Have been wanting to go here for a long while. Finally made it. I would go again. Portions were ample, service was kinda slow, but the place was packed on a Saturday morning, so it was understandable. I had the ½ bowl of oatmeal… it was huge, it could have cooked a bit longer. The meals my husband and father in law had were basic breakfast and they they enjoyed them. It appeared clean and servers were friendly.

Always good service and great food. Rib sticking hearty breakfast for reasonable prices. I recommend the corn beef hash.

My wife and I had been driving past this place when going to and returning from the VA Center & Clinics. This time we stopped at the«Diner 62» about 3pm, Tue, 2÷9÷16. 1. The exterior seemed to be newly painted, nice colors, … plenty of convenient parking close to the Diner, … the area was clean, neat, and absent of any trash. 2. We entered, went down a short hall before getting to actual Diner(I believe that entrance is in acknowledgment of some of our weather and serves as a welcome for all customers). Stepping into the Diner was like entering a home, everything was warm, bright, clean, colorful and cozy. 3. Service was quick and friendly, not rushed, … the menu’s were clean, had a good selection and reasonable pricing for all three meals, plus a separate Seniors Menu, beverages and sides, followed by very good tasting hot coffee. 4. My wife had a BLT with fries while I had a bowl of chili, cheese, and onions. All came to us quickly, nicely presented, and tasted fine. My wife’s french fries had been rolled in some unknown product which added a nice, not overpowering, taste to the fries. The Diner 62 also had a nice selection of pies, and we took home two slices of coconut pie … which we later found to be excellent tasting and fresh. 5. While having a chat with a friendly out-of-town couple seated across from us, followed by picture taking, a brief look over the rest of the Diner, it’s wall hanging’s, and my look-see at the men’s rest room, we left with a feeling of having found a wonderful restaurant, congenial company, excellent service and an enjoyable time. Highly recommended, we will certainly return … Stop by and … Enjoy.

This was an excellent little diner. We came to Medford to visit family and accidentally found this place and it has excellent food, large portions and beyond the best service. We will return in the future for sure. The chicken fried steak with potatoe cakes is a must have. The corned beef hash is made fresh, not canned and they know what a over medium eggs is.

Food is typical diner food. Good. Fair portions. The service, however leaves much to be desired. Today was the final straw. I ordered a side of gravy with my breafast. The waitress(older woman. Gray hair pulled up. Wearing silly shoes with springs on the bottom of them) bit my head off when I asked for it when it didn’t arrive with my food. Loud enough to make other customers look up from their tables. Here is the deal. there are far too many other places to eat in the Medford area. As a customer I expect excellent service every single time. I don’t care if my request is an inconvenience to you. I am there to get what I orders the fist time. Without a bit of snark from the staff. I am perplexed as why she would think treating a customer so poorly would be OK for a moment. I will not be back. Ever. Which is a shame as I was becoming a regular on the weekends. A few more of pissed off customers and the doors will close. Diners like this are a dime a dozen.

Step into this place and it is exactly what you would expect of a diner. It has the typical diner feel, low booths, counter seating and a view of the food prep area.. The food is tasty and portions are large, very large. I wish the food came out a little faster but that is only cause I was starving when I got there.

Exactly what we came for. Good food, good service and good selection. Only came for the breakfast so cannot comment on rest of the menu. Overall, a good diner experience.

I’ve been coming to this location since the early ’90’s when it was the Road Runner. The restaurant as been through several different owners in the past 25 years, some not so great. Luckily, the current management is on point! We loved our meal. The hash is the best in the Rogue Valley.

Had lunch here, and while there does not appear to be a lot of home cooking going on, it was a tasty, competent meal. I had the hot turkey sandwich which was filling and tasty. My wife had a tuna sandwich and soup and liked them, except for the fact that the server did not offer her choice of bread on the sandwich. Saw some burgers being served around us, and they seemed large and looked good. I would return here for a good competent blue collar meal.

Looking for a new place to take the kiddos for breakfast, we stumbled upon this place which had a full parking lot, generally a good sign for a restaurant. As it is out of town a bit I was happy to see farm looking trucks which means locals come here often… Certainly a bit dated inside, but not in disrepair or dirty. Bit small so I could see a wait if you arrive at a peak time, but they are efficient so tables are turned pretty quick. The service is generally pretty good, and the wait staff is prototypical old school diner… a good thing to me, but if you’re easily ruffled be forewarned they can be short if they are busy… not in a mean way, just not going to dote like The French Laundry. They have a great kid menu with a wide variety to satisfy even the most picky eater, and crayons are provided for games and art. My omelette was wonderfully cooked and the hash browns properly crispy. The star however is the massive pancakes! Must be a hint of malt or something but they are very tasty. Further, as this has been a restaurant for some time, the griddle has a wonderful season to it that imparts awesome flavor to the cakes. Bottom line, we will be back and this is in rotation for brekkie joints.

Food is just nasty. Saw a cook get his phone out of his pocket with his gloved hand. Miss the other place when it was good. I would eat at black bear and I don’t like them either

A very popular place at noon this Sunday. I filled up on a two-egg omelette before filling up the Rumble Bee at the gas station next door. The hash browns were ordinary string cut from the freezer. The omelette was okay with a filling of vegetables and ham with melted cheese on top. The coffee was a little better than at most diners and the staff, even though very busy, were efficient.

Stopped in just for sodas and a chat with a friend & ended up staying for lunch. I had the Cobb salad my friend had the club sandwich. Portions are quite generous and we were both happy with our meal. Service was good(they have a packed house for lunch) & were still prompt with drink refills.

The potions were generous for a reasonable price. The waitress was friendly and easy to get her attention. My omelette was great and hashbrowns were perfect!

Not quite what it used to be but still not bad food. I had French toast with blueberries, they had been frozen which was fine, but they were still a little frozen when they put them on top of the bread. No butter had been added yet so it was impossible to melt butter since the French toast was cold from the berries. Not much thought went into that in the kitchen. Service was timely, however not too friendly. I recognized one server who was there even before the sale of the restaurant but she was not our server today. The orange juice was from a machine and poor quality. Coffee was fresh, however the condiments needed stocking– no sugar, no cream, creamer dish had emptied creamer still on the table. Not quite the Ol homestead it used to be but I can’t say I won’t eat there again.

I found the service to be fair, constant refills and easy to flag down the waitress for anything extra after ordering. Not a lot of people in, but food was very good– I had the hot jalapeño burger which was mouthwatering hot, and the fries had a perfect crisp to them. Would recommend for an afternoon brunch location.
