nails fixed for free yet, or if they will make me pay since they close before I get off work tonight. Overall disappointed with my experience.

Favorite place to get my eyebrows waxed in Cedar Rapids. Best pricing I’m aware of in the area, the girls always get you in ASAP and are always friendly.

I got acrylics and they didn’t do as much as they should have. She didn’t do anything about my cuticles she just shaved down my nail and put the acrylic on, which the acrylic is around my nail too but she didn’t clean it off. 3 of my nail skins ripped due to her pushing so hard to get it unstuck from the acrylics. She didn’t give me lotion but the good thing is that my nails look decent. I will not be coming back here.

I got a gel manicure yesterday at Hollywood. I asked if the sample colors on the«wheels» were OPI and the technician said«Yes but when she brought out the color it was some other brand I had never heard of(unless it was transfered to another bottle). I had to ask twice to have my nails cut and they are still too long.(my nails grow really fast, they always have to get cut or it drives me nuts.) My nails have a disjointed color but the next technician as of it was the color itself not the brand, or previous technician — so I will just change it out, no biggie. It was odd how the technician stopped with my manicure right before the polishing, went to do a pedicure with someone else and then the other tech had to stop with her manicure to finish mine? I felt bad for the other woman who had to wait, but then again I was not even sure what was going on. All I can think of is that the first technician had an appointment with the pedicure lady? It’s okay… nice enough people, and other customers. I am from out of town so don’t take this too seriously… I have not had a chance to try them again.

I must say, I agree — some of the reviews are a bit harsh. This is far from the cleanest nail salon I’ve been to, but far from the dirtiest too and I’ve visited all sorts throughout different parts of the Midwest. Given the other reviews I was watching the process between clients and it did appear that tools were properly sanitized. Mostly. Better for a quick service than a spa-like experience — almost an assembly line-type process which means multiple people might work on your nails and also that you likely won’t have to wait. I was expecting the service itself to take a shorter amount of time given the setup but it actually took quite a while. This is part of the trade off — get in right away, but you might have to wait a bit for a new technician during the service. Good selection of colors, room for lots of people at once, average price, no frills, and average(maybe slightly below) level of cleanliness. For the price, convenience, selection, and quality I would recommend for your everyday nail maintenance — but not if you’re looking to be pampered at the spa.

I was looking to get my daughters(ages 7, 5&4) manicures and possibly fun holiday nail art. They got us right in, pampered the girls and surprised me with their awesome hand painted nail art. Very reasonably priced and the girls are already looking forward to returning.

I have read some of the reviews and am surprised by the person saying it was awful. I have gone there for some time as I follow a particular person that works at Hollywood nails. I just happened to read the reviews as I was looking on line for their hours. The person that said their manicure only lasted 3 days may not be practicing the required things to keep a manicure or shellac lasting longer, such as hand saver gloves when hands are immersed in water. I do this, my last shellac was 2.5 weeks ago and it was still good but was grown out and i neded a fresh shellac when I went in this morning. I was in first thing this morning. I sat in the pedicure chair and observed the place as I wanted to look at it through the eyes of a person writing a review. All the pedicure stations were ready to go. Each station had a set of rolling storage shelves and seat. All the storage shelves were supplied with the same materials and all lined up in an identical manner, including a container of Barbasol. Will it be like that at the end of a busy day, probably not but will be starting the next morning. they were very, very very busy by the time I time I left. All pedicure chairs were filled including the two children’s chairs(birthday pedicure for twins). Could the floors look cleaner… yes, but if you look, it is from all the black rollers on the chairs. One thing I really like, I prefer my manicure and Pedicure separately, Hollywood nails respects that. They do not have someone standing next to you giving you a manicure as you are trying to enjoy a pedicure. I did mention to one of the younger techs about the review. She is computer savvy. I said she may want to bring the reviews to the owners attention to see her location through others eyes and make any needed improvements. As long as my nail tech is there, I will be there.

This place is horrible. Seriously dirty, old and gross. The tools were disgusting and I’m surprised I didn’t get an infection from them. I went in for a mani/pedi and they were both done by people who clearly didn’t know what they were doing or didn’t care. The girl that did my nails didn’t pay attention to what she was doing the entire time and it looked like a 5 year old did my nails. The kid that did my toes paid attention but clearly wasn’t trained or experienced to do a smooth pedicure. 40 dollars went straight down the drain.

I don’t know what nail salon the other people went to but this place is awful. No base coat was applied, the pedicure water was cold, the floors and tools were dirty, and the polish was old. Yuck. The people who work there are nice, that’s true, but a manicure should last longer than 3 days, one should not have to have polish outside their nail bed, and cuticles should be trimmed and rough heels left with no dragging skin after the pedicure.

Wonderful! After a year of searching for a nail place, I finally found one I love. My toes look great, my eyebrows look awesome and I am out of here, with tip for $ 40! They made a long-time customer today!

It’s a big place, so they’ll get you in quickly. It’s inexpensive, but they do a nice, thorough job on your manicures and pedicures, and have a good selection of polish colors. The workers are nice(in English, that is!). The mother lady that seats you is kind of curt and demanding, but many Vietnamese mothers are without meaning to be. Overall, a good value.
