Bullet Depot

The bullet depot is kind of awesome, somewhat unintentionally. Customer service, price, and selection are average. However, what is remarkable is that the bullet depot is basically the local Museum Of Libertarian Stuff. The guy behind the counter is fairly friendly, younger, and didn’t give me any shit which I appreciate. The COMPLETELY racist «obamacare» print-​out taped to the counter depicting Obama as a witchdoctor was funny just because it was so shitty and white-​trash I couldn’t take it seriously.
The great part is the two guys sitting in lawn chairs in the middle of the store, one randomly accessorized with a dog laying by his feet, talking about, well, shit libertarians love to talk about. How china is taking over the world. Guns. Ammo shortages. How everyone needs to see the light and the government is evil. Money metals. How the apocalypse is coming and everyone should stockpile weird calibers of ammunition. How nothing is made in ‘Merica anymore. How they’re stealing our jobs. Immigration. If I was going to set up a museum exhibit on the spirit of libertarianism, it would be exactly that. Two guys surrounded by weapons indoors; talking about conspiracy theories, whacked out bullshit that supports the way they’d like to live, and how everything outside that room sucks and is sketchy and not the way it used to be. With a dog sitting there not giving a fuck about anything.
The fact that this actually exists is weird, but awesome. They didn’t acknowledge me the entire time I was there, which was perfect because it allowed me to continue believing they were an exhibit and not actually living in the same world as me.
All in all, okay customer service, average prices, kind of ridiculous, amazing atmosphere. I don’t know if posting links is kosher on Unilocal,but I took a video of the store, covertly, while they were talking about how NPR lies, money metals, and transitioning into how china is the reason gold isn’t worth anything anymore and we’re all going to die and should buy guns.
So if you’re in the market to transfer a gun ($ 30 FFL transfer) or just gawk at how fucking weird gun people can be, The Bullet Depot is an okay shopping experience and a great live-​action museum to libertarianism. Some of the shit that come out of those guy’s mouths is fucking priceless.
