I love coming here! Especially for happy hour. We usually get a young girl in the bar named Megan. She is awesome and gives the friendliest service out of all of the servers we’ve ever had here. The food is delicious and the portions are extremely generous, but the awesome service from Megan is the number one reason we keep coming back!

I stopped coming here as the foods been going down in quality. The final straw was when me and my friends got sick after having their barbeque chicken same day shortly after. I called the location and spoke to the manager and while he offered some complimentary thing with my next meal, my main concern was that he would go back and check his chicken and food stock to check freshness and how they were storing the food, keeping it sanitary. He just gave excuses how no one else had problems(and as you can see in reviews below, it HAS happened to other people) and went on about how they do this and this and how its safe. Uh, I JUSTTOLDYOU I GOTSICKFROMYOURFOOD. So, in a nutshell, they probably didn’t check, didn’t bother to listen and did nothing. Never went back for that diarrhea Barbeque chicken again, yikes. BJ’S Brewhouse has been on point, go there or even Wood Ranch or go on a hunt to find and support your local mom and pop food joint with good food.

Alrighty! I recently embarked on a journey to give this place another shot. Why not right? What can go wrong? Many things apparently. I’ll just keep things short and simple. The service is still pretty good. They check on you n a regular basis and the food comes out on a timely manner. The apples butter is still amazing! The biscuits were great on the inside… slightly under in the middle. It’s a great shame when the center of a beautiful biscuit is doughy like that. I tried the beef ribs this time. I figured they would be more moist compared to the pork ribs if they do keep things overheating in the oven for hours and hours and hours on end. I was right… but they were still tough to chew. The tri tip was rather forgettable. The chicken… the bbq chicken is suuuuper amazing! Holy cow!!! I’m talking about perfectly seasoned, moist, aaaaand flavorful! I’m talking about a triple whammy here. This is the thing to get folks. It really is. This is the reason for the extra star. My oh my oh my. The sides: Mac and cheese and the beans… beans were overly sweet. Inducing vomit kind of sweet. The Mac and cheese was under seasoned. Kiiiiiinda disappointed. Anyways, if you find yourself coming here due to the decision of others, get yo self the chicken. It’s pretty dang awesome. No joke. Otherwise, find yourself another bbq joint. There are better… unless you want yo self some of that amaaaazin apple butter. My oh my oh my sweet baby Jesus!!! My lord and savior! Died on the cross so that I may experience the fullness of them apple butter and chicken! God is good.

Oh Lucille’s, I knew you could win me back over. Matter of fact, I secretly wanted you to! I’ve always loved Lucille’s food but I did have one bad waitress at this location a little while back. I’m happy to say the last two visits leveled out the playing field for this location. I love how the manager, I believe it him… Is so hands on with customers. He made his rounds throughout the restaurant. We saw him smiling and friendly as we arrived, during the middle of our visit all the way to when we left. He offered the kids stickers and lollipops, he was really positive. Food: Good as usual but the appetizer wings we got weren’t as yummy as I’ve had at the Brea location, I may have ordered the wrong sauce because it was sweet instead of spicy. Otherwise the chicken itself was crispy and perfectly cooked. My son loves them and he doesn’t even like to eat much. We of course got served their warm biscuits with their amazing whipped butter spread. Everyone loved those, they literally disappeared in like two minutes and we got two baskets! Lol. We ordered the BBQ chicken salad, Cajun shrimp salad, tri tip salad, rack of baby back ribs, brisket nachos and some typical kids meals. Everyone liked their food for the most part, the portions are insanely huge lol. We all literally had five bites of our main entrees and went into food coma. 4⁄5! Service: It was my moms birthday and the waiter accommodated a little brownie ice cream with candle :). We had a mix of waiters, one initially for drinks and another for food. The tall bald waiter we had was super polite and friendly. He had a great attitude and accommodates everything everyone asked him, from questions to request for other items. My mom ordered the crocodile cooler made with 4 rums, I tried it and it was yummy. I would’ve gotten one if I was not driving a full car of people. Great experience, 4⁄5. Only reason I said 4⁄5 is because they forgot a few minor items we asked for or brought it after the fact. Otherwise everything was good. Will definitely return I’ve always loved Lucille’s ! They made it to 5 stars with me finally after a few tries, a little error in the past but they have recovered thanks to better workers, better service and a good manager. Or at least I believe he takes part, employees are a reflection of their management I would believe.

We decide to eat here for New Years Eve since the whole family can agree on Lucille’s. My niece has a peanut allergy and this place has always been very accommodating. You’ll eat lots since portions are generous. This is a family friendly place with loud atmosphere. Blues /Jazz style music is loud on its own. The sauce is tasty. There’s bottles on the tables for adding room temperature sauce.

Cerritos really isn’t known for BBQ. As far as I’ve discovered this would be your best stop for some bbq. Complimentary dinner rolls. I would order a sweet tea, beef ribs, mashed potatoes, and bbq beans, but that’s just my preference. Servers do a good job. Food is a bit slow being that it is bbq. Gets loud in here so I don’t recommend for an intimate dinner spot.

I generally love going to Lucilles. The food is really good, and I like the enviroment. This last time my husband and I went at this location and after we went home I felt sick to my stomach. I thought nothing of it until tonight when I was about to heat up my left over BBQ chicken and ribs. When I cut apart my chicken I found blood all the way through the bone! No wonder I got sick!

Who doesn’t love Lucille’s? If may not be the best barbecue ever but it will satisfy your barbecue craving as it always does for me. I’ve visited Lucille’s many times and never bothered to review this place until last nights experience. My sister tried calling in a few days in advanced to make reservations for 20 people for December 30th. She was told on the phone they are not taking any large parties reservations due to all the holidays. My niece was pretty bummed about it and was going to just postpone her birthday celebration a week. I decided to give it a try and call them. I spoke to Mark C. and he was able to book my reservation. Mark was very patient and helpful and he made it happen. Mark if you see this Thank you again! Your awesome! Now for the dining experience. Lucille’s policy they can’t sit your party until at least half your group arrives. Reservations was for 7:30pm. My family arrived around 7:15 and we checked in. Host told us they will get the table set up and sit as soon. Thirty minutes past and no update. Finally the manager came out and said she apologized for the delay. They were waiting for another party to finish and then we can be seated. She seemed really sincere. We ended up sitting around 8:15. As we were finally getting seated she offered us 3 free appetizers and free non alcoholic drinks. Food came out very quickly and service was on point. Happy hour ends at 7 and starts again at 9pm at the Bar. I ordered some drinks from the bar and the bartender Gretchen(I think that was her name) was very friendly and accommodating. I was buying shots and drinks for everyone but had no idea what to order. Gretchen suggested some tasty shots and drinks. Let me tell you she’s got a heavy hand when it comes to pouring alcohol. Oh what a night I had. Happy New Year!

I would like to say that the food is great. I love BBQ. I went to this location last week and they brought me a wrong order. I had a beef rib in my mouth when my daughter told the server that she got the wrong order … He took the order back event though will told him not to toss it away. It was good food down the drain and he did not listen to us. Hopefully they did not give it somebody else. Also they increased the price

Where to start. From the service to the food. This location is definitely worth coming to. We had two people in our party that have never been to this restaurant(from out of town). So our server explained anything they were uncertain about from the menu. The food was so delicious. My daughter did not like the tea so our server offered right away to bring her something else. Thank you for your great customer service! We will definitely be back!

I went to Lucille’s for lunch on a Saturday at 11am with no wait. They make best baked potato soup and biscuits. I sat across from indoor bbq grilling with ribs and bbq chicken. I had a wonderful waitress, Danielle who was very good on refills and suggested Tabasco on bake potato soup which was tasty. Tri tip sandwich was tender and delicious with extra bbq sauce. I also love their peach ice tea. I would definitely go back on Saturday on baked potato soup.

Came here for Thanksgiving Dinner and I’m so glad I did! We had a family of 5 and only had to wait 30 minutes for a table. They had an alternate menu for thanksgiving but all of the faves(ribs, chicken, tri tip, steak) were available along with turkey and ham dinners. I really like coming to lucilles with large parties because you can order a lot of food and eat family style so not everyone has to order a separate dish. Also if you order racks of ribs, you can request they cut the ribs before bringing it out which is really convenient for large parties. Food: The ribs are the best! I prefer baby back to St. Louis ribs because it seems more juicy and tender. They don’t smother ribs in sauce like many other bbq places but they do have bottles of their sauces on the table so you can smother to your liking. I’m also in love with their biscuits and cinnamon butter. I’m not a huge biscuit fan usually but it’s so good here! Always soft and warm! I always get the sweet tea which is always brewed fresh and perfectly sweetened. Service: not sure if we just got lucky or if all of the servers are great but the server I had on thanksgiving day was amazing! She was very sweet, personable, and was always on top of our requests. Our drinks were always filled and she came several times to check on us. She also sent us home with drinks which was perfect for black friday shopping. Great experience! Highly recommend this location!

Just arrived in LA and we decided to eat at Lucille’s as hadn’t been here in a few years. The service was a bit slow as took quite some time to get our biscuits. In fairness once they came they were good and the apple butter went down a treat. Bottomless iced tea, soda etc which is a great change from the UK which still believes in ripping people off by charging for every soda! Come on, its water & syrup! We had a portion of fried pickles which were pretty decent. I prefer them sliced whereas these were served as spears. Not the best I have had but still decent quality of pickle. I had the beefs ribs with mac n cheese & sweet potato fries. There is a good variety of starters and the table liked the mash in particular. The beef ribs did not disappoint. They were great. Not many places do beef ribs but I wish they did as I prefer these to pork ribs any day. I would definitely come back here again. Maybe when its not so busy so the service is a bit quicker.

This was my forth time at Lucille ’ s Resturant, and I have never been disappointed. My son treated me to a BBQ birthday meal. It was great, and it was free :). I had the BBQ two meat dinner, my choices were BBQ beef ribs and BBQ beef brisket. The atmosphere was great, the food was good. And the staff was friendly.

This would be the 3rd time going to a Lucille’s establishment. The first two visits weren’t all that appealing… but this time it was great. We got seated as soon as we walked it. The hosts were beyond friendly, the waitress was extremely helpful and the food was delicious! For the appetizer we decided to go with the Brisket Nachos. I honestly was expecting more cheese and more brisket… would I order it again? probably not unless I request more cheese and brisket. I didn’t want to deal with getting my hands dirty so I decided to have the BBQ Tri Tip with a side of mac and cheese and bbq baked beans. Bomb! The meat was extremely tender and juicy, the mac & cheese were cooked perfectly and the baked beans weren’t too sweet. Everything was great. My date went with the full rack of ribs. He sure enjoyed them. Thank you Lucille’s for a great/delicious dinner.

I met up with a friend for dinner here the other night. I ordered my usual: half chicken with a potato and veggies. To drink, I had iced tea and water. The food was good as usual, and we were seated quickly in spite of it being very busy. I appreciated the A/C, as it has been pretty hot the past few days. The waitress did her job well, and she even brought me a big bag of biscuits to take home.

What the HECKHAPPENED here? I’m not sure if its the location but I have NOTEVA had a bad experience at a Lucille’s before until now. This was so SUBSTANDARD I thought I was being punk’d! I ended up here because the first try for BBQ on this particular day was ALSO an EPICFAIL but we all still had a taste for some que. Since it was a holiday we were seated pretty quickly and didn’t have the normal wait time that they normally have so we started out pretty good. We sat out on the patio which was nice. Our server came right over and took our drink orders while we continued to peruse the menu to find what we wanted. I was looking for a burger but I didn’t want the heaviness of the red meat so I went with a garden burger. My first co-eater got a pulled pork sand with corn of the cob and the other co-eater got the tri tip sand. Our food cam out in a reasonable amount of time but WHEREWASTHEFOOD! We almost needed the Hubble Telescope to see it on our plates! It seems like the prices have GONEUP and the amount of food has DRASTICALLYGONEDOWN! I think there was a garden burger patty somewhere but I never saw it! The bread was SOFRICKIN thick I had to take off the top bun. Then there was a salad on under the bun and a THICKGREASY layer of cheese that also made it difficult to find the patty or even taste the garden burger. SIMPLEHORRIBLE! My first co-eater had to put so much sauce on the pulled pork sand because it was so FRICKINDRY it tried to lodge itself in his throat. Anytime you need BBQ sauce on que its a REALBADSIGN! NOBUENO. Que should be able to stand on its own with NOSAUCE! The fact that the meat was also dry was ALSONOTGOOD! Again small portion of meat and a GI-NORMOUS bun didn’t help matters. The corn on the cob could have been cooked a bit more as well. Then when co-eater asked for more butter they didn’t want to go get it stating, «We already put butter on the corn». Ummm since when DOYOUNOTWANTTOGIVE A CUSTOMERMOREBUTTER! WTH! We are at a que place so we probably ARENOT watching our waistlines. My second co-eater tri tip was a bit on the TOUGHSIDE! I thought she was going to need a saddle to ride it home because it was bucking at the table like it was still alive. GOODNESSGRACIOUS or maybe I should say giddy up! I have NEVER had food be this bad here! I’m still wondering if the REALCHEF went on vacay for the holiday and left some inexperienced person behind the grill! Our server was AWESOME but she was working her butt off and flying all around because the TWO guys there thought it more prudent to stand around chatting like there were NOT there to work! On a few occasions when one of us tried to get there attention they LOOKEDDEADATUS and walked in the other direction and behind the wall in the kitchen out of sight! So we waited for her so we could get some help! Poor thing she was definitely trying to be wonder women. I can’t say I would come back here because I don’t enjoy paying for what I’m not getting. I would have done better going to Carl’s Jr. across the street and spent far less money and gotten better service.

There always seems to be a wait so I never wanted to voluntarily go here until I was forced to go here. Upon coming here around 5:00 pm on a Saturday night there was a 20 minute wait. And it just gets worse as it gets later on in the night. After you order they give you biscuits. Really soft buttery warm biscuits that melt in your mouth. Being the college student that I am I could have loaded up on those biscuits and have been satisfied. I ordered the BBQ shrimp. Okay keep in mind that a lot of the dishes are either seasoned with or have garlic in them for a kick. So if you have a date later on then you probably should just stick with the biscuits and most of the sides because most of the entrees will give you kickin breath. I substituted the collard greens and grits side with French fries and macaroni and cheese. The shrimp were seasoned well and had the tail still attached. They were big and they gave a lot of them. I wouldn’t order this again because it was like $ 23 and if I wanted spicy garlicky buttery shrimp I’d go elsewhere where it’s way cheaper and served by the pound with the shell still intact. Macaroni and cheese was average, I wouldn’t order it as a side again. And it’s really hard to mess up French fries so they were good. I got to try other sides from the other orders at my table. The baked beans were tasty, I would order this next time. The collard greens were exactly what I expected it to taste like they’re good but I’m not a vegetable person. I got to try the BBQ meats from other people I was dining with. The BBQ chicken was juicy. Baby back ribs were good. Beef ribs were big but had a lot of fat. Price = expensive. The server was extremely nice and happy and let us complete our survey on our receipt before we finished dinner so that we can use the $ 5 discount on that same meal instead of having to come back to use the discount on another meal. If you’re on a tight budget then come here during lunch for lunch specials or during happy hour.
