Team Gauze

Betty Gauze could screw up a two car funeral. Rancid human beings. I wouldn’t trust her «team» to sweep out a utility shed. Difficult, unpleasant, incompetent, venal, abrasive, and stupid. Seriously, ask me how I really feel.

If Democritus was right, Betty Gauze and her team must be a truly unhappy cohort. Avoid these realtors at all cost!
When my parents needed me to sell their house, I chose Team Gauze to help me make the listing. To my surprise, the realtors talked me into a sky-​high selling price, despite the bad housing market. Months later, we hadn’t gotten any offers, and I suggested lowering the listing price. They protested furiously. «There are showings happening every day.» «Your first offer is right around the corner.» They were ebullient about the marketing they had done on my behalf.
So I asked the neighbor how many showings there were.
None.
He didn’t even know the place was for sale.
No sign out front.
No visits from other realtors.
Finally I demanded the price be lowered to 240k, which was, honestly, at about market-​value. We got our first offer right away. And Team Gauze, in their wisdom, rejected it… without mentioning it to me! Only when the buyer’s agent mentioned it to my neighbor did I end up getting wind of it. I was livid.
I forced Team Gauze to provide a counter-​offer on my behalf. They bungled that operation, and offered at 212k instead of 221k, as I had asked. The buyer accepted this incorrect offer, and we nearly lost the sale trying to sort that out.
And as a finishing touch, at the closing, Betty Gauze tried to alter the terms of the deal, claiming that her cut should be computed based on the original listing price, not the final sale price. (No wonder they wanted me to start with a high listing!) I literally had to walk out of the room before she backed down.
Unprofessional and unethical. If you hire Team Gauze, be prepared to take consolation from the Ancient Greeks.
