Attended the 2015 Neon Run on 5/16…Hugely disappointing and a significant waste of money! Not sure why the other reviewer posted here, but there is already another page for the«Neon Run» in AZ here on Unilocal that has most of the«real» reviews… all of which are negative! First off, the event is absolutely nothing like what is shown in the promotional pictures. People wear bright colors, go out of their way to paint their faces and splash each other with flourescent powder, but there are no… none, zip, zero… black lights on the course to make anything glow and most of the running is through dim orange, parking lot style lighting, which isn’t bright enough to make it easy to see nor dark enough to enjoy the flashing lights and glowing bands everyone wears. The route lacks serious interest and consists of many of zig-zags back and forth through the same areas to save on space. Also, because it is an all ages event, nearly half of the bodies at the event were children. Only a single vendor was present serving nachos, pretzels and overpriced cans of beer(and all of the pretzels caught fire while I was standing there!). Runners were grouped into 2 large waves, so the entire event is over in less than an hour. $ 10 parking, $ 5 entry for«spectators» to sit and wait for runners to finish, but can’t view the race. There is no real«concert» or after party, just the same«DJ» on the stage as when you first arrive, playing prerecorded top 40 hits all night. Unbelievably dishonest marketing and major price gouging. Don’t be fooled… THENEONRUNIS A JOKE, A WASTEOFMONEYAND A SCAM!

I attended the race may 162015 and it was a fun experience! This event was well organized. I got there an hour before it started at parked right in front. There wasn’t any traffic trying to exit the place either. They had so much colorful powder everywhere they also had black lights. There were photo booths you can take pictures at. The course to run on wasn’t that bad, as you run by they throw colored powder at you! At finish line they hand out cold water bottles. There was a lot of people who stayed at the after party. The dj was amazing! Everyone danced and jumped around in more powder. I don’t know why this has so many bad reviews I had a really good time! It’s messy but worth it!
