This is a review for brunch. Fantastic! The food is great, service is awesome and they give you all sorts of fun extras. We got mini muffins, fruit cups, and they finished with an ice cream mini cone. I had the eggs Benedict which was delicious. The sandwich also looked good and the burritos got rave reviews. There are also bottomless mimosas and bloodys for 13 bucks. I have no idea why this place has so few people in it while people are waiting an hour at snooze around the corner.

If you’re looking for a chic and intimate, yet not too intempedating place for date night, this is the place! Came here with my boyfriend for a wonderful date night and we were nothing but completely pleased. The owner, Jimmy, gave us a very welcoming feeling from the beginning, and we enjoyed his company as he sat with us briefly to make us feel comfortable at his restaurant. Our server Rebecca was great. Very kind spoken and helpful. Extremely nice, she made our experience memorable, we’ll definitely be back to see the both of them again. Thanks so much for making our first time here such a great experience. –The cute Comcast couple ;)

My family and I have been here twice in the last month for get togethers. We came on Christmas Eve, and then again last week for Sunday brunch. Our Christmas Eve dinner was the second annual for us, and I have to say, that I feel like last year’s dinner was better. I feel like the food felt more gourmet last year and it seemed like the restaurant was more efficient before. My dad and I ordered the seafood sampler platter as an appetizer and my mom got the escargot. The appetizers were pretty good, but I can’t say that they knocked my socks off. Then, my dad got the seafood alfredo, which was a generous portion and he seemed to enjoy it. My mom and I split a salad and a steak. The steak was cooked well, but the sides were just so-so. We finished off the meal with the bananas foster and some coffee. I enjoyed the bananas foster and it was fun to see the waiter prepare it table side. The next time we went to the restaurant was for brunch and it was mediocre. I got the eggs benedict and my cousin got the breakfast burrito. Both dishes were served with a side of fruit. I also got the bloody mary, which is bottomless, but I didn’t like it well enough to drink more than one. I ordered a second just to make the price worth it. My mom and dad got the same food as my cousin and I(the benedict and the burrito) but we all found our food to just be ok. In the end, I really want to like this place, but I just don’t. The food isn’t wonderful and it’s really expensive for what you get.

Still delicious! On this particular occasion I brought my parents, who were visiting from Hawaii. They had listened to me rave about the Ivy for months and finally understood what all the hype was about. They loved their meals. My father ordered the Prime Rib, my mother the Seafood Diablo and I ordered the Lamb Chops. We also ordered a bottle of the 2012 Joseph Carr Cab recommended by our server and it was amazing! All exceeded our expectations. Benjamin, our server, provided us with excellent service and was very informative and personal, helping us along the way answering any questions we had with patience and finesse. I look forward to returning with my parents the next time they visit Colorado, but in the meantime, I’ll be enjoying the seasonal cuisine and service monthly.

In spite of the negative reviews I saw on this site, I returned to Ivy at the Glenn as my previous visits there had been positive. There were eight in our party so we gave the restaurant a pretty good run fo the money. Everyone enjoyed the dinners — seafood pasta, clam linguini, lamb chops, mediterranean chicken and prime rib. The servings were plentiful and nicely presented. We all shared two calamari appetizers, which was more than enough for all of us. The house salad is chock full of dried fruit and veggies, a strange combination for my taste. We did not order desserts but were offered their mini ice cream cones, which was just enough after the large dinner. The ambiance is one of the warmest in the area, and the service was very good. Jimmy, the owner, came by to check on our satisfaction. I do feel the food and wine is a little overpriced, but leaving after such a pleasant evening, it was ok. I’d definitely return. We need more restaurants like this in the area.

First time to this restaurant — wish I would have read some reviews before going with my friends for brunch on Sunday. HORRIBLE food. Quiche looked like scrambled eggs cooked in microwave — tasted worse. Cold eggs Benedict. Menu described lump crab Benedict with broccoli — was actually crab cakes and cold, over cooked eggs. Only redemption was the bottomless Bloody Mary’s. Don’t waste your $$ on this place — Denny’s or Village Inn would be a better choice for breakfast/brunch.

We have tried this place at least 5 – 6 times hoping that it would be better than the last. However, we have been disappointed each and every time. You wish the food was better but it’s really not that good. The service has been sub par each and every time. We were regulars at Jimmy’s(one of the owners) other restaurants in down town Denver. That was way better! Wish the food and service were like the good ol days… Definitely won’t be back. Spend your $$ elsewhere. You will be glad you did

Not surprised to see other negative reviews on here. we went to dinner on a Saturday night at 6pm. They were out of shrimp, all pasta, pork, and chicken. ON A SATURDAYNIGHTAT6PM?! then out salads came with our entrees — none of them even had dressing on them. the worst part about this was that I called to speak to the manager or owner and they never even returned my phone call. Clearly a poorly run business that doesnt plan their food supply well.

We have never been here for dinner but their brunch is unreal. They’ve a great variety of options. Their omelettes are amazing, my husband loves their chicken and waffles and their eggs Benedict. You can get bottomless mimosas or bloody Mary’s for 12 bucks and each table comes with free muffins and fruit. The vibe of this restaurant is welcoming and cozy. From the fireplace to the chic mountain wood wall, everyone we bring here loves it. I’d highly recommend this place for brunch!

Went for brunch and they seemed to have a good selection. People with me got the sourdough french toast and the breakfast club and both really enjoyed them. The three stars are for my own meal. I ordered the quiche and was really disappointed. What came out was not a delicious and cheesy piece with a flaky crust. It was baked in a dish, no crust, no cheese. Im pretty sure you cant call it quiche if the defining characteristics of a quiche were not found. What i had was a frittata. The seasonal veggies inside were simply bell peppers and red onions, which were huge chunks. I like red onion just fine, but couldn’t tolerate the huge chunks.

Upon arrival I had very high hopes for this place. I went last Sunday 8÷23÷15. I live across the street and go to Southglenn often. Walking in the décor and atmosphere were both top notch and fancy. I was very impressed. Great service(Selah was my server) and great cocktails from the bartender. Food was excellent! I got the crabcakes eggs Benedict. My only complaint and THE reason I rated one star is because of a comment the assistant manager made to my friend. I will never come here again. He had the nerve to address that she looked hungover and had«semen» on her face from the night before. Not only is that NOT true but how is that in anyway professional? She and I were both so shocked. I asked his name and he said«Art». Thank you Art for making me never want to come back to Ivy ever again. And I’ll be sure to let everyone I know(which is a lot of people. Born and raised in Centennial) that the management will make you feel utterly uncomfortable. A word of advise to the owner Jimmy– pick your employees well.

I can’t imagine why this place has only 3 starts on Unilocal. This is easily one of the best kitchens in the state. It’s my goal to eventually try everything on the menu. If you want to forget that Colorado is landlocked and love seafood try the Ivy Ciopino. I thought for about 30 minutes that I was back home in New England as every protein in it was cooked and seasoned to perfection. The soups are always house made and impeccably crafted. Once I thought I had mistakenly ordered a vegan corn chowder but immediately upon my first bite realized it was at least 100 times better than the next best I’ve ever had. Since it was late they let me buy the remaining quart left in the pot for $ 5!

This was our 4th visit in the last couple of years always with a Groupon. They are very pricey for dinner. This is a special occasion kind of place. They used to serve complimentary olives and nuts, but we haven’t gotten any the last 2 times. The server brought out a loaf of warm bread with whipped butter and oil & vinegar. They have seasonal menus. They just changed to their Summer Menu a few weeks ago which has fresh tomatoes in almost everything. The language on the menu is difficult to understand if you aren’t familiar with preparation methods or unusual foods. We went early on a Saturday evening. The server was obnoxiously too attentive. My husband and I were afraid to take a sip of water out of our glass as the server would refill it. He even wiped up the crumbs on our table before the entrée came out. With the Groupon, we shared the Crab Roulade appetizer. It was crab rolled inside a puff pastry. The crab was dry. We both ordered the Caesar Salad. It was smaller than the one we had 3 months ago. The choice is now a House or Caesar side salad which is a nice smaller portion. The other salads they used to offer with the Groupon were way too big and heavy. My husband ordered the Marcona Dusted Scallops with Jicama Avocado Slaw. There were 6 scallops on the plate covered with slaw. The portion looked small like an appetizer, but it was actually plenty of food. I ordered the Filet Medallions. They were over cooked for my liking. The server offered to send it back, but by then I had almost finished all of it. For dessert we ordered the Peach Flambé. It was served over a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The peaches were thinly sliced and still had some crunch to them. It was very good. We may come back for brunch, lunch, or just dessert if we were to return.

Ivy at the Glenn has a creative menu that I would put up against anybody’s in the Denver area. It’s a seasonal menu and the ingredients are locally sourced. The Feta Saganaki small plate is one example of an original dish. It’s a generous portion of Feta lightly browned on the outside, and served with flatbread and roasted peppers. The server finishes it at the table by soaking it in Ouzo, lighting it on fire, then dousing it with the juice of half a lemon. For my main course, I had filet medallions served over a bed of gazpacho and pureed potatoes. My wife had the pork tenderloin, which was slightly overcooked — our one quibble with the meal. The bananas foster is prepared tableside by combining butter, brown sugar, and brandy. The bananas are added, then the whole thing gets ignited(they sure do like to light things on fire there), then poured over a dish of ice cream. Also, the bartender mixes a variety of interesting cocktails, and is not afraid to come up with creations that are not on the menu. The servers were friendly and genuine, and they clearly care about their business and their customers. We had a chance to meet the chef as well. Though the conversation was casual, his passion for cooking and culinary creativity came through. One note about timing — it gets pretty busy between 6 – 7:30, so if you don’t like crowds, you may want to make your reservation before or after that time period. Ivy at the Glenn is a pleasant dining experience for the casual diner and foodie alike.

Second time coming here, second bad experience, won’t be back. Service is horrible. Sat at the bar for a friend’s birthday drink and nosh. Friend tells the bartender she is SEVERELY allergic to any bell peppers and mango. She asks if the crab tower has either just to be safe, even tho the menu doesn’t specifically list them. Bartender asks the kitchen, comes back and says no so she orders it. The dish is served and is wrapped in mango and topped with red pepper, pretty significant ingredients to the dish. My friend mistook the mango for corn bc corn was an item listed on the menu description but mango was not. But no, it was mango. She could have gone into anaphylactic shock right there. The bartender kinda blew it off, no apologies, no extra service, nothing. He did leave the first crab tower for the people not deathly allergic to it’s ingredients. The atmosphere here is nice. It’s a shame the service is lackluster at best bc the food can actually be pretty good. The lamb pops were good, ahi tuna salad good, fried oysters tasty, excellent dirty martinis.

Wifey and I have wanted to try this spot for awhile(our usual date night is Hodson’s, right up the street). Finally did tonight– don’t plan on ever returning. Ambience was nice– classy, decently intimate. Staff that we interacted with were all friendly enough and seemed happy to help. So far so good. Dinner Menu– the Ivy offers seasonal menus without a lot of options. Small plates/Salads/Entrees. We decided against a Small Plate, but split a delicious Kale & Quinoa salad. Personal preferences, but I felt the options for entrees were a little disappointing. Wife went with a burger and I got the pork tenderloin. Burger was decent, but the only highlight was the side of fries… Pork Tenderloin was overcooked yet decent, but certainly nothing special. Overall, meh. Value– this was the nail in the coffin. Based on the mediocre quality, I think I would have felt uncomfortable paying HALF of what I did for this meal. It was ridiculous. And it wasn’t just the food– I ordered a cocktail before dinner. Nothing fancy, just a regular Manhattan. Made it too sweet(whatever, that’s fine), then charged me $ 15 for it. I don’t mind an expensive meal if it is worth it– this spot isn’t.

ABANDONHOPE, ALLYEWHOENTERHERE. #KITCHENNIGHTMARES I’ve given this place a number of chances because it’s literally next to my office. Each experience is worse than the last. Uhhh… where to start? How about racist and homophobic jokes from server? Went there with a few co-workers for holiday cocktails 2 years ago. One of the waiters decided to tell us jokes… ‘Here’s a cute one…’ … followed by a homophobic joke that seemed to be an outtake from the bad guys speech in the Tom Hanks movie Philadelphia. Later, racist joke. So there’s that. This week — VP and Director in-town for dinner. Once a year thing. Ended up at the Ivy. Party of five, they wouldn’t seat us at a whole table but pulled two together. Really? When we left, nice big tables were still avaialble… Beer selection is awful –awful. In Denver, Colorado they are proferring Stella, Paulaner Wheat, etc. Okay. Bread /butter /olive oil & balsamic plate brought to table. Server couldn’t put it down vertically, olive oil ended up spilling into bread area. Later when retrieving it after we were done eating my buddy told me it was a few degrees of tilt away from pouring olive oil into my wine glass. I ordered duck breast. Came out on a bed of grains(not flavored… not even salted?) that was on top of too-sweet sweet potato glaze /purée. Duck breast not seasoned, skin was the opposite of crisp… nothing was hot… lukewarm at best. Seriously, you made a duck breast plate taste not that good? Two folks in the party got the pork loin. Two huge slices of underseasoned pork per plate, with gnocchi that seemed fried or baked… they both commented on how weird the gnocchi was. ‘Tastes like flour, right?’ I tried one and agreed that it was again, not seasoned and seemingly not fully cooked, with taste of unseasoned flour as you chewed. Buddy ordered a burger and fries… his was the last plate to come out… the fries were not cooked through. Pale, uncooked in the center… obviously not cooked twice as you would with fries… but these wren’t even all-the-way cooked once! $ 30 a plate for dinner… never again. Final detail — slipped on wine cork that was left on floor while walking to restroom. An older man with gray hair who I assume is the owner was sitting at the bar by the front door. Get up and make sure things are right or get out of business… WTF, indeed.

We’ve been here 3 times now. The first experience was fantastic. We always sit at the bar and we came in after HH. We shared the kale salad which was amazing, a burger that was good and fries that were phenomenal and split the pork soulvaki which had great flavor. The second time we came in for happy hour and split a few noshes and left largely unimpressed. The fries weren’t as good, the couscous was dry, and the kale salad was ½ yellowed and wilted. We dropped in on Friday with a Groupon and had a full dinner. We started with the cheese plate and that was very good. It is large and comes with 4 different cheeses, bread, fig jam, almonds, grapes, and olives. The mozzarella(made in house) is just OK, but the goat, brie, and bleu were all terrific. The marinade for the olives was delicious. I then had the arugula sald with plums and this was just OK. Nothing terribly exciting. Hubs had the Romaine Wedge and that was very good. The bacon is tasty and the bleu cheese dressing is great. For our mains, I had the special which was a Roasted Sea Bass with ratatouille and roasted fingerlings and garlic tomato sauce. It all sounded fantastic but was not anything of note. The fish was cooked well but the sauce tasted like a souless Ragu and the ratatouille was bland too. It’s easily something I could replicate at home and make it better. Hubs had the beef– a NY strip with a short rib in a wine sauce and roasted carrots and potatoes. A very comforting dish but again– no well-developed flavors that made you long for the recipe. It was very basic. For dessert we chose to share the flourless torte which was nice and warm. It had a nutella powder that was ok but kind of unnecessary. All in all, I think we will return to sit at the bar and have a couple appetizers but for its price point, we would choose to go elsewhere for a nice meal. It’s a good option for SouthGlenn, but not worth the drive if you’re out of the area. Service is terrific. The server gave us great recommendations and did not steer us wrong and was quite attentive all evening. Last thing, their happy hour pretty good. Half off all drinks from 3 – 6 M-F, I believe, and there is a bar menu as well that offers some food at a bit of a discount.

What. The. F**k. Went to the Ivy tonight for my 3 year anniversary and this was the WORST experience I have ever had at ANY restaurant. Sitting in the restaurant for OVER3 hours for dinner is NOT what I expected for a night out to dinner. Our waiter was alright(I was told it was his 2nd nite) but for f-sake: our table was never cleaned up(I ended up stacking plates and pushing them to the edge of the table just to bring attention to the mess). Bread and cheese plate were decent but the scallop dish tasted like I was eating rubber bullets, the tuna was chewy, and the wedge salad was disgusting. Tip: Cook the scallops for only about 2 – 3 minutes, tuna should be seared not well done(I ordered mid-rare), and the butts to the lettuce should NEVER be given to your diner. Add that to having to write down my Groupon information(and you asked for my address and phone number– what for?!?), all the waiters were sweating into peoples dishes, you kept the doors open and people were swatting at bugs the entire nite, and your bathrooms being absolutely atrocious: Ivy, I will NEVER dine in your restaurant again. And from the sounds of it from diners who sat around me, neither will they. And to think: I use to really like your breakfast. Pity.
