L A Nails

Like I seriously wanted to get my nails done!!! I picked this place after a few times of walking by and noticing it was not crowded at all. Red flag! I walk in, not a single soul was in there. I tell the man I want full set square with combination of two colors. I show him the picture and he nearly freaked out. He said it was not real and that it’s not possible, mind you this was a DIY on tumblr design. He said «oh no I can’t, no way, but you go to the other nails they can do it there». He was referring to Signature Nails on the other side of the mall. I was shocked! I could not believe this man was telling me to take my business somewhere else for the only fact that he thought he couldn’t do the job, wow, have some faith in yourself. Like seriously, even if he tried and it didn’t work out I wasn’t going to be mad or ask for a refund. Just knowing that he tried would have made me happy. I am a paying customer, you need me. So after he said to go somewhere else and after I even switched my style to Ombré and still said no, felt bummed out not for me but for him. Sad that he didn’t even try.

I just did not care for this place, let me count the ways… First, the water was way too hot. Scalding even. Second, the multiple upsell attepmts really irk me. Third, there was a long black hair in the water. Fourth, there was very little «scrub time». Fifth, she applied lotion with wet gloves (eww). I kinda want to give only one star, but at least it didn’t smell like a typical nail shop.

Service is terrible starting with the «manager» who «greets» you. She sat the entire time with her back to me, and several other customers, until a customer who was getting serviced let her know that there is a customer and that she probably should turn around. Service took 2 hours, because they nearly REFUSE to do simultaneous mani pedi. I would love to post some pictures of what my nails look like, I could have done a better job than what they have done.
Go across the street to Nail Spa. It’ll be the same price with much better quality and they’ll respect your time.

You know how they say, «Third times the charm?» Well it was that way for this place.
The first time I went to this place, I got my nails done, and I didn’t think so much about it afterwards. I got a full set done and I had to say, I couldn’t stop staring at my nails. The second time I went was because I had to repair a nail that had chipped off due to excessive partying and drinking and not knowing what really happened to my nail.
The third time I went I found the person who knew what they were doing. Her name is Dian. And she was the nicest person I’ve ever met there. Not only was she nice and professional, she talked to me in CHINESE! Which is surprising because you would think that all the people who work at nail salons only speak Vietnamese. She repaired four of my nails, gave the rest of my nails a fill, and put a really nice gloss gel on my nails, all for $ 15!!! Which I consider cheap because a fill would be $ 20 + repair for 4 nails, $ 12 + gel gloss, $ 5 = $ 37.
And now I can’t stop staring at my nails. =)
