My heart is won. I love this place. Finally picked up a set of geode book ends I’ve been dreaming about for years. I feel like now I’m one more step to «making it» in life.
Also the staff is extremely friendly.
Any reason to go to Cedarburg is a good one to me, but stopping here is the icing on the cake.

The Gem Shop in Cedarburg is a rock shop and lapidary that specializes in agates and jaspers. They do it all, from mining to cutting and polishing. A wide assortment of stones from around the world await your visit. Inside the store, from one bin to the next, eye candy abounds. Stones can be made into jewelry, or there is plenty of jewelry already on display.
If you prefer, barrels of raw materials, rocks and stones abound. You’re invited to snoop around and pick your rock. The collection includes a petrified log that came from Arizona’s Petrified Forest before the area became a national park.
Eugene Mueller is the president, he’s been a lapidary and miner for almost 60 years. He does much of the mining for the store and maintains a blog that describes his adventures. (You can find it via link from the store’s website.)
There is great beauty in nature, if you know where to look for it. These folks know where to look and how to find it, so all you have to know is how to find Cedarburg.
