I work in the area and eat here about once a week. I have eaten at all the Bud’s in the city and can say that this is by far the cleanest I have seen. I usually stick to the #4 with the sauce and chili cheese fries and it has yet to fail me. If you are not in the mood for burgers I would suggest trying the chicken which is fantastic. The staff is very nice and most of the time remembers my order before I can say it. If you are in the area I highly suggest stopping in and giving it a try.

I got my feelings hurt today when my server wiped her nose with her finger, and bit her fingernails prior to packaging my food. I didn’t say anything because I was in shock. Neither server wore gloves. I blessed my food and ate it. Gross, I know. But I didn’t want to make a fuss. This was one of my favorite spots. Even so, I won’t ever return. Sorry Buds… I’ll miss you.

Stopped in for a quick bite to hold me over until a friend of mine had finished up dinner she promised me. This is a really nice and new location… and a great addition to the Chalmette area. The employees are always nice and the place is always clean. Lots of seating inside and outside on the patio/deck. The food is pretty decent for the price. I usually stick with shrimp on bun which has never steered me wrong and I’m always satisfied. The one time I did think to order fried fish the line cook said it hadn’t thawed out all the way yet. Eeek.

Huge disappointment. I had the grilled chicken sandwich burger and it was extremely thin for $ 4.70…hugely overpriced and fries and drink are sold separately. Their BBQ sauce was good but I just left feeling ripped off. I normally give second chances but unfortunately not this time.

Hoping to conjure memories of Buds Broiler past and wound up with mediocre, lukewarm(at best) «beef» patties on decent buns with ice cold clumps of shredded cheese all drenched in sauce(I do like the sauce, but not enough to bathe in)… With a side of crispy, but bland fries. Overall, very disappointed. The staff looked miserable, weren’t busy at all and apparently don’t care too much about the customer experience. Probably a management issue there… Will not be back and will be shocked if this Buds open next year… at least if this is the typical trip. If so, go somewhere else, because this Bud isn’t for you.

Less than mediocre food. The burgers are frozen beef patties, thin and bland. The fries are super skinny and lacking flavor; they also seem to be cooked from frozen. Insanely long waits — waiting for an order of fries now, currently sitting here at 15+ minutes and counting. Do not recommend.

I have been to many other Bud’s Broilers throughout the city and this location is exactly the same. It is not a good sign when people say to you«I grew up on this, you just got to be use to it to like it». What they really mean is «Yea its over priced and the food is barely ok, but it brings back good memories so i will ignore the negative» The burger is ok, just ok the beef patty is very thin, it taste good but very thin. You need double the meat, which you can get for a price. Then they are served on generic hamburger buns, the same you get at the local grocery. They use Shredded cheddar, i do like that, better taste then the typical rubber flavorless cheese most other places serve. I love sweet tea, like every other southerner. I seen the large Tea dispenser with Luzianne Tea. When i took my first sip, this shit is not Luzianne Tea, taste like that nasty garbage Nestea that is not real tea. I also got a smoke sausage burger. They take a smoke sausage and cut it so they can grill it and slap it on their generic bun. The sausage is good, but the sauce they put on it takes away from the sausage, leaving you with some goop with smoky flavor. I got some cheese fries, that i did like allot. They use skinny mini fries with their shredded cheese. Had good flavor and a butt load of cheese. Not sure why but i ordered a Catfish Poboy, and what i got was OK at best. Not sure if the catfish is fresh /frozen /local /grocery freezer etc. The bread is good, they forgot my cheese but fixed and the catfish barely covered the bread. Like i said it tasted OK, not great not bad but just ok. The bill was about 10% higher then what i feel like we got. Everyone there if very friendly and plenty of eating space and seating. Parking is good and they are in a good location. I think most locals are going to say they should have gone to Brewsters or somewhere else local. I will probably go to Brewster’s or Crave down da road.
