Not sure why this place is still open, did take out for lunch for 6, the order was messed up, they don’t know how to make a New Orleans roast beef po-boy… Gravy required. Too much bread. Mac & cheese was bad, how do you mess that up? They never faxed us a menu. Chicken fried steak was gristly… Just plain old yuck!!!

Good food. Seasoned well. Pricy for what they serve and portion size. I have been there twice and will not be returning. My first meal was breakfast. I had tea and a biscuit. My guest had coffee and eggs — $ 13. Not great for the little amount of food. My next visit was prime rib and was mostly fat. My guest had the same. The waitresses weren’t all that attentive. The manager scolded them in front of us telling them to greet customers upon entering. Scolding is best left for the back room & not in front of customers trying to enjoy a meal. I am a Christian, don’t misunderstand but it’s overly religious. As if to force the customers. It’s just a little too pushy. Very clean which is a plus.

VERY good food. Worth the short drive there from Sherwood area of BR. Definitely on our breakfast rotation. Pancakes were especially good. Service was good for us, but noticeably not good for other tables as the morning got later. I got a sense that the three high school students were not adept at handling the increased business. Would definitely go back, just make it early in the AM. ;0)

Great food and service. We walked in for an early dinner on Saturday, was greeted and served our drinks quickly. We ordered the boudin balls for an appetizer and they were very good although they are not spicy, which was ok for the feel of the diner. I ordered the chicken fried steak and my husband the seafood plate and they were both cooked perfectly, and the portions were just right. Service staff was very friendly, and checked on our table often. I didn’t give the fifth star because of the limited Sunday hours. We were actually going to back the next night to try some different dishes but they close at 2:00PM on Sunday. We will be returning though.

Was greeted upon entering, really enjoyed the down home feel if the greeting and ambience of the restaurant. It was a seat yourself type of thing, so I did as such. The waitress immediately took my drink order and came back very quickly with my drink. She then gave me a few minutes to look over the menu. Not too much time to where I thought she was ignoring me or overly busy, but just enough time. She came and took my appetizer & entrée order, which for me was a little bumpy but she just seemed to know how to get back in the natural groove of it and finished taking my order. First to come out 17 minutes later was my appetizer, the fried pickles. That is a little long to me to wait for an appetizer in an almost empty restaurant. They were hot & crispy. Flavor was perfect though. My entrée came out 3 min after my appetizer. Bad kitchen timing. The food was hot and the flavors were all good. If you like a nice down home type of meal, this is the place for you. I don’t know if they have lunch specials, as I was not told about them or offered them during the ordering process.

This is a great place to eat with really good cooks! Everybody that tries them, loves the hamburgers and they offer a variety of hamburgers cooked how you like it. The onion rings are yummy too! They have home-cooked hot meals like chicken-fried steak and gravy and veggies too! Try the half shrimp and half catfish finger plate. You won’t be disappointed. They even have ice cream and nice desserts! The staff is very friendly and welcome you when you come in the door! Come out to Central to Me’Pa’s Diner. You’ll be so glad you did!!!

Excellent service. Good food-pricey sides. Monte Cristo sandwich is wonderful, but served alone. Hamburger is home made w/o fries. Add $ for Very sm portion of fries. Daily lunches are good, small portions.
