Horrible! TONS of fraud, and they are not helpful! Locations are not convenient. They’re staff are not helpful at all, I ALWAYS have to speak to the manager!

BE CAREFUL! SSFCU will take money out of your account if you have a loan with them without warning and without your consent! Me and my wife have a car loan, credit card, and a checking/​savings account with SSFCU. Without any notice they drained our savings and checking account because we fell a little behind on the car payment. I understand that they want their money but really??? Because of this we are closing our account and possibly looking for a new bank for the car loan!

I’ve been with SSFCU, off and on, for 14 years between San Antonio, TX and here. I was excited to be near a branch again and quickly became more active with my banking services once I moved to Colorado.
The staff is nice enough in this branch but I think I’m just disappointed with Security Service, in general. I don’t think they really extend enough services to help those who are trying to build credit. I also do not like the fact that the Trading Post is pretty much centralized in Texas making it very difficult for members in Colorado to take advantage of many of the sales available through the member publication.
Maybe I just need some more money.:P

Well I’ve been banking here for a few months now so I feel that I am ready to give a review with a little bit of experience under my belt. I went to this credit union after being disappointed at several other banks and credit unions in the area, mostly because they had locations in San Antonio where I used to live prior and I always heard good things about them from my co-​workers. I am so happy that I made the decision to bank here! I haven’t had any major issues so far, even though there are a few things I admittedly didn’t care for at first like the fact that if you don’t run all your transactions as credit they charge you a fee for doing a debit transaction. Also their accounts do require a minimum balance and you get fees if you go under it. This credit union seems to do a lot of their processing the old fashioned way on carbon copy slips and the bill pay system leaves a little to be desired (its kind of confusing at first). The only real problems that I’ve had are with transfers; they aren’t made all that convenient and once funds was accidentally put into the wrong account because of a teller error… so I recommend checking receipts for account numbers if you plan on doing a lot of transferring. In any case, I still use SSFCU for my local bank and have been satisfied with their service so far. Also, they have a debit reward program available.
