Closed, out of business. Probably a good idea, as a Dollar Tree opened up across the street next to Paris Baguette and Oodles. Too bad, $ 1.50 for a mylar balloon with helium was a good deal.

Great mylar balloons for $ 1 and the helium for an additional 50 cents. I wanted to buy a dozen blue balloons but my safety-minded mom objected for car visibility. But I learned that you can roll the strings from a balloon bouquet around a heavy object and keep them down and out of sight in the backseat. Lots of fun knick knacks to decorate a party — check out the Dollar Palace!

This store is a family run store. The owner is very helpful and very nice. The store is organized and it’s clean. It makes for a quick in and out when you need a birthday bag, school supplies or other last minute items. He will also order stuff for the store if his customers request it. I prefer this store over the chain dollar stores.

With businesses closing due to hard times, Dollar Palace took over the space that used to be a Korean video store, in between Cerritos Pharmacy and Cerritos Cleaners, located in the Zion Market shopping center. Basically, it’s a smaller version of the 99 Cent store or Dollar store. You’re not going to find a lot of variety as it’s bigger counterparts but a store like this can make some money in Cerritos since the closest 99 Cent store is on South Street near the Los Cerritos Center. They have some essential items that I often need like dishwashing liquid, air fresheners, and school supplies. I did notice a good selection of greeting cards. Also, I’m horrible at wrapping gifts so I can also use their tissue paper and gift bags(there’s a lot there) to make my job easy. In the back, there are also tools that you find in your garage, all for a dollar, as well as kitchen accessories. The items look solid and not cheap at all. The store is open Monday thru Saturday(9AM to 9PM) and Sunday(10AM to 8PM). They do accept credit/debit cards but with a minimum $ 5 purchase. Here’s a page from that explains how the owner setup this business with the assistance of Dollar Store Services. There’s a video as well which explain in detail, in case you’re wondering how someone sets up a business like this from scratch.( ).
