Ryan’s

Say what you want about Ryan’s (food trough, trailer park cafeteria, glutton’s galleria, etc.) but they have the best salad bar I’ve ever had. Excellent variety and very fresh. Otherwise, it’s mediocre down home cooking done in vast quantities.

$ 65 for 4 adults and 3 kids and the food was horrific. The salad bar items were warm and melting. The hot items all had a hard crust on them. All of the silverware and cups had dried food on them and the used plates on our table weren’t taken away until we were leaving. The cashier was snarky and acted like taking our payment was a chore. The busser introduced herself as a server which, being a real server myself, was laughable especially since all she did was clear dirty plates when we were already walking out the door. None of either the hot or cold food was being kept at correct temperatures. This place is food borne illness central.

I really used to like Ryan’s but the last few visits have been terrible. The experience today sums it all up.
First, it took forever to get through the line. The lady running the cash register was slow and didn’t seem too enthused to be there.
The food was not good. Worst of all, many of the dishes had run out, some never being replaced during my visit. What I did eat was pretty bad — other than the chicken which was tasty. The macaroni and cheese was runny and flavorless. I would have loved to try the orange chicken but it was empty until I was leaving. The salad bar was filthy and looked like a tornado went through it. The broccoli salad nearly made me throw up — it tasted gross!
I did not tip the waitress. Why? There were plates all my table the place but nobody took care of them. I did not even know who she was!
I normally like Ryans — the one in East Moline is excellent. But this one is a different story. The food and service were awful today. Coupon or not, I’m not planning to go back. This location has really gone downhill. It will be interesting to see if this review disappears — like others have.

The food was actually pretty good. I was put off by all of the negative reviews, but decided to try it anyway. Even though it was lunchtime they charged me the dinner rate and when I tried to explain to the girl that she was making a mistake she just didn’t get it. I finally just paid the bill as I had people with me and the cashier wasn’t smart enough to «get it».

The food here is not good. It is cold, and the place is dirty. The staff isn’t attentive at all. If you’re a normal, regular, contributing member of society, you will not want to be hanging out with the people that frequent this establishment. It’s bad. Believe me. I was extremely uncomfortable during the entire trip.

Everything was pretty good.

Buffet, Buffet, Buffet.
It used to be decent when it first opened.
Gave it several other chances, with disappointments, each time on the food, staff, and other customers.
Will never go there again. Sorry.
