Beer is warm, Golden Tee game is constantly broken and they won’t do anything about it. Management is a joke and doesn’t care about the customers. Try Ramsey or Andover locations.

Food was alright but the service was atrocious. Never got the waters we asked for until we were almost ready to leave(and had to ask several times for them) and it took 30 minutes to get beers while we waited in the hot sun. Server didn’t know what beers they had, and even once I had a drink menu she said it was wrong and we couldn’t get certain beers. Never got asked if we wanted more drinks until it was time for our bill even though we spent most of the time with empty glasses. Also they never cleared our finished plates. Took three times asking to get the to go boxes we needed, and caught attitude from the server for asking for them. I give second chances sometimes, but this won’t be one of them.

Went last night to grab a drink with my family and felt super uncomfortable because one of their bouncers(A bald headed guy) was giving us dirty looks and made us feel like he was«watching» us for whatever reason. Mind you I was warned about this bouncer upon arrival because he’s known for being a hot head. Wen’t to leave after only sitting at the bar for about 45 minutes and that same bouncer basically followed me outside. I turned around to go find out where my ride was and both bouncers said«your not coming back in» I asked why and that’s then things went south. Be threatened to kick my ass among other things in front of my family and friends. The bald bouncer actually followed me to my aunts SUV and got in my face. So then today I call and ask to speak with a manager. His name was Zack and he informed me he was the general manager. I told him a had an issue the night before and before I could finish he asked if I was the Travis guy. I said yes and he began to tell me how his employees called him last night(after 3am which i highly doubt) and they told him I was being rude to our server and calling them names. Be basically yelled at me(the customer) and told me never to return again and hung up on me. I have two family member that work at this establishment plus I know several others and its sad that GM didn’t listen to a paying customer. I work in the industry as well as frequent many bars and restaurants and this by far was the worse experience I’ve even had in the service industry. If i was being so unruly then why did the bartenders give me and several employees cut shots? Hopefully someone gives that GM some customer service training. And don’t get me wrong, I’ve been to other Willy’s and they were amazing, even this location was until last night. I’ll never return again.

Willy McCoy’s is the local joint that my parents and I always go to when we are hungry. I think one of the reasons I like it so much is because they share the building with the VFW? Or maybe it’s because I love the 2-for-1’s all day everyday? Or maybe it’s because I love the country saloon style interior and the HUGE bar in the middle of the restaurant. I’ve tried tons of things off of the menu, and everything I’ve had has been good:
+Cheese Curds: These are great — my favorite part is the chipotle ranch that they are served with +Chicken Bacon Wrap: Very tasty! I liked the breaded fried chicken. +Cuban: I really liked the mustard aioli that the Cuban is served with. I would have liked to have more of a Angry Orchard taste to the pulled pork. +Bruschetta Chicken Flat Bread: Really good. The balsamic really adds to the flavor of the pizza. It is very thin, I would recommend getting a side if you plan on sharing it. We’ve always had good service and a good experience. Just a heads up, if the parking lot looks full, the restaurant may not be. There are a few banquet rooms in the building so it is sometimes deceiving.

Horrible! We’ve been here a couple times and it’s been okay, however we went in for lunch yesterday and it was awful… we ordered about 12:30, the food came out around 1:15 and it was all cold, my burger was on the raw side with no seasoning and the bun felt like it came out of the fridge and was then dipped in grease. Our entire group had cold fries too. When the waitress came to check on our food we told how bad it was and she got us a basket of hot fries, she then went and spoke to the manager and had him remove the burgers from tabs. The manager never came to speak to us which I think is sad since it wasn’t that busy when we finally got our cold food. If it wasn’t for our great waitress they would get 0 stars! Not sure we’ll eat here again. 2−4 – 1’s on some beers and drinks aren’t worth it if the foods awful

Ordered a Juicy McCoy. Was told it would be ‘medium to medium rare’. It was raw. I like a rare burger but this was too much for me. Make sure you tell them what you want up front because you wait and wait for your server to return.

Went there on a Saturday night around 10 o’clock and: There’s employees drinking with their staff shirts on. Pool table was out of order. Hockey game ate our money. Gross chicken wings– Over fried, badly seasoned and tiny. Bad service. Seems like the place had nobody in charge and the inmates were running the prison. It’s bad enough having to spend time in God forsaken Champlin but when a place manages to screw up fried food you know you’ve found someplace really«special».

The juicy Mccoy is a beast of a burger, perfectly seared and cooked medium rare. Could barely finish the burger, but that’s probably because of the delicious appetizer I had, the southwest Fiesta chicken dip. Only thing wrong with the dip was that there wasn’t enough dip to finish the chips with. Overall, speedy service and you can’t argue with 2 for 1 drinks ALL day EVERYday.

I was leery about trying this place because of several reviews noting bad service, but I’m glad we did. Our service was outstanding, and our food was delicious. They were very busy for a Thursday evening, but we got seated right away. Our waitress appeared promptly and checked in at all the right times. My husband’s steak was cooked rare, as requested. The Whiskey Chicken Sandwich was very tasty. We will return.

Poor management, Rude servers. Overall, I have never had a good experience and I have been to this bar 10+ times. It is Nearby my home but I will never go again. The staff changes daily and they lack the training needed to assist you as a customer. Overall, this is a well below average establishment that should be thriving in a «bar happy» area. Better management is needed in the worst way!

Great Pub Food. It was a Monday, so all Burgers were ½ price, and it was Happy Hour, so all beers were 2 for 1. I got The Juicy McCoy Hamburger, and my son got the Bacon BBQ Deluxe Hamburger. Both burgers were exceptional, cooked exactly as we asked, and there was plenty of French fries. We sat at the bar, and the place was very busy, but not full. It did take what I considered a long time for the bartenders to acknowledge we were there, but once they made contact, the service was great. FYI, the 2 for 1 beer special, literally means they pour you 2 beers, so while your drinking your 1st beer, your 2nd beer is sitting there getting warm. The prices are very reasonable.

Went here for a family birthday party for my father-in-law and was pleasantly surprised. It was 2-for-1 all day so that was awesome! I had the ahi tuna salad and it was one of the best I’ve had at any restaurant. My husband had the inferno burger and waffle fries with seasoned sour cream – other than being a little over cooked, he really enjoyed it. Everyone with us was pleased with their food and the portions. Our server was very sweet and attentive. Fun décor and good atmosphere – will definitely make it a point to come back!

I came in super late at night craving a burger. Got in at about 10pm, got greeted and seated right away. Took a while to actual get some service from our waitress, we ended up ordering our food, apps and meal all at once not knowing how long it’ll be before she shows up again. I gave this place a rating a 3.5 solely based on food however service from our waitress would have to be a low 1 rating. Since it was a Sunday, the wings were $ 0.50 each, so we decided to give the boom boom wings a try. Fantastic– it was a mix between a chipotle BBQ and ranch flavor. For our meal, I got a very basic BBQ bacon burger. The burger was cooked to my liking and the BBQ sauce was really good. My husband got the 70⁄30 burger which he absolutely loved. He asked to have the seasoned sour cream with his waffle fries. It never came out with it, and even after asking our waitress for it– it still never came. After asking for a box for our leftovers, we waited for quite a while to get our tab. Again, I would totally come back here for food but the waitress took a long time with everything and had very poor server etiquette.

Only bar around this area that has darts and pool! So a bonus in my book! 2−4-1s is also a great selling point! Food was good, nothing to rave about but not so bad that I would never go back for more. Nice outdoor /patio area! The bar staff could be a little more attentive, my boyfriend and I sat at the bar for 15 – 20 minutes before being noticed… quite frustrating!

AWFULFORFAMILIES. We went here on the recommendation of a couple of friends. We got there at about 5:30 p.m. I said«4 adults, two children.» They did not ask if we wanted a high chair or booster and said it’d be a 20 minute wait. We waited over half an hour and were then seated at a large booth, elevated from the ground. We asked for a booster seat, and the waitress brought over a high chair which was over a foot too low. We said we’d just hold our baby(we had a 9 month old and 3.5 year old with us). She then gave us coasters and left. No drink order, nothing. Didn’t come back, and after ten minutes of waiting, we walked out. Total time spent at Willy McCoy’s with zero food or drink and awful service — 40 minutes. WHAT A WASTEOFTIME.

Who can complain with 2for1? It’s a good vibe and solid pub fare. Plan to wait 45+ on a Friday night. It’s my new favorite in Champlin.

The server comes to the table. «What can I get you to drink?» Fail. No «hi guys, welcome», no «have you been in before?» No «my names steve and I’m gonna be taking care of you guys». I ask for a beer list. He whips out his smartphone and pulls it up and drops it in front of me to scroll through. They have this smartphone table side ordering app. It looks weird to me as all the servers are walking around on their phones. Maybe working. Maybe doing status updates. Who knows? I ask about a beer. He can’t tell me about it. Fail. Food was pretty good. I had a french dip that they make with shredded pot roast. Coleslaw though had celery seed in it. So for the rest of the evening I was biting into celery seed. Unpleasant. The server didn’t check back and it took him forever to bring the check. I actually had to hunt him down for it. Space was nice. Food was better than average and the server was nice enough, but lacked any real training or systems or leadership. Almost Willy. Get that’s service thing on line and you could have something special.

Great shrimp sliders and 2 for 1 drink specials! This new location has a great lodge feel with a very open floor plan. The server was very attentive and friendly.

My first visit to this new location – okay – an average sports bar. Our lunch visit to this new location(formerly an American Legion) was a mixed bag. The food was okay. I had a burger(Little Lucy) and my daughter had a «secret recipe» sloppy joe(Sloppy McCoy). No big deal… average sports bar food. The fried pickles were good but over cooked and the portions were super small, very stingy compared to other restaurants. The server was friendly and attentive. But she was also clueless. We had multiple SIMPLE questions about the menu and the food, and she didn’t know anything and had to run in back several times to ask someone else. Don’t these people get any training? The building décor was pretty interesting, a rustic old barn vibe with a lot of rough cut reclaimed wood. As a side note, both front doors had standing ashtrays that were filthy, with cigarette butts and gum wrappers all over the ground. It looks really tacky, like someone is NOT paying attention. At 1:00 in the afternoon, someone should have been sent outside to police trash from the drunks the night before. The coolest thing about this place is the cold war era military tank left over from the American Legion. I guess it would be okay if I lived close by and wanted to stop to hang out, get drunk, and watch a game with the buddies. As for us, we won’t be back again. There are too many cool places waiting to be discovered. –Daddy Maxx Retro P. S. I called the American Legion and they said that they’re still at this location but they now only use a small portion of the building, the rest is rented to Willy McCoy’s.
