I would say from the parking lot it may seem a little scary lol but once you are inside it’s definitely friendly. I’ve have been to Nicks for breakfast and lunch. I’ve had good and bad service. The place is clean which in my book is always a plus! The food is good and the prices are great! Pizza and burgers are wonderful and breakfast is pretty good also. They employee great cooks. I would give them a hire rating but I have had a few rude servers. Still it’s definitely worth stoping in or getting take out. I will be back;)

We had business in the neighborhood Saturday and asked a local for a good place to eat and he recommended Nick’s. I’m not sure I would have been comfortable going alone, but, with my husband along, it was OK. We were served quickly. They have Bud Light on draft so I was happy. My husband ordered the cod and fries basket. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger. My burger was good. His fish was dripping grease. We blotted it as best we could with paper napkins, but he ended up peeling off the batter and eating the fish like that. The food was OK; service was good; prices reasonable, but I don’t think we’d go back even if in the neighborhood.

When I’m not at work, I’m almost always with my three year-old. When I’m not with my three year-old, I’m probably trying to grocery shop, or mow the lawn. So, I don’t get a lot of chances to grab a burger and a bourbon at a place with a sign on the door telling patrons not to bring in weapons. The little man was at a birthday party. So, I decided to read up on places to eat. The reviews said that this place makes their burgers from scratch, and has excellent waffle fries. So, I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with waffle fries. Both were well above average. The burger was bigger than what you typically find at bars, and a tiny bit greasier than what you typically get at restaurants, but it was much juicier, which is a good trade in my book. The bacon was flat out perfect. You can’t make bacon any better. If I were going to offer one criticism, it would be that a burger this good should be matched with a decent cheddar, or a colby jack. This one had orange American. It didn’t detract from the burger. It just didn’t add to it. The fries were also excellent. They weren’t greasy at all, which really allowed the potato taste to come through. The amount of salt was correct, but not even. They were still very good fries, though. I would definitely recommend this burger and fry combo to anyone who’s in the area.

I wanted a good, real burger so on the recommendation of a co-worker I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with fries to go. By the time I got to there, a 5 minute drive, the burger was hot and ready. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was very relaxed and clean, and the food was GREAT! The burger came with all the fixins, was hot, juicy and made with fresh ground beef, the bun was buttery and toasted and the waffle fries were amazing. Great price too, only about 8 bucks. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a fast, filling and fabulous lunch or dinner! :-)

The old Chuck’s(Chuck & Dales) is now Nick’s Bar & Grill. They’ve updated the menu with some new recipes. Their ads say they grind their own hamburger. That would be a big upgrade from the frozen patties Chuck’s used to serve. We’ve had the pizza twice and I think its improved with the new owner, although I’m not a fan of the dry seasoning they sprinkle over the top as it dominates the flavor of the pizza. The thin crust is plenty crispy and well topped. The soft breadsticks are awesome. They actually put them in the fryer for a short time to finish them, but not at all greasy. Get the pizza special, a 16″ two-topping, with breadsticks and a full size pitcher of beer or pop for $ 22. We hope to try the burgers next time.
