*******CLOSED!!!****** Hardly surprising, if you read my last review and several others you will not be be shocked to learn this place closed it’s doors. Don’t know exactly when, but it is gone. It is a shame and I am always sorry when a restaurant doesn’t succeed, but other restaurants should read and learn from this place’s mistakes.

Went with friends last night to drink margaritas and chow down with great company. I’m borderline 4 because my meal the steak with poblano pepper and queso fresco was pretty dang good. We had the fresh made guacamole which was pretty good. However, although the waiter at least smiled it took quite a long time to get water then drinks maybe 15 min after we sat down. I hate to sound critical because I had a great time with my friends but this was not happy hour. For what they charge I just don’t see the value. I think they do happy hour(at the bar) very well. But otherwise, a few servers and bartenders must have not shown up. The margs were ok but not $ 12 quality margs. I must say the chocolate brownie looked great. For groups, dates or just hanging out, I’d recommend happy hour not regular dinner.

First of all, this review is strictly for happy hour… but what a rockin’ happy hour it is! Secondly, I don’t really have a secondly, just felt that I needed to say that. I am not sure why these reviews are all so mediocre. It was awesome– and believe me, we are experts. Happy hour runs M-F until 7:00. Yes, 7:00. Yea! There are $ 5 margs, and $ 4.25 house wines, and I believe $ 4 drafts. The margs are solid. Our bartender, Tyler, immediately knew we were«new» and introduced himself and was just plain awesome. The bar menu is all half off! We had ceviche for $ 4.50! It was a big portion and the fish was fresh. A little unorthodox with olives and capers also in it, but it was good. We also had tuna tacos that were STUFFED with fresh ahi. Absolutely amazing. Again– like $ 5 or something absurd. We finished the night with steak nachos. They are individual chips and I wasn’t fond of the cheese used, but the steak was smoky and flavorful– so good. Given that it’s just down the street from us, we will be back again and again. It’s our new favorite hh spot. Definitely give it a try! Especially if you’re in the mood for happy hour. Seriously.

Yet one more place on the Streets of Southglenn crossed of my «to do» list. My mom and I had a hankering for some Mexican the other day, and I remembered seeing this spot so we decided to give it a try. It was Saturday afternoon, we walked into one the biggest restaurants we’d ever seen. The entire time we were here we kept looking around saying«This place is huge». We were greeted and seated immediately and promptly presented with waters and chips and salsa. They bring two types, the mild and the spicy. I found the spicy to be no more so than the mild, to be honest. They were obviously different recipes with distinctive flavors, and the latter was actually served warm while the mild was chilled. But I really didn’t think there was any heat to either, which was disappointing.(If you’ve read my reviews, you know I like it HOT!) We also tried the guacamole at the suggestion of our server, and this more than made up for the salsa. It was made at the table with lime juice, tomatoes, jalapenos, cilantro and red onion, and I think garlic powder. It was chunky and flavorful. For lunch mom ordered a chili relleno and I had the mole enchilada. The former was a massive poblano that was lightly fried and stuffed with very tender ground beef, walnuts and raisins. We both thought it was great, but would have been better without the raisins. The mole sauce on my enchilada was very nice, but again it was described on the menu as spicy, and again it fell short of this description. I was a little disappointed that I only received one with a side of rice and some zucchini(which was delicious, by the way.) For the price I would have appreciated a bigger entrée. The house margarita is quite good, and the service was pretty good. It’s gourmet Mexican food, I like it a little more traditional, but I’d be willing to come back.

This may sound crazy, but I’m a fan of Cantina Laredo because of the great South Glenn location and the wonderful patio and not so much because of the food. Don’t get me wrong they do many food items really well. For example, I love their warm chips & salsa, the table-side guacamole, the beef fajitas, and the sizzling apple pie will rock your world. The upscale restaurant with its contemporary interior and nice finishes is really a great place to relax or go with a small group. They have a wonderful outdoor patio with lovely views of the South Glenn’s gardens & fountain. There is also a indoor patio that is air conditioned, a hip contemporary bar, and classy dining room inside. Cantina caters to a higher end clientele and on the weekends is also a fun place to people watch. Unfortunately, during our last two visits some of the food has not been up to par. Last time in my wife ordered the Brisket Tacos and they were so greasy she could not eat them and on the previous visit she ordered the Pescado Del Dia and was served Red Snapper that was so tough she could not cut it with a knife. On both occasions we sent the items back and the manager came out, adjusted our check, apologized profusely, and offered us a free dessert. Unfortunately, a restaurant of this caliber needs to consistently get everything right or make changes in the kitchen. Service is very good, but one word to the wise. When it comes to mixed drinks, the bar frequently seems to get confused about glass size, type of alcohol, and pricing. Maybe it is because they are busy or maybe they are doing it intentionally I don’t know. Be very clear with the wait staff exactly which drink you are ordering and check your bill for accuracy.

Great service, great specials and okay menu! The food is fresh, the drinks are poured well and the menu is geared more to the health conscious mexican foodie. With all this in mind, one must also consider the fact there is nothing authintic about this joint and its wayyyy more polished(aka corporate) than any mexian place ever should be. Something to keep in mind is the half off fajitas on Sunday and Monday and the dollar Del Norte(local) draws on Monday as well.

IT’S A TRAP! We are sitting in the bar right now. They advertise three dollar margaritas and even have $ 3 casa ritas on their happy hour menu but don’t tell you, and nowhere is it printed, that that price is for the small size. Also, their bartenders don’t ask you if you want small or regular. So, you get the bill and it’s four dollars more than you thought it would be. We were going to have another round, and now we are not. This, ladies and gentlemen, is called a «bait and switch». As for the quality, if Taco Bell made margaritas… We are going to turn in our pagers and go elsewhere less they sell us a $ 5 taco and actually charge us $ 10.

One of my new favorite Mexican restaurants in town! The margaritas are awesome and the food is fresh, attractive, & flavorful! The service is also great — very friendly and knowledgeable. Sunday is fajita day — 50% off fajitas! My personal favorites are the spinach enchiladas and the rellenos!

We were in the mood for Mexican… and wanted to try something new. SO glad we made a reservation because the wait was about 45 minutes! Seated early in fact, we were settled into an oversize booth with 2 types of salsas and fresh tortilla chips. Both sauces were delicious– one warmed up and the other was a little smokier in flavor. I went for the chile relleno with ground beef, raisins and almonds and my hubby went for the carnitas tacos. Both were delicious! The mojito was cold and refreshing. Good service and we’ll definitely return — prices weren’t too shabby either.

Great service and great happy hour deals! We love the ½ price movie Tuesdays at the movie theatre in SouthGlenn. But, we’ve been disappointed on multiple occasions by Bar Louie, the bar right outside the theatre. We decided to try out Cantina Laredo this time. Fantastic! This place has fantastic $ 2 tacos. I really enjoyed the Carnitas and Brisket tacos, yum! And, $ 3 drafts during happy hour? I think we will quickly become regulars. We sat at the bar and the bartenders were fantastic, friendly and attentive. This is just an all around fab place and I will definitely be back.

I really didn’t look forward to trying this place after seeing the low ratings but it was my wife’s birthday and it’s where she wanted to go so I smiled and said ok. I honestly don’t know what the low ratings were about? This place was amazing. Great service, awesome chips and salsas. That’s right, plural, salsas cause you get a variety of different ones to try. This is gourmet Mexican so it’s not 5 buck plates of beans and rice. I got a chicken with artichoke and some amazing sauce that I could cut with my fork. A lot of gluten free choices so a friend with us had a lot to choose from. Overall a good experience. The only reason I deduct a star is the desserts was really sweet to a point of barley edible without going into a sugar coma, and the drink service kinda died off after our main course was done. However I will definitely be back!

For the life of me, I can’t understand this restaurant’s low rating. It’s definitely five stars in my book. No, it’s not authentic Mexican food from Federal. It’s classy Mexican/Southwestern food in a fancy space, and it’s fantastic. I’ve been twice in the last two weeks as we’ve hosted two sets of parents, and both visits were great. What we ordered: –complimentary chips and salsa. The chips are thin and crispy, and you get both a warm and cold salsa. I think the cold is more flavorful, but both are delicious. –guacamole made table side. Order this. Be happy. The guacamole at Scottsdale’s Cantina Laredo is what transformed me into an avocado fan. –camarones escondidos: this was my order last week. Perfectly cooked chicken, amazing chipotle wine brown sauce, delicious shrimp, and not enough of them. I would definitely recommend this. –camaron poblano asada: perfectly cooked flank steak, wrapped around a roasted pepper, wrapped around shrimp, all stuffed with spinach and cheese. What’s not to love? –cascabel ribeye: my fiancé has ordered this twice, finished it twice, and loved it twice. I stole the leftover potatoes this time around and was very glad I did. –Cantina Laredo platter: so far I’ve only tried the mole enchilada, but everything in this looked great. I inherited these leftovers(no theft involved) and I’m excited for my work lunch tomorrow. –chicken fajitas: probably the most ordinary and mediocre option, but still a solid choice. –Mexican brownie: I could leave the ice cream, but would kill for someone to bring me this brownie right now. Margaritas: the patron and pomegranate are both great choices. The mango was good, but not quite as fantastic. Fiancé loved his mojito on both visits. Service is awesome– we had Esmerelda both times, and she was great. I’d go back in a heartbeat. I’m so glad I live close!

Perhaps this establishment has changed kitchen managers since the poor reviews below. My first experience here last night with our two kids was excellent, even exciting. The waiter mixed up our guacamole right at the table. All the veggies were obviously very fresh, and the combination of ingredients was spot on. My older son and I each had the Fiesta de la Parilla — quail, chicken, ribs, very rare steak, and shrimp together with the veggies, rice and beans one gets with fajitas. My wife had shrimp and steak, and my younger son had a poblano pepper stuffed with shrimp with a rare steak draped over the top. We each found our meal to be tremendously satisfying. Good but not great house margaritas were a pleasant addition. My wife and I split a flight of three anejo tequila shots — a bit pricy but delicious. We topped our meal off by splitting a Mexican brownie and chocolate cake a la mode. Once again, a bit pricy but very tasty. When we’re in the mood for gourmet Mexican, as opposed to burritos or rellenos, we’ll happily return to this very pleasant establishment.

Cantina Laredo is one of my favorite places to go when I’m in Dallas, so when we were looking for a place to eat one afternoon down in the Centennial area I remembered that I’d seen a Cantina Laredo so off we went. They have the best salsa. I think it’s my favorite thing about going and they’re always on top of bringing you more. I’m always on the hunt for more Tex-Mex type food and Cantina hits the spot. They do have a great happy hour and even though it’s a little on the expensive side for Mex it’s worth it because the plates are huge! I just wish it were closer to home so we could go more often. The location is beautiful and the patio is great. The only problem we had was that our waitress was a little slow on getting us our check and then taking our money. But we’ll be back!

I’ve been here 3 times. The first 2 times were all right — the ceviche is pretty good and a good value appetizer. Last night, we went with our 2 kids. My wife and kids got their entrees after an appropriate wait. I figured my entrée was coming out shortly. I nibbled on my daughters fries and my wife ordered me a sample of her carnitas. The waitress came by several times and saw me eating on the side off other plates. Finally, 15 minutes later, my entrée came out. After she reminded me that my plate was very hot, probably because it was sitting under a hot lamp for 15 minutes, and asked us if we needed anything else, I told her«this is 15 minutes late». Stunned, she hesitated and said«besides that, is there anything else you need». No apologies, no offer of a discount, nothing. My wife pointed out that her sides were terribly undercooked and she promised to take that back into the kitchen. Do you think she did? Others have written about the bad service and I’m sorry that I agree. When the staff cannot roll out food at the same time and not even apologize when they have made a clear mistake, that is a unforgettable. We will be taking our future business elsewhere.

Was hesitant to try this place from some of the reviews. But was told by numerous friends how wonderful it was so figured I’d try it out. First off. YES, this is not your cheap, authentic mexican style restaurant. It’s the type of place to hit up on a night with the girls or a date with your loved one. Beautiful, clean and friendly. Thursday night is ladies night so the margaritas are half off and VERY delicious! Fresh made, no crapy mixes! We ordered the guac as an app which was a pretty large serving for $ 10. And the chips and salsa were wonderful as well. One GREAT thing about this restaurant is the gluten, vegetarian and dairy free options. I have friends that are gluten free which makes it hard to go out to eat. So it’s nice to have such a wonderful place available. The food is not cheap in price nor quality! But it’s still affordable. I would rather pay more for food that I know is fresh and not covered in grease. Not to mention the unique items they have. YUMMMMM!!! I ordered the Fish Tacos and have to say they were some of the BEST tacos I’ve had. Fish cooked perfectly, right amount of spice and the toppings were perfect. Came with 2 tacos, beans and rice for a price of $ 12. Not bad to me. Now that’s I’ve tried this place, I will for sure become a regular. Can’t wait to go back.

Hello happy hour! $ 3 and $ 5 margaritas. 4 great options for cheap appetizers — quesadilla, nacho, taquitos and ceviche Be aware — this is fru fru mexican — so the presentation is georgous, but not normal mexican, but tasty! I only ate at the bar since the rest of menu seemed a bit pricey. The salsa — wow! Both are excellent! The warm one at first seems a little creapy, but then it grows on you! Beautiful location, friendly staff

I have been here twice now. Once with my husband, and once with some friends. I have to say it really varies. The experience with my husband I really enjoyed the food and drinks, and the waiter was great. When I went there with my friends last night, the waiter was rude and snotty, and the appetizers were just okay.

Really? Why all the low reviews? I had a great experience here! The food was very good, not Tamayos good, but really good. We had the Combo Fajitas, chicken and steak, and while the meat was a bit tough, all the fixens were really fresh and well prepared. The fresh guacamole that they prepare was very good, although not as good as I can make it. Tbut the girl did a fine job. What sent me over the edge was the desert! We had the Apple Pie. Now, first I noticed the pie was not made fresh, although it didn’t seem to be. That didn’t bother me because of it’s final preparation: transferred to a HOT iron skillet, simmered in rum caramel and topped with cinnamon ice cream. I mean really? It was the most delicious desert I have had in a very very long time. I will come back just for that.(Oh and they serve Republic of Tea…)

So I’m from Texas and I was pretty excited when there was a Cantina Laredo built close to our house! There is a theatre near buy so we decided to make it a date night — Dinner and a Movie. Cantina Laredo has potential, but they’ve got a few things all wrong — OK maybe more than just a few… First of all we got there and it was packed so we decided to sit at the bar and wait for our table, the menu says $ 3 happy hour margaritas so we ordered specifically that«Happy Hour Margarita» bartender brought out two margaritas and said«that will be $ 10» we were like WHAT??? she said oh, well the happy hour one is small. WTF. we ended up paying the $ 10, no one at the bar was drinking anything smaller than what we had. Probably should update the menu if there is a small & a large or at least ask the customer. On top of all that its like they put a scoop of salt at the bottom of the glass so it was REALLY salty. They put us outside without asking which was kinda a bummer because it was windy & rainy — they have a porch type thing so it wasn’t like we were getting wet but I would have at least like to have been asked if we wanted«first available» or indoor. When we got seated at our table we ordered table side gaucamole. I LOVE guacamole so I was super excited — but it was a little pricey $ 9. The guy comes out with a tray and starts making it. We had him put all the ingredients in there. I was really bummed when i realized that it was just chunks of unripened avocado, onion, cilantro, tomato, jalepeno — barely mixed together with a bit of lime on top. $ 9 for that!!! outrageous I can make that at home. It took our waitress 30 – 45 min to come back and get our order — by then we were full on chips & avocado. I ordered Chilli Relleno with cheese & my husband ordered a three enchilada plate(2 beef + 1 cheese) they brought out our order and they brought a Chili Relleno with sweet beef — gag! and my husband got 3 enchiladas(1 chicken + 2 cheese) ummm ??? so they messed up both our orders. The waitress came back and was like I PUTYOURORDERINCORRECT. She might have, but thats not my problem I want the correct food. They brought out our correct food and here’s the verdict: — Cheese enchilada strange taste & boring, onions over power everything. –Shredded beef tastes like they bought it from chipolte and put spicy enchilada sauce on it. –Chili relleno OK soggy not crispy, good spice to it though. The manager ended up comping our entire dinner, except the salty margaritas because we paid for those at the bar. Overall disappointed in service & food quality for the price. If we come back it won’t be for a long time.
