Thank goodness for Daniel and Joe and the rest of the staff at Neutral Cycle! They have saved me and my bike so many times. They are pleasant to talk to and their newly remodeled workshop is clean and fresh. I have also purchased a custom-built bike from Neutral Cycle, and my fiancé loves it! They custom fit the bike to his height and built it with my specifications and budget in mind(even though they were able to make some very helpful recommendations since their bike knowledge is obviously more extensive than my own). The business practices at the heart of Neutral Cycle are really inspiring. Their business is doing good for the community, and I recommend any person to take all of their bicycle needs to Neural Cycle.

Great store! I went there after having gone to several other bike shops and being disappointed. I was frustrated and feeling a bit insulted by the way the other servicemen in the area had treated me. When I walked into this store, I was helped immediately, and they walked me through my options. They found a bike that fit my needs/budget and even helped me install the ulock to the bike frame. They helped me with another situation, unrelated to their store, and were soo friendly. I will definitely be coming back to this store for all of my bike needs.

The folks at Neutral Cycle give you good service for a good price and treat you like a friend no matter who you are! Very knowledgable staff who are happy to answer questions about bikes and will even teach you how to do repairs as they work(unless they’re extra busy, of course, then you have to be content with just watching). Definitely the best prices I’ve seen in CU, whether it be for a tune-up, repairs, or buying a sweet bike(great variety of vintage and brand new)! Also, the shop just has a wonderful homey feel. Wood-burning stove? Cute doggies? Cool photos? Love it!

These guys are awesome! Someone jacked up my bicycle last night, and Neutral Cycle was close by, so I went in. Even though I was just a walk-in, Brian helped me right away and solved the problem in no time at all. The charge was SUPER reasonable. Definitely going back if I need anything else!

The guys at this shop are SAINTS! I brought my bike in on a Monday for a tune up and it was done the same day and for an extremely reasonable price. That same week I was hit by a car, while on my bike, and was able to take it back to see if they could fix it up. They actually fixed it the same day and for less than what a tune up would cost at another shop. Joe and Daniel were just phenomenal and I fully intend on going back any time i need some bike repairs/maintenance.

Not only are the mechanics knowledgable, prompt and organized but they are also super friendly. I got my bike tune up in a day, after one of the mechanics offered to do it in an hour! The shop stocks some high quality stuff and they can order almost anything you want. Neutral’s team of mechanics and staff are very visible and contribute a lot to the cycling community. They even host a weekly potluck. The guys at Neutral Cycles know their stuff. Champaign-Urbana would not be the same without them!

I’ve been going to Neutral since it was just Tim working on dumpster bikes in a garage that was falling apart. Now he’s got a full staff working on every bike imaginable in a newly renovated shop. I’ve spent money at every bike shop in Champaign Urbana… Neutral is the only one I would trust with my time/money, and more importantly my bikes. Mechanics: coolest Prices: cheapest Garden veggies: freshest Shop dogs: cutest

Quickly growing bike shop in CU. These guys always have a lot of stuff going on in the shop and are always doing cool stuff with the community. If you ever stop by, you’ll be hard pressed to find something you don’t like about Tim and the rest of the staff. You’ll also have to strain to find something you don’t like about the shop’s interior design. Everything about this place is beautiful, so just come and let these guys make your own bike beautiful.

Meeting Tim during my sophomore year, allowing me to use tools in his cluttered old garage, has helped me become a better biker. Neutral Cycle helped me make my way into the local biking scene. This was before it even had a sign and it was just him alone. Their shop has all the tools needed for your noble steed. They have very skillful and friendly mechanics who have fixed Walmart bicycles to top-of-the-line race bicycles. They have taught me several skills to improve my bike as well. Neutral Cycle exemplifies the meaning of community. The term community has two distinct commutative meanings: 1) Community can refer to a usually small, social unit of any size that shares common values. –they has those great community potluck dinners on Sunday nights. –invites anyone to hangout, have a cup of tea, work on the garden, etc. –their love of all things bike 2) in biology, a community is a group of interacting living organisms sharing a populated environment. –more than just people, all animals are welcome. –you’ll probably get to meet the two dogs: Tomi and Pariah.(they love meeting new people) We cannot ask for a better LBS(local bike shop).

Tim and company have been working on my bikes for a few years now and have always shown dedication in their work. Especially since Daniel joined the team, I feel like the work they do is very satisfactory. They go above and beyond to give your bike back in the best condition that they can make it at a reasonable price. My only advice is that if you’re someone who can’t live without your bike for a few days, that you find out when they will have time to work on your bike. They are pretty busy so sometimes they can get backed up for a couple of weeks during busy seasons. 3÷10÷14 Sorry guys… had to remove a star because they’ve got so much work and not enough mechanics that I’ve received less than satisfactory work lately! 4÷25÷14 So sorry guys, I had to yet again reduce my score. My bottom bracket fell apart while I was on a 50 mile ride. I know Neutral Cycle has been aware of my bottom bracket issues yet, this happened. If this was a possibility, why didn’t anyone take care of it or care to tell me? Great for commuter bikes. If you’re a bit more serious, I would take my bike elsewhere.
