My husband is a big fan of mushrooms. We got the mushroom sampler(mushroom soup, mushroom dip with pita, and stuffed mushrooms) and the portabella mushroom sandwich with fresh fruit cup. Everything was delicious, hearty comfort food. We took home a pound of the mushroom mac and cheese for later in the week. We will be back.

Great food. Service is young and seems inexperienced but still very sweet. Great atmosphere and place for brunch.

Came this way with my wife because she was getting a hair cut at Castaldi’s Day Spa. I didn’t feel like waiting 2 hrs at the day spa so I jumped on Unilocal and found this place up the street and glad I did. They serve farm fresh food and great coffee. You can create your own omelet complete with fresh ingredients. The environment is comfortable and the staff is friendly. It’s off route 1 so don’t drive to fast or you will go right past this gem of a place

Had the mushroom soup and grilled portabella sandwich. Both were very good. The coffee cake was a delicious dessert. Will be back again.

Jen recently catered our wedding(Oct.10,2015) and did a wonderful job. The food was out of this world and she couldn’t have been more pleasant to work with. Her serving team was very professional and polite. She not only handled the food end of things, but she took care of all the furniture needs and worked with a florist to get some amazing arrangements for the tables and room. This was her first wedding to do and she did a fantastic job!

Was on my way back to Philly and stopped by this café. Great food and friendly service in a homey, comfortable atmosphere. Loved the mushroom soup, loaded with fresh mushrooms. Also enjoyed the ham panini. Definitely a little hidden gem in Chadds Ford… give it a try!

This place is in such a quaint area and it is really cute inside and they sell small antiques too that look so great on display. Wish I could give it more stars but the food was disappointing. I ordered the mushroom soup and ½ sandwich combo. I expected the soup to be delicious since it is so close to Kennett Square. The soup was just ok but the cup was so small! The ½ sandwich was very tiny too and the amount of roast beef(lunch meat I think) was not very generous either. My husband was disappointed with his turkey sandwich. It was on a small piece of white bread and he was still hungry when we left. If you have a small appetite and want good scenery this restaurant will be fine for you.

Place was quirky cute. Service was bad. Very Very slow in an empty restaurant . Mushroom soup just OK. Sandwiches were good. I never did get my chips and she asked twice if I wanted them .I was hoping for something more impressive cause I love mushrooms. This was not it . Does anyone know where to get a great bowl of mushroom soup? The«Friday Sat and Sunday«restaurant in Philly is the best I’ve found.

My wife and 3 kids ordered breakfast of a(very)small eggwhite omelet, simple egg wrap and the kids had a(very average) waffle each. I was shocked when I got the bill, it came to $ 53(without tip). It looked like my tax return, it itemized every extra charge.(I think i was charged for using the salt and pepper.)When I broke down the bill, $ 30 of milk and OJ. CRAZY!!! I just returned from NYC and we didn’t spend $ 60.00 on breakfast. if i want to spend $ 60 on a very average breakfast, I will go to The Four Seasons. The place is very charming, but I felt I was just robbed. –That was our last meal at The Mushroom Café! We will be going to Hank’s Place!

Came here on a recommendation from the visitors bureau, and glad we did. While the cup of mushroom soup is a bit small(as noted in other reviews), my wife’s bowl of mushroom soup had twice as much. The sausage stuffed mushroom appetizer was delicious. Would probably have given 5 stars for taste and atmosphere, but small portions on the cup of soup and the bread were a bit disappointing.

Have been here 3 times. All 3 times the food ranged from just ok to plain bad. I wanted to love this place because it’s cute, in a good location and has so much potential. It’s really a shame that they can’t cook tasty food. The mushroom soup was ok but runny and a bit salty. The chicken sandwich was on stale crumbly bread. The chai tea was oddly watery and tasted off.

Very cute little place with great service, however the food wasn’t so great. Thank god for the free hot dog and coors lights they were giving out in parking lot of the antique store.

The place is cute but that’s about it on the positive side of this review. The mushroom soup was good, but nothing remarkable and in very small quantity, the«milkewich» was not good particularly for the money. Very little amount of beef, almost non existing other stuffing of it and cold, dry kazer roll as a main ingredient didn’t make it very appealing. We didn’t have a clue what mushroom gravy(served in the small cup) is for in this dish. Should we dip a sandwich in it? Should we pour it over the sandwich? In any case the taste of the gravy was such that it wouldn’t make this dish any better in anyway. The pickle was good but just a spear of it was too small of a portion to enjoy. The fruit cup was small too. After $ 15 spent on 2 combos we still left hungry and not satisfied.

The place is very clean, the soup and latte were really good, but the sandwich could have been much better. I’ll go back.

My sister, my wife, and I were on our way to Longwood Gardens recently on a wet, rainy Sunday. My sister told us that this area of PA is known for mushrooms growing. We happened upon the Mushroom Café after checking for nearby restaurants on «Yelp» on my iPhone. The mushroom soup is the BEST! My wife had the chicken tarragon sandwich and Barbara and I both had the«Mikewich.» The sandwiches were excellent! Afterwards, we enjoyed shopping in the attached antique mall. Cindy and I both plan to return to this area to visit more often and will plan to make the Mushroom Café a definite stopover for lunch. You won’t go wrong if you stop for a meal here! Can’t say enough good things about the mushroom soup!!!

We stopped here randomly and will be making the long drive out VERY soon! HOLYMOLY this is good food! If you like mushrooms then yes, you have to go! The Roast Beef, sharp provolone, sandwich with mushroom gravey is hands down one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. I’ve travel;ed the world and eaten some amazing things, and this place hold it’s own even on a global scale. 10 out of 10.

An ingredient that I enjoy using in my cooking is the mushroom. The texture and flavor add something special to everything it touches. Naturally, when one is on the outskirts of the self proclaimed mushroom capital of the world(Kennett Square, PA), one must find a place to feast on the succulent beauties. Mushroom Café may be a bit hard to find for it is co-located with Brandywine River Antiques Market. It is worth the trek. I started with their house mushroom soup. Although a bit runny, it was rich and full of mushrooms. You will never look a cream of mushroom soup the same way again! I finished the meal off with the«Mikewich»: roast beef with mushroom gravy, provolone, and horseradish cream. That day, rather than using a Kaiser roll, they used brioche. A bit soft put decedent and yummy!
