We took visiting family here to experience a bit of the southern oregon wine flavor. We won’t be back. The host was an a$$. Insulting and rude. Very uncomfortable. We considered leaving after the 2nd tasting. When I checked out he suggested I should find another family that wasn’t so «dry.» If you like being judged and insulted, this spots for you.

Wine was amazing. Samples were generous, and environment was pleasant. Bought a bottle to take home!

We had a wonderful time at the Ledger David tasting room in Medford. We had grilled blue cheese with honey and chocolate stout cheddar sandwiches from the Rogue Creamery right next door with the tasting flight of all the wines on the current list that day. My three favorites with lunch were the 2013 Viognier, the 2013 Sauvignon Blanc and the 2012 Tempranillo. Delicious! Yum! I definitely will be back soon to buy more bottles to take home, and am looking forward to joining the wine club when shipping to Colorado begins. Thanks Robert, David and Lena for the wonderful day and the amazing wines you have created!

The wine 4 stars — the experience 1. On a Sunday, they had 1 person pouring who did not know how to multitask — he focused on 1 small group at the counter and blew off all the people tasting at the tables. We enjoyed the wines but had to get up and ask for our pour. I even made a comment about him forgetting about us. He poured and went back to the group. Too bad I would have bought some wine but he did not seem to care about providing an experience or any if the other patrons. We wanted to to try a few more wineries but he sucked up a lot of our time — thankfully we went to one more place and had a marvelous time. He also could not answer general questions about the area and the wine. Two thumbs down.

My family and I were passing through Oregon wine country on a road trip, so I did some research to decide which wineries or tasting rooms to stop at. There are many many choices up there, so I narrowed it down by seeing which served wines I like(there are a lot up there that focus on pinot noir but I like to try new things). I saw that Ledger David had an award winning Chenin Blanc(one of my faves) and so I put it on our list. It’s a very nicely decorated tasting room, and it’s in an area with a cheese shop and chocolate store within walking distance(how awesome is that?) The gal who poured for us(I really wish I remembered her name because she was so nice but hey I was drinking) was very friendly and had a lot of knowledge about the wines. I liked several of them including the Sauv Blanc which was very light and almost effervescent, but the chenin blanc was not on the tasting list so I asked about it. I was so disappointed to hear that it is such a good wine that they were sold out!!! But when she heard how far away we’d come from she disappeared into the back and returned with a bottle that had slight damage(read unsellable) on the label so we could try it! I was so excited and it definitely lived up to its reputation :) I also bought several of the Sauvignon Blancs — there’s a discount if you buy three or more and we were headed to a wedding so it made sense. We tried a few other wineries while we were in the area but Ledger David is a must try! If I’m ever in the area I’ll definitely go back, and I’ll try to order the next vintage of the Chenin Blanc to ship when it comes out.

Very friendly and unpretentious Winery. Robert was extremely informative, friendly, and easy to talk with. Tasting room is smaller but very open and nice and cool in the summer time. On cooler days they open the big front doors which is nice and cheery. Their new release Dark night is fabulous as well as the Tempranillo. They also have the Rogue Valleys only Chenin Blanc/Primorus which is fabulous. What also makes this Winery a must visit is next door their is gourmet chocolate tasting at Lillie Belle Chocolates, and hand made cheese of all styles at Rogue Creamery. Kids are also welcome to sit at the tables with snacks and treats from the neighboring stores while the parents take a break from it all. Something for everyone at this place!

Friendly until the last drop! A wine-hideout where you can laugh, relax, and learn without judgment. Digs: Deliciously snuggled between a cheese factory(cough) Rogue Creamery, and a chocolate shop Ledger David and our grape guide Robert held their own. I’m just tapping into my wine exploration but these guys have artistry up their sleeve. There must of been something in the water(wine); Robert was incredibly friendly, approachable, and honest to our questions. His theology on wine culture should not be set to the elite class with continuous cash flow but to the entry level taster that wants to learn and feel comfortable. The wine, oh the wine! We did a $ 20 tasting which consisted of 6 bottles to taste from(3 white /3 red wines). To my rookie-palate, they all were shockingly decent and the reds had lovely personalities; we fell for a Cab Franc. One of the best moments was when Robert never hinted it was closing time. We had just made the 5pm cutoff, and we were the last two in. He treated us like old friends, and even shared a few«off-the-menu» tastes. Critique: Price-per-bottle is slightly higher than a grocery price point, but you are paying for local premium quality. A wonderful memory has been cemented thanks to Robert and the help from his grape-tastic friends. Drank: $ 20 Wine-Tasting(6 wines: 3 white/3 red)

If I hadn’t seen this wine name for the first time on my previous evening’s restaurant menu, I probably wouldn’t have stopped in-but so glad we did! Wine for me can be as much about the the experience and enjoyment of the company as the actual wine and Ledger David Cellars had it all. We, and all others who walked in, enjoyed the wines as much as the fun-loving pourers, Robert and Andy who MADE the experience super fun. Their Viognier and Primoris were surprise favorites, and as well as their tempranillo and port. The location is next to the Rogue Valley Creamery, which provides another good excuse to stop in.

Decent location with cheese and chocolates in the same parking lot. A very new winery, but the wines were tasty. Nice place to visit.

The guy working there was nice if not massively effusive(which is fine), this place had a very nice seating area, and it was cool that some pieces of cheese were thoughtfully paired with each wine(small amounts, but it’s included and usually you get no such thing). The wine was very solid although we weren’t totally blown away by it; however, we’ll give it another shot when we’re next in town as we might have just been overloaded for the day. Definitely give it a try, especially at Rogue Valley tasting prices(a nice relief for a Californian).

Ledger David Cellars recently took over Daisy Creek winery. Same location, right next to Rogue Valley Creamery. This is a charming, small tasting room with friendly vibes. They have small tables for sitting and cheese samples too. In the evening, come for the live music. The Thursday we were there it was going to be a Brazilian accoustical guitarist. Mr. B found their 2010 Primoris Chenin Blanc to be a keeper for him. $ 20. We found that many of their wines were priced quite low, but were very good tasting. Sample their wines for $ 5, but that is waived with any bottle purchase. They also offer discounts if you buy 3 or more.
