Neutral Cycle

Every time I’ve come in, the service has been excellent. The staff is always friendly and helpful!
My first time at Neutral, I was finally buying a new bike after getting by with an old hand-​me-​down. They let me take several out on test rides until I found one that I loved. We went online to look at different colors when we saw the manufacturer was selling the bike for $ 50 less and Neutral offered to match the price! It’s been a few months with the new bike and it’s been nothing but wonderful to me, and Neutral has been there for me for all bike-​related hiccups.
A couple weeks after I bought, I realized I threw out the receipts for my bike and lock which I needed for a theft protection warrantee. I went back to Neutral and they were able to pull up my past receipts through some detective work and print them out for me. Even though I didn’t have the receipts because of my own lack of responsibility, they pulled through.
Then the other day, my bike had fallen while it was locked to a parking meter and the wheel began rubbing up against the front fender, making it really difficult to ride. I brought the bike in, expecting to part with at least $ 15. I walked in and they fixed it in 10 minutes. When I asked how much it was, they asked me to write a review and we could call it even.

This shop is my new go to for bike repairs. They were prompt, professional and reasonable. They charged me $ 10 for a repair that Champaign Cycles charged $ 28 and turned it around quicker.

Neutral cycle is the best! These guys are genuinely nice people and very knowledgeable. All work done is very reasonably priced and done well.

A couple years back I was riding my bike to my ex’s apartment. As I was riding, my front tire blew and I lost control and fell. There were a bunch of people hanging out on the porch of a house and one guy ran up to me to see if I was okay. His name was Tim. He took my bike to his house and said he could fix it. He got my information down and said I could pick it up tomorrow. The next day I stopped by and he charged me only for the parts and sent me on my way.
Since then, Tim has grown his business and moved into the beautiful new space that the community knows as Neutral Cycle. His business may have grown larger, but Tim has managed to keep the same level of care and personal service. From the friendly staff to the great prices, Neutral Cycle has affirmed its role in the Champaign-​Urbana community as its premier bike shop.
I am leaving for Chicago within 10 days, but I promised Tim I would buy a bike from him before leaving. Tim and his staff have helped me countless times with my previous bike (like that tire popping incident) and were very gracious to offer me great savings on a bike rental when my car was in the repair shop for over a month. Even if I were to disregard those personal experiences I’ve had with this shop, I would still choose to purchase from this shop because this is a fantastic locally owned business ran by a passionate, friendly, and knowledgeable staff, providing excellent service for an excellent price.

I walked in because I needed my gears adjusted, and the guys in the shop were friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. I decided get a basic tune up for $ 35, a super deal! At many other places, you can pay twice that.

Tim helped me more like I was his longtime best friend than a walk-​in customer. This place boasts a friendly, knowledgable staff, who so clearly love what they do. I highly recommend this shop.

Very friendly staff. I enjoyed talking to the owner Tim. He asked me what I was looking for and I gave him a rough budget and idea. Needless to say, they picked out a sexy bike for me at a very fair price! Would definitely recommend these guys to anyone looking for a new bike on Campus

I never really liked local bike shops until now. Reasonably priced goods, happy and friendly employees, top notch service. If you need help finding certain products, they can help you there. Service with a smile and a laugh. They also offer diverse bicycle rentals!
