Service is great, chicken cuts have change since the last time I came here, for the better. I really enjoyed the paneer appetizer on the skillet. The green chutney is ridiculously refreshing with a little spiciness!

Delicious indian food, it’s definitely the best in the area and they have awesome vegan and vegetarian options. Baingan Bartha is particularly good and their non is very tasty! Service is good and the atmosphere is relaxed and inviting.

They have a lunch buffet, so if you’re not familiar with Indian food, you can try several different things. They also have a full menu that you can order from which has many more items that are not featured on the buffet. The food is very good and the service is always spot on.

Extremely good food! Great service, great food, everything perfect. The only thing I can say is to watch out for is spiciness, If you ask for medium you’ll get a mild and a hot depending on what you get.

The atmosphere is calm and quiet, the décor is beautiful, and the food really is a taste of India!!! We had the buffet at lunch and got to taste a little bit of everything. I could not find something that didn’t taste great! Really wonderful place!

Great Indian food, solid service, very helpful. I ordered to-go while at a nearby hotel. The staff provided plates, napkins and utensils. They also were able to provide Lassi to go, which was a pleasant surprise.

This place is LEGIT! A very rare place! Food was absolutely fantastic! We got the butter chicken and aloo something that had potatoes and peas that was incredible! Naan was great! The atmosphere of the place was fantastic! Service was excellent! Unlike any other Indian restaurant we have been to in Iowa city or Des Moines! Staff was just great! If you like or passing by the area this a must stop place!

One of the best restaurants in Cedar Rapids, and hands down the best Indian restaurant. All of their dishes are delicious and consistently well made. The staff are incredible and after a few visits will remember your face. I have never had a bad experience here which is rare anywhere. My favorites here are the masala, butter chicken, and korma.

I can only speak of the buffet. I was visiting Cedar Rapids from Colorado & was craving my favorite Indian buffet from home… but I was in CR so I picked this place due to the high ratings. WHATISWRONG w/UR TASTEBUDSCR??? I know your a small town… maybe u never had a taste of REAL Indian food? :-\ This was gross the worst Indian food I’ve ever ate! And I’ve had a LOT of Indian food, from restaurants & home made… in fact I cook several Indian dishes myself! The butter/masala chicken was so SWEET like it had sugar added… YUCK. Then I found a long kinda light colored hair in my food!!! THAT’S SOGROSS! The naan & mango pudding were good… if ur only coming for that you may be ok. I hate to write bad reviews the staff seemed nice… but come on guys if ur cooking peoples food wear hair nets! I’m always gona keep it real, tell it how it is we ALL have the right to know the truth! I would NEVER come here again not even for free!

Sweet Baby Jesus! This place is incredible. I don’t care about the service or the décor or the location, the food is absolutely astounding. I live in a metro with 2 million people and it’s VERY hard to find Indian cuisine that is this flavorful, perfectly cooked and perfectly spiced. I will visit this place every time I get to CR. Appreciate what you have CR. Till next time.

When we were visiting cedar rapids for a day for my husbands job, I immediately turned to Unilocal to find good places to eat. This place showed up with such great reviews I told my husband we should go. We both hesitated a little since we weren’t sure if Indian would be great in such a small town in the middle of Iowa but we decided to go for it. And I am glad we did because it was delicious, well priced, had great service and good ambience… this place had it all. Their Tikka Masala had a really great flavor profile and the naan was delicious too. Our server was super friendly and helpful and we really enjoyed the whole experience. My only complaint was that the sparkling wine split was very flat and seemed old. But hey, can’t win ‘em all!

Yuuuum. Total treat finding this place. I’ve been living off Chipotle and Jimmy Johns while in town for work. Try the butter chicken, aloo goobi, and the garlic naan. Your tummy will be disappointed that it wasn’t able to eat ALL the food!

May be because the options for Indian food are limited in NE Iowa or may be they are genuinely good. I enjoyed their food very much. I had visited only once so limited experience. The place is huge and there is ample sitting for couples and groups alike. The wait staff is courteous and they seemed very knowledgeable about the food choices. I had their Paneer chili, which is an indian-south asian fusion dish made with mixed spices from both cuisines. They made it very good. Naan and Roti are freshly made and delicious. Rice could have been better but overall delicious food. Definitely recommend for someone looking for some delicious indian food in the area.

I’m moving to Miami tomorrow and wanted my last dinner to be here. The lunch buffet is such a good deal that I’d forgotten how important it is to explore the full menu, and not just because you can order it spicy. Some recommendations I have to make: Goan Fish Curry. Just discovered this one last week, but it might overtake my reining favorite, which is… Vegetable Kurma. It works well with any meat, but I prefer the vege crunch. It has a rich and creamy sauce with a subtle sweetness that makes it the best. I order this as a second main dish every time while exploring the menu, so I get leftovers and a reliably awesome experience. The Mulligatawny soup is good, though not outstanding, but I have found an appetizer replacement in… Vegetable Paddies in Chick Pea Curry with yogurt and cilantro. I forgot the menu name, but this is tasty. Be sure to have the Chai tea. One cup before, with a refill after to help settle everything(while typing up your review), along with… Mango Kulfi, which is somehow creamy while having a texture like shaved ice. Indian food in general is in my top three along with Thai and Sushi, and this place is as good as Indian I can remember from Francisco, D.C., Miami and London. Check it out. You’re lucky to have it around.

My father-in-law had had very limited Indian cuisine so it was wonderful for him to try small portions of the Sunday buffet. All of the food we tried was fantastic. The paneer was melt-in-your-mouth perfect! The curry’y were delicious, on the very mild side. The staff was friendly and attentive — not an empty soda or water glass the whole meal. Will defiantly come back when I’m Cedar Rpadis again.

We recently moved to Cedar Rapids and this place became one of our favorite places. My husband and I dine here frequently. We are both vegeterians and enjoy Indian culture and food. Food is delicious. Service is very nice. I highly recommend Taste of India. Stop by and breath the spices and enjoy!

Incredible Indian food in the Midwest. Big selection and nice atmosphere(for being in a strip mall). Naan variety basket is delicious with any meal. The freshly squeezed juice is really good too. Lamb and chicken are really tender and the sauces must be simmering all day to develop the perfect flavor. Always ask for yogurt sauce with anything you get(comes with the Briani rice entrées) Price is right on point for the quality and great service! Bar is usually wide open to hang out and enjoy a Thai, American, or Indian beer and watch cricket. Definitely a favorite place to go.

Really nice décor with exceptional food quality. I had the mulligatawny soup and chicken vindaloo. I am a seasoned traveller and am always on the lookout for a nice Indian restaurant. Vindaloo is a go-to item for me when I’m at a new place. The chicken was perfectly cooked(many times, the chicken is giant chunks, overdone and dry). The sauce was great, too. I ordered it spicy and was happy they didn’t hold back.(I’m doing my best to hold back the waterfall trying to come out of my nose). The only thing preventing a five star is that I kinda wish the menu was a little more extensive, but they did have pretty good descriptions. I would like to only knock down half a star, but Unilocal doesn’t allow that. I will definitely come back next time I’m in town!
