I visited LensCrafters and purchased a pair prescription safety glasses for work. I wanted the type with bi-focals on the top and the bottom of the lens and was told that I could have them in the frames I wanted. I paid and they told me that they would be ready in an hour. An hour later they bring out the glasses and they only have the bi-focal in the bottom. The associate apologizes and says that they will have to be special ordered. I tell them to go ahead. They called the house the next day at 3:30PM. Fortunately I was home early. They pretty much demanded that I pay an extra $ 35.00 over the phone before they will order the glasses that I already asked them to make. I don’t mind that the glasses were made wrong the first time, that sort of thing happens. But to delay ordering my glasses for 1 business day when I have already paid $ 350.00 just to wring another $ 35.00 out of me over the phone is kind of bogus. Just make the frikken glasses. I am going to buy them. I already gave you a pile of cash. For crying out loud you can trust for the $ 35.00. I am trusting you with my $ 350.00. So after giving them my CC# for the $ 35.00 I ask if the manager is there and can I speak to him/her. The associate say sure, no problem and puts me on hold. They come back on the line a few minutes later and tell me that the manager has left for the day and would I like for them to call me back? This is clearly shenanigans. Every employee knows exactly when the boss goes home. The manager is too chicken to actually deal with a customer who is upset and instead chooses to «call back» at some point in time when they know that the customer will probably be at work. While lenscrafters has a good selection of frames and can make simple prescriptions in an hour sometimes, you should avoid them if you need you glasses to be correctly made with a minimal chance of bogus charges and managerial shenanigans.
