Really disappointed. Drove an hour and a half(in the snow) to use our groupon for a tasting, arrived, and there was a post-it on the door saying they were only doing wine by the glass. We went in to ask if they would honor our groupon and the woman working said they were just too busy. Nothing on their website and no notice when I called that this would be the case. Really disappointed and will not recommend this place to anyone.

I was extremely disappointed in our experience here. We had a groupon for a wine and chocolate pairing and there were going to be 6 of us so I made sure to call and let them know the exact time and date we’d be coming since it’s a big group. When we arrived they had no idea we were coming and since it was a holiday weren’t too happy about it… The owner ended up accommodating us and pulling together some chairs so at least 4 of us could sit and the other 2 stood until 2 more chairs opened up. There was nothing«paired» about this. First off you get 4 tastes of wine and 2 chocolates so you really can’t call that a pairing. Second the chocolates say which type of wine they might go with aka«Pinot noir» or «merlot» but not to the exact wine on the menu. In fact they didn’t even have a Pinot noir available! The part that really bugged all of us was that they would just pour the wine into our already used glass. No rinsing at all. When you’re going from red to white this is a huge problem. They seemed irritated that we kept asking them to rinse our glasses instead of just accepting the wine as poured. Personally I am a red wine fan and a drier wine at that so my selection was extremely limited with their current menu. There were only about 6 reds and one was a port and another a very sweet dessert red wine. From what I tried there was only really one that I liked. Overall the experience was lacking. I won’t be back and do not recommend to even try it out.

Not bad. Very small– and I was lucky to hit it while their downtime. Huge selection. And that’s a big part of it. If you know, what you like, or have a good guidance– it can be perfect. Most wines are not made by this winery. And no, they don’t have a vineyard. If they make wine, they use grapes from the market or juices. And this was a turn off for me. I’d rather drink one of these«typical for the area» wines, than the fancy kind. The fancy ones I can get in stores. Sorry. I felt the prices were rather steep and I mentioned it while my tasting. It seemed that the tag was meant for the in-consuming rather, than for taking in home with you. And this place resembled a regular store way too much, to price their wines at the restaurant level. Discouraging rather, if you’re planning on wine shopping. And most these you can buy in stores or online for a fraction of the money. Also, the tasting is not complimentary. And they have my full support with that: the free booze tends to attract the wrong kind of people. I received a very good service, accompanied by a nice conversation. A recommendation for this one amazing wine(not made by the winery, but imported from Spain), was very useful– it is a splendid wine. I might be back for a tasting or a glass of wine when I am in the area.

They have a decent selection of wines to chose from and the price is reasonable. The biggest downside to this place is the seating. It looks like a house(or like it was a home at one time) and so it is kind of cramped inside if there’s a lot of people(like there usually is on the weekends). When we went, we didn’t get much attention because there was 1 guy running it all and he was so frazzled, I don’t think he even knew what was going on some times. We will probably give it another chance if we’re out that way again but we’re not going to be disappointed if we don’t make it back.

We did the wine and chocolate tasting. It included 5 tastings of wine and 3 chocolate. Servers and owners were congenial and so helpful and knowledgeable. The ambiance was warm and so welcoming. We’ll be back for sure.

Fun place on the north end of downtown Cedarburg! The wine tastings are half off during the week. Wine tastings consist of 4 different samplings. Everything I tried was delicious! According the server, the Chiselled Grape does not carry the typical sweet wines. However, there are wines that would satisfy all on the menu. Wine can also be purchased by the glass and bottle. Bottles can be taken home or opened and consumed at the tasting room. They have very classy seating inside as well seating on the porch and several tables outside in the grass. This is a fun place to visit if you like wines and have never been to a tasting room and also would be a great place to entertain guests. I learned a lot about the Chiselled Grape wines and felt it was very reasonably priced for the experience. I defiintiely recommend visiting this tasting room!

Very disappointed. Stopped in after touring the Cedar Creek Winery across the street. Very disorganized. Did not have the same server between samples. Waited at least 10 to 15 minutes between samples. We were seated in the«gold room» and felt like we had been forgotten the entire time. Will not be returning!!!

Excellent find in quiet Cedarburg!!! Amazing selection, awesome service. We were delighted to find an abundance of dry reds, excellent quality that you’d expect at a wine bar in Chicago. Four(generous) tastings(and the promise of more if you don’t find one you like) for $ 5 is more than worth it. Reasonably priced bottles of $ 10 – 20 make it easy to take some home. And the staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and entertaining. Definitely make time on your next visit to stop in and check out the Chiseled Grape!

What a fun find on a random drive through Oz. county! The guy and I stopped here and we had a very generous wine tasting. It was free to! unheard of. The wine itself wasnt really anything I would write home about but it wasnt boring or unremarkable. We did get a bottle to go a Zin. The thing i liked was the building itselfs and the brightly painted walls. It was classy, and elegant in the countryside. I will say this the dessert wine was really good it was a peach based wine very yummy. I will try to go back again in the future drink some wine in there wine garden out front. yep. FUNFIND.

Most people scoff at the idea of wine in Wisconsin. This fairly new winery in Grafton will certainly dispel all feelings of ill, well, unless you overindulge. The winery set up shop in an old school house building in Grafton, Wisconsin. Due to regulations on signage, the building does not have a large sign to direct you in. Instead, look for the large«Open» flag on the corner of the lawn. There are bistro tables and chairs waiting for you inside or an intimate arrangement of armchairs around a coffee table. For those driving or underage, they do have some non-alcoholic beverages for purchase on site as well. Within the past couple of weeks Chiseled Grape added several new wines to their lineup(as well as sold out of a few of my favorites like the 2005 Barbera). I had an opportunity to sample them yesterday and that is what earned them the extra star in my book. Not only did I have a glass at the winery, I also came home with three bottles. They now have a 2011 Maréchal Foch Reserve. The grapes used in the bottle I sampled were grown in River Hills near Glendale, Wisconsin. It is one of my favorite cold weather grapes. This bottle was full-bodied and very rich. The 2008 Nebbiolo Blue was spicy and delicious as well with notes of oak. The 2010 Merlot’s peppery flavors will accompany something herby and roasted in the very near future. My glass of the night: 2010 Cabernet Franc. It was light and peppery/spicy that was a great accompaniment to conversation with a friend. Tasting Details: 4 complimentary tastings and $ 6.00 per glass. I feel they pour generously as well. Bottles of wine are a great value here as well. They have weekly specials($ 2.00 off per bottle) and quantity discounts. The average bottle price for the wines I enjoy is approximately $ 12.00 per bottle but tastes MUCH more luxurious than the connotation of the price point. On several occasions the owner has also been in house. He has always been friendly and gracious, along with the rest of the staff. This is certainly a great place to stop when in the Land of Oz(aukee) county. Other items of note: — The parking lot is VERY tiny but there is plenty of street parking. If you opt for the lot, do yourself a favor and back into a spot for easy exit. — If you plan for a large group or tasting, I recommend calling ahead. They do reserve the space for parties and have patio space available in the summer. They typically have only one or two staff members available to assist, so the heads up would help them plan to serve you better.
