Cool neighborhood bar. Pretty good prices and food for bar food. Haven’t tried a whole lot yet, but I’ll be back.

Ate in the patio. Had really good fried mushrooms. Really nice atmosphere paired with good service.

This place always has good service. Lots of beer to chose from. Lots of tvs to watch sporting events. The food is good, nothing is bad. Give them a try.

This place has great food and a fun atmosphere. It can be very loud when busy. We like that it serves craft beer and domestics. Prices are reasonable. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because we have had varying quality of service. We walked out last night after sitting at our table for 10 minutes and not even being acknowledged. Since my boyfriend is diabetic, he needed at least a soda and ended up having a scary low blood sugar by the time we got someplace else. Granted they were slammed, but we were in there another time when it was dead and almost left for the same reason. The server caught us that time and we had a better experience. Overall, it’s a great place and a place we frequent.

First time here and was a big let down. The food was decent and the mixed drink was good but there were some problems arising from laziness or lack of attention. The server seemed to need some adderall because every time some food was brought out something was missing. Took three tries for her to bring out some ranch for our fries. The food was good but the fried jalapeños were almost in one ball leaving a chunk of batter. The gyros were nice but the one that supposedly had 50% more meat had the same as the regularly priced one. The atmosphere was basic which would be fine if decent music was playing or just to have some sort of constant music. The station must have been changed at least three times and the volume was messed with every time. Maybe the workers were still hung over from the night before or just ready to leave to start their weekend but it was a disappointing first trip here. Hopefully if I come around again it will improve.

Stopped in to sample the beers only, and not the food. Decent little place including a small outdoor patio. m it was a nice evening so we took a seat on the patio. Their beer selection was pretty large and had a good selection of local and other microbrews. Ordered a couple beers and enjoyed the weather. Our server was nice enough, but not super attentive. The atmosphere was just okay. Basically a good spot to grab a couple quality beers, but besides the beer selection, it was simply okay.

This is my Cheers, my neighborhood bar. Owned and operated by friends, this is my go to place when i want a bite and a few really good beers, and don’t want to wander far from home. The ever changing craft beer menu is incredible and what caused places like Applebee’s to vacate Chandler altogether. They just couldn’t compete. The menu, in part originally created by my long time good friend and beer expert King James Swann, is a bit like my old hangout in Phoenix where he also worked, Hazelwoods 1st place.(They were known for their wings ;). Upon permanently relocating to Chandler, the proximity to the Monk was actually part of my house buying decision. I have to have a good neighborhood bar close by. Its a must. I need wings! The owner Jim is a cool guy, the bartenders are all awesome and like friends. I love the regulars too. People often underestimate the importance of a good bartender/libation therapist. Plus theres like 57 TVs to watch sports on. Go Monk!

My husband wasn’t impressed with his gyro, said it tasted like it had been out for a while. I can’t even remember what I ate here which is saying something. I don’t think we’ll be back.

Came here with friends for boneless wings Wednesday night. Packed house which shows it’s popular. High volume, lots of energy and great food. Got original, garlic parmesan, and thai peanut wings to change it up. Loved the food but couldn’t hear over the noise of the crowd.

my boyfriend went there tonight for the $ 0.99 special on their grill chicken tenders. you know how you crave something all day and finally your going to get it??? Just when he was about to dig in there is a 4 — 5 inch long hair draped over his tenders. He takes the initiative to not bring attention to himself and even asked to speak to the manager on the side and not at this table. The manager who was trying to avoid talking to a customer and who had long hair says what do you want me to do about it? Then in a very nonchalant way says it it must have happened on the way to the table. mentions how he’s been in the business for over 20 years. Then I asked if you have been in the business for 20 years why do you not know what you’re supposed to do. why don’t you ask do you want me to replace that for you and hey let’s make your beer and a meal on me. I don’t know about you but I’m so tired of people thinking their doing you a favor by you eating in their restaurant. Its called customer service and if you want to keep your business open then you treat your customers right how about that? maybe I’m mad because I was just about to go in there and get my own chicken tenders but more so because you could do better long hair manager

I came after a long day at work to drink a couple beers with my coworkers. About 1 beer and 2 shots in each we were approached by one of the servers(not ours, she was FANTASTIC) and she said«don’t take this the wrong way». To sum it up, the family of 5 was offended at our laughs and cheers. To say the least, it was a party of 10 from our bilingual department at work, can’t believe racial profiling is ALIVEANDWELL. Then we were cut off and left

The best part about our visit at Hungry Monk was the soda, listening to the The Thong Song, and that our server was really nice. I really wanted to like this place since it’s close to the house but I just can’t. We ordered 10 boneless honey hot wings, they were ok, not great. I prefer the wings at Zipps or Native much better. I ordered a chicken pita with chips, chicken was dry and even adding the sauce was still pretty flavorless. My boyfriend ordered a burger and onion rings, the cheese was sliding off the burger and he said it just tasted greasy. Onion rings were cold. He sent the whole thing back and ordered a Philly Cheese steak, said the cheese whiz had a very sharp flavor but not a fan but the seasoned fries were ok. Chances are we probably be passing on this place, pretty disappointed.

The trippel sandwich was delicious. But that’s where the list of pros ends. Good beer list, but the waitress literally knew NOTHING about beer! We asked her what exactly a barleywine was, she looked at the list, and said«oh that section tells where the beer was made»… We then had to explain to her where the list of breweries was, and how that was different than the type. She also didn’t know much about the menu Tortilla soup apparently means potatoes, carrots, and pork in broth with saltines… Not what I would call tortilla… Train your staff better. Overall disappointing since I’ve had the food truck stuff before at a festival and remember really liking it

Excellent craft beer and solid good. Come on certain days they have trivia and always random tastings from breweries. Favorite spot to grab a drink in Chandler.

Pros: service is always stellar, great draft lists, Tuesday & Saturday Trivia nights, good atmosphere Cons: the food Not sure how this place gets good food reviews but everything I have had there has been pretty«meh». Not somewhere I would ever plan on eating dinner at. Great for good drinks(craft beer especially) with friends.

Stopped by here to get a quick bite. It was better than expected. As vegetarians, it’s sort of hard to out in places like this, but this place accommodated us well. The fried buffalo cauliflower was so yummy, as was the soup and veggie gyro. Some of the people we were with had wings, and they said they were pretty good as well. The place loses a star for two reasons: one the air conditioner was on waaaay too low. The place was absolutely freezing. This may be good for those drinking and watching the game, but not so great for those just trying to enjoy a meal. Also, the food was a little slow coming out too. Overall it was good, and may go back if I was ever in that area again.

Pretty solid joint, with a good variety of seating at bar area or in a dining type area, usually not too packed. food has been consistent with good stuuf for kids. beer, has 4 peaks on draft which is a bonus. plenty of tvs for sports, usually every game is on for Sunday’s… my goto is wings, n sweet potatoe fries. kids, either cheese crisp or the nachos. decent prices overall.

I was here for the first time last night and had a great time. It was their 5th anniversary and they had a lot of rare beers on tap. I loved the Lumberyard Imperial Hi Water IPA aged in George Dickel barrels. The parmesan garlic wings were very tasty as well!

This a great place for lunch or dinner! A group of us from the office came here last Thursday and all the rumors were true. This has to be one of the great bargains for lunch in central Chandler. All of us ordered the Chicken strips, mine was the four alarm smokey Thai Peanut sauce. Wonderful. Delicious. Outstanding. Look at the pictures. Our bill came to less that $ 7.50 each, with drinks but before tip. I highly recommend the cellery sticks and Blue Cheese/Ranch dressing for $ 0.50 extra. Now, if you are into craft or micro beers, then you’ll find heaven at the Hungry Monk. I spotted one of my favorite München beers Spatenbräu. I’ll have to come back after work and see if they have Hacker-Pschorr, their Heffe is one of my favorite. Enjoy
