So very sad to report that this establishment had a HUGE fire during the night. Fire department is still on scene. No injuries have been reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

Came here for a company lunch. Lunch buffet during the week: $ 10 per person. I dont know of other times and pricing. The food is very fresh, seasoned well, and delicious. I like goat meat, but they are often chewy and gamy, but this place has definitely perfected the business of cooking goat. Theirs was tender, flavorful, and they have somehow managed to remove that weird goaty aftertaste(lol). Tandoori chicken will bring the tears not only due to the yummy factor, but cuz it is most definitely spicy. Chicken biryani was on point. They have other dishes that I cant pronounce at all, but all in all, their buffet was delicious. Now, they dont have that much variety, but more often than not, i do prefer quality vs quantity and this place is a great example of that. The place is clean, the ambiance is right on the classier side of things, service was good, and the food is on point. I highly recommend.

Many people remember Bombay grill from its previous owners but it reopened under new ownership in 2015 and it’s been completely renovated. The décor is much nicer than most other Indian restaurants in Atlanta and the food is fantastic

Right off the bat, why on Earth do they call it Bombay Grill if they serve mostly south indian food. I went here for the lunch buffet and was quickly seated. The ambience is great with nice comfortable booths, fast friendly service but my other tidbit is it’s a buffet with all you can eat so drinks should come along with that as well which struck me as unusual compared to most places. Okay the buffet was okay but was totally turned off by the lack of variety being indian myself and wanted some home cooked similar cooking but know to go elsewhere in the future.

Came here with my boyfriend for the first time a few weeks ago on a Tuesday night. So not much of a crowd. I got the Goat Biryani, and he got the Veg Pakora and one of the dosas. I’ll admit I’m not an Indian food connoisseur, but I thought my Biryani was really good! It was also pretty spicy, and I eat a lot of spicy food so am typically hard to impress with spiciness. The veg pakora was good; I honestly wasn’t a huge fan of the dosa, but my boyfriend seemed to enjoy it. Overall, good food and the portion sizes were pretty generous. Service was good, but we also weren’t really there at a peak time.

Loved this place! Went on a Thursday and plan on going back today, actually! The décor is wonderful and the staff is very friendly. My husband and I were missing a taste of home and his mom’s cooking, so we stopped in and were very satisfied. The food was delicious, and it made me feel like I was at my in-laws for a big family meal! The meat had more bones in it than we would have liked, but it won’t deter us. This has become our new go-to Indian restaurant!

I went to Bombay Grill on Friday night(9÷18÷15) with a big group of friends. The first thing that I look for in a restaurant is the health department’s report. I could not find it anywhere on the walls in the entry way, so I went over to the bar area and looked on the walls there. On the wall were many different papers but I didn’t see the health department report. Then, I saw a yellow piece of paper that was covered by a white piece of paper. Not wanting to walk up and move papers behind the bar, I asked a restaurant worker if she could show me their health department report. She said that she couldn’t find it, so I suggested that she move the paper that appeared to be in front of the yellow paper. She did so, and the yellow paper was indeed the health report. The good news is the restaurant got an 86, which is not the worst score I’ve ever seen. The bad news is that it was out of compliance for insects, bugs and rodents. Had I been there with just my husband or one other friend, I would have left at that point. However, I was with a big group. I shared this with them. They are all far less germophobic than I am, and they agreed we would stay at the restaurant. Then, they took us back to our table. After we settled in, I told our waiter that I had a Groupon for $ 50 off the bill(I’d paid $ 25). He said that was fine and that I just needed to show it to him when he brought the bill. We ordered and received appetizers(samosas and naan), which both tasted fine. Then, one of our friends received his meal. Yep, you read that right, just one of us. Of course, we told him to go ahead and eat so that his food wouldn’t get cold — thinking that ours would be coming right behind his. It was at least another 30 – 40 minutes before any other food came. Our friend who received his food had eaten all of his food and put his plate aside well before anyone else received any food. Another restaurant employee came out to apologize, saying they were slammed. We saw maybe 10 groups in the entire restaurant. After the food came, another friend mentioned that not one table had been bussed since we’d arrived. I began looking around and saw that almost every table was littered with debris from other diners. It also appeared that this wasn’t an issue for the restaurant staff, since no one was coming around to clean any of it up. It’s worth noting that the food tasted good. We had Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Biryani, something that looked like an Indian version of a fajita with lamb, shrimp, and green(!), red and regular colored chicken, a couple of vegetarian dishes and I think one or two other dishes closer to the other end of the table. Everyone liked their food. Then, the time came for us to pay our bill. A different individual who we had not dealt with before came out to bring us our bill. When I told him we had a Groupon, he told me that I couldn’t use it, because the Groupon was only for tables of two or four. To be fair, when I went back to the Groupon site after returning home, it did say that it was $ 50 off for four people. My assumption, however, was that they meant at least four people. It would seem to me that bringing a group of 10 people to a restaurant would meet the acceptable limit for a four person Groupon. I am, though, willing to accept that I should have done a better job of understanding what I was buying. As we were on our way out, we walked through a restaurant absolutely full of dirty, debris-covered tables and did not see anyone in the restaurant doing any cleaning. It made sense that they have a bug /rodent problem if dirty dishes are left out for extended periods of time. At the door, the gentleman who told me that I couldn’t use the Groupon said that I would have to use my Groupon«the next time» I come to the restaurant. Regardless of whether they should have honored the Groupon or not, given all the other issues with the restaurant, it’s safe to say there will not be a next time.

Went for mine and my dad’s birthday in September — loved it. Good food and amazing server — Shivani… I recommend it highly and I am a NY foodie.

I was pleasantly surprised at the service, food, and ambiance of this place. I’ve tried some of the other Indian buffets in the immediate area and this blows them out of the water by far. They have different dishes throughout the week. Service is prompt and friendly. The spice level varies on the different dishes. My only complaint is there aren’t many dishes available. I’m believe a total of 12 different dishes. Other buffets in the area are stacked but lacking in other areas. I would recommend this place to a person looking to try good Indian food at a reasonable price.

Went for dinner on a Friday night because we had a scout mob and it’s close to home. It was OK. The place was almost empty except for a few large parties, but the dining room was quiet and the staff very friendly. Started off with the Avocado papdi chaat. It was flavorful, but the Avocados were the most unripe I’ve ever eaten. I couldn’t get my fork into them they were so hard! My husband accidentally flung a piece across the restaurant just trying to stab a piece. We let the waiter know, and he said all their Avocados were like that. He did offer a replacement app but we declined. He had the spicy goat curry, and I ordered a lamb dish(can’t for the life of me remember the name) and received chicken. I’m not one to complain and it was flavorful so I kept it. The curry was decent and had good spice, though I’m sure they could have made it spicier. The waiter was wonderful, very attentive even when the place got busier. Kept our drinks full and refilled the rice as it got low. I probably won’t come back as I can get better quality food for the same price elsewhere.

The Bombay Grill can be found on the access road that parallels I285 along the North end of the Perimeter between Chamblee Dunwoody Rd and N Peachtree Rd(the exist signs also lists N Shallowford Rd). Savoy Dr is on the inside of the Perimeter — you’ll also see the massive Bowlmore facility nearby so it might be fun to plan both a buffet and bowling adventure. Bombay has been at the location for many years — it’s an interesting if a bit dated building that contained many tables and a fairly simple buffet line, originally. It was also a bit tired and offered very mediocre food and eventually closed more than a year ago. I think the last time I ate at the original was over two years ago and I was little impressed. I’m happy to say that the new management has done a fantastic job both revamping the tired interior and producing much, much better food. The exterior has been freshened up a bit, but it’s really the interior that shines with new booths that provide a bit of intimacy that wasn’t present originally, and much nicer, more upscale fixtures and trim details. There are also some rather astonishing expansive artworks on the walls that provide stunning vistas into Indian life and culture. Kudos to the designer who took this place to the next level — there’s both elegance and style where previously there was none. I’d feel comfortable entertaining any group at this restaurant. I came during lunch and elected to have the buffet. Don’t let the line fool you as there are many options that are a bit unobvious. The current hot-line has a soup kettle(which today contained a hot-and-sour soup that was spicier, more acidic and heartier than the typical mulligatawny), a long hot-table and a short table at ninety degrees that contained cold items. I thought the buffet food good but for a restaurant with Bombay in the name would have expected more Northern Indian items(even the Northern items seemed in need of a bit more spices as the flavors were a bit indistinct). The restaurant seemed to have more South-Indian items that belied its name(not that this is a bad thing but my South Indian friends noticed it right away). The other thing that was noticed, at least by my vegetarian friends, was that the veggie items were mixed with the meat items which is atypical of Indian buffets in the US — it doesn’t bother me but Bombay may want to adjust this. The other unexpected treat was the push-pot of Indian style latte — it wasn’t the heavily spiced tea-cooked-with-milk that I experienced in Bangalore, but was still good and not something you typically see(although you can sometimes ask for it) — kudos to Bombay for having this extra touch. Service in a word was fantastic, with many people coming by our large table and taking care of us. Between the updated interior, the decent food and the great service, I’ll be coming back, as will my friends. EDIT2015.07.26 I spotted a typo and thought to update this review slightly. Since I wrote this review I’ve eaten here a couple of more times and have had the same great food and service. If you come on Friday-Sunday the buffet is a couple of dollars more expensive, however you get an extra line added(so there’s about 1⁄3rd more items to select), PLUS there’s a chef setup to serve chaat — last friday this was a veggie samosa covered in chic peas, herbs, sauces and deliciousness(look at my photos). Well worth trying and actually, I’m thinking about stopping by again today! (longer review on my food blog, with photos)

I went to this place on a weekday for dinner to celebrate a special occasion and came back disappointed. Pros: 1) Ambience 2) Attentive Staff Cons: Food. Ordered both South Indian dish(Dosa) also bread basket. Dosa was served with perished sambar(lentil soup) and could smell the spoilt smell when placed on the table. Coconut chutney was made from mature coconut and smel the coconut oil smell. Ordered Chicken Makhani for side dish. Chicken was chewy and easily figure its reheated one and not freshly made. Rice served with it was ver dry and a reheated old stuff. Usually I don’t complain food but it was total let down. After informing the waiter to remove the sambar from table. Supervisor came and tried to explain the food may be spoilt because refrigeration is not working properly in the kitchen area and he told us that he will compliment us with sweet kulfi which I humbly rejected. Think of kulfi’s status if refrigeration is not working. It’s a basic check before a food is served to customer. Can’t accept any explanation when a spoilt food is served on the table.

I have been to this place twice now and am not sure whether I would like to go back for the following reasons — Not sure why this restaurant has Bombay in its name, the food has more of South Indian flavor. Sambhar, idli, dosa, rice items are fine but all of the North Indian dishes were way below average in taste. They need to work on organizing their buffet well. They had veg and non veg food mixed both the times I went there. Even desserts were spread at different corners. Things I liked about this place are ambiance(better than other typical Indian restaurants), location(you need a lot of Indian restaurants near dunwoody), and servers bringing hot breads to table. **I had a hard time in deciding between 2 and 3 stars.

I went for the lunch buffet on a weekday and was really impressed with the service and the ambiance. The space has been renovated and feels new and very comfortable with booths, lots of space between tables and beautiful finishes including a gorgeous ceiling. But what really struck me at Noon on a weekday was to be greeted at the door and then welcomed wholeheartedly when I asked about takeout for the buffet. I was provided with ample supplies for packing my takeout and the process was very pleasant. It gave me a chance to see the beautiful décor and taste a broad range of offerings. The food was clearly a notch or two above the standard Indian lunch buffet fare. I look forward to returning in the evening for belly dancing and music. I think there is a nice bar area that is being refurbished as well.

I happened to be in town with my family, and with a quick Unilocal search and craving for Indian cuisine, we decided to stop by Bombay Grill. First off, I have to say that the new managerial staff is incredible. One of the owners was kind enough to walk me through the restaurant’s most popular dishes, explain some of the more obscure foods and ingredients to me, and accommodate my sister’s allergies(she requested that her vegetarian meal be cooked in separate cookware). He seemed to be making rounds at all the tables along with the waitstaff, ensuring every one’s meals were on par. It’s rare to find that type of customer service in family-owned restaurants. For our meal, we started off with Chicken 65 and the Paneer Pakoras. The chicken was incredibly flavorful and cooked to perfection, unlike other drier Indian chicken dishes I’ve had. Our waiter informed us of the many(albeit fictitious) origins of the dish: the chicken takes 65 days to marinade, it’s made with 65 different spices, etc. A little bit of Indian culinary folklore definitely added to the meal! The Paneer Pakoras were equally as amazing — spicy, crispy, and served with four kinds of chutney. I’ve never had Tandoori Salmon before, but holy moly… it’s a must have! It came out on a piping hot sizzler and was certainly the highlight of our meal. We also had the Chicken Malai Kabob(per our waiter’s recommendation) and Muttar Paneer, both of which were incredibly flavorful and fresh. And lastly — the ambience. I expected some rather blasé, hole-in-the-wall décor, but this restaurant felt like a classier Indian restaurant. We were there on a Saturday night, so there was a belly dancer performance, which gave the restaurant a super-cool middle-eastern/Indian fusion vibe. We had the chance to talk to the performer as well; she actually studied Indian philosophy in India and can tell you a thing or two about it. Definitely recommend stopping by! A+ food, service, and entertainment.

Nice place. Great looking and clean on the inside. Has the look and feel of an Upscale Indian Restaurant. The food is a typical Indian lunch Buffet. Nothing bad yet nothing exceptional. Convenient location to meet friends so I will probably frequent this place often.
