Stopped by to try this place on a weekend. The place was busy but we got our food fast. They give u the option to have tacos with handmade tortillas and your choice of salsa on the tables! The carnitas were very good!

This place is really good I dropped by early in the morning for some burritos but dam they took hella long to make them it wasn’t even busy I would hate to see them when they have a full house. On top of that I said super burrito and I got a super small burrito what a ripoff. They definitely have to work on speed and making there burrito a lot bigger.

This is a great place. No frills just great food. And this place is for families. If you haven’t been here, you’ve got to try it! I had the huevos rancheros with chicharrons. Incredible flavor and freshness. And they make their own salsas. Home cooking at its best. Taking home their carnitas for two. I can’t wait. — — — — — — — — — — — 3÷20÷2016 Well, I had high hopes, especially with my last visit. I asked for the eggs over easy on my huevos rancheros. They came over hard. I don’t mind when people make mistakes. It’s fine. But when I tell three different servers the problem with my order(and it isn’t the original waiter) and they don’t anything about it, it is a problem. I’m pretty easy to please and don’t ask for much. This is too bad. I won’t be coming back to this place. It’s a shame. They have good carnitas.

Went to the car wash next door and tried this place out since I had it book marked forever. Got 3 taco truck styled tacos. Fairly priced at $ 1 each and $ 1.50 for tripas. The tacos were good, not greasy. I was able to pull away the bottom tortilla which is awesome because I usually make two tacos out of the one. I will be back to try other items with my future baby mama for sure!

This is a great friendly place to go to! They have amazing tacos and tostadas I love their tostadas! It’s so bad too I live like right down the street from them and I’m constantly craving their food lol! It’s a small restaurant they are doing some renovation and it’s starting to look amazing in there! If you have not tried it, it’s a must try!

Love the 5 Taco’s and a Soda deal… it’s pretty much the only thing I’ve ordered here. They are remodeling the interior and it’s looking really nice now! Also love the sauces they provide and are often quick to serve!

I was reading the reviews on this restaurant and live in Ceres so I had to check it out. I used to work right next door and the business had changed hands a few times over the past 15 years. I was really hoping that this would be our go to place for Mexican food since we don’t have a quality selection of Mexican food in Ceres. I ordered three of the carnitas tacos with fresh tortillas. The tortillas did not taste fresh and were not even warmed up. They were cold. The carnitas were tasteless and soft. I always wonder how Mexicans don’t know how to make carnitas. First, you slow simmer in lard and then you either lightly fry in oil or crisp on a grill. There has to be a slight crunch to carnitas. These had none. They were soft and slimy. After I forced the first taco down, I left the other two on the plate. Disappointed. I asked for chips and salsa, which they charged me for(they say they will charge $ 1.00 for chips if you spend less than $ 10.00. My bill was $ 15.10). Their salsa tasted OK, but like it was from a can. Their chips were hard and stale and tasted like they came from a bag. I saw someone on Unilocal had said that their chips were as fresh as their tortillas. Yeah right. I asked for a Sprite, they brought me a can of Sprite that was warm. What is with this place bringing things that are supposed to be hot, cold and things that are supposed to be cold, warm? They seem confused. After my meal was cut short, I went up to the counter to order a wet burrito for my wife. The guy running the counter asked«Can I help you?» and I started telling him my order to go. About three seconds into my order, he told me «Wait a second» and put his hand up and then just walked away. He was the one that asked me for my order like he was ready and then told me to stop when I started? Customer service sucks. I finally got the wet burrito. When I got home, I didn’t tell my wife the experience that I had because I wanted her to eat her burrito with an open mind. After a few bites, I asked her how it was. She said that the green sauce was good, but the carnitas was underwhelming just like I explained. It’s really too bad because we both wanted to like this place. We both eat Mexican food a lot and if this place would have been good, they definitely would have earned our business. Unfortunately, that was not the case here. I am very surprised to see so many five star reviews on Unilocal for this place. You five star reviewers must think garbage tastes good. I’m a white boy and I can make better Mexican food at home. Looks like we will continue to go to Modesto and Turlock for our Mexican food.

Carnitas Michoacan is by far the best Mexican stop in Ceres that I’ve had so far. I’m a big Mexican food eater, so whenever I’m going to be stopping in a town on a regular basis I need to find my «go-to» option. This place is easily it. Their carnitas are some of the best I’ve had.period. Their ambiance and location is nothing to brag about(though they are renovating their restaurant to accommodate more people), but that’s not stuff that I care about. What I care about is the food and the food here is GREAT! Their carnitas dinner for two is a great value and they hook you up with a lot of carnitas, rice, beans, onions/cilantro/lime and fresh tortillas. Their fresh corn tortillas are currently being investigated by the FBI because they’re the bomb. They have tacos for almost as cheap as the taco trucks(though I spring for the $ 1.79 taco for those fresh tortillas) and their meats are good. Carnitas is obviously their specialty, but the carne asada and al pastor isn’t bad either. I’ve also tried their pupusa and it was pretty good too. If you live in Ceres, love Mexican food and haven’t tried this spot yet you’re doing yourself a huge disservice. Check this place out right away!

Salad was soggy and the minced mystery meat tasted like cat food. I should have backed away when I noticed the grills weren’t on… not coming here again.

Excellent tacos! Go with the carnitas because this is what they are known for. The homemade tortillas are the best I’ve ever had. Don’t get the carne asada; it just doesn’t hold up next to the carnitas. The tripas are really awesome too!

I ordered two pork and cheese Pupusas and I was not happy. I’m salvadorean and this is not a Pupusa. Very oily and no cheese. It was very crispy and fell apart. They should not have Salvadorean food at all in a mexican restaurant. the salsa they gave me was garlic garlic garlic. The super burrito was tasty I asked for steak and had chorizo. I went in during construction. I ordered out. I waited about 15 min in the heat. They should have fans and some chairs or something. Also Pupusas are over priced for them not to be good.

Place is awesome. I usually get lengua but it’s more expensive at any place so tonight I decided just to get buche. The guy told me to get lengua since I was a first timer there and he’d hook me up with regular price of meat like carnitas, buche or pollo. Quick service, amazing food. 10⁄10

This place was delicious! The seating area is kind of small, but it looks like they’re remodeling, but the food was delicious! My boyfriend and I shared the plate of carnitas and they were really good. The tacos were good too. They give you two size options for the tortillas.

For what this is, they excel at what they do. As a tip, if you order your tacos with everything, they come with grilled peppers! I tried head tacos, carne asade tacos, and carnitas tacos and they were all good. I wouldn’t order the head tacos again, I just ordered them to see if I would like it. Their tacos are on point and you get a coke when you order the taco plate. I also ordered the wet burrito and it was huge and delicious! It made excellent leftovers the next day! I will come here again for the tacos and if scenery or ambiance is what you are looking for, this is not your place. The eating area is small and not fancy; however, the food is the star!

Great place. Easy location off the freeway. Home made tortillas, chips, salsa, etc. Had the goat stew that was incredible. Childe Verde also really good. Great service and just a good place overall.

Hottest spot for taco cravings! Being a SDA and not eating pork, you would think I would veer away from this place but I’m all about not judging a book by its cover. I come for the 5 taco lunch special. Comes with a soda and if you eat in, you are delightfully surprised with their three bomb sauces(verde, rojo, and avocado) plus their chips and salsa. My go to is lengua, tripas and asada. With the tripas and lengua being a little more expensive, $ 7.25 for a filling meal is worth it! I highly recommend this spot for a quick lunch break or if you’re ballin’ on q budget. 4 stars the bomb food. –1 for the décor and cleanliness. ps(they are renovating the restaurant, still open under construction)
