It’s cheap and friendly. The salsa bar is nice, and they have some«upscale» options like shrimp, fish, and carne asada; but overall, this little taco joint is not the best in the area. The rice, the beans, the tortillas, etc. are simply nothing special. You get a good amount of food for the money, and it’s freshly prepared. It’s just completely unremarkable.

I stopped by while in the area after seeing some good reviews. The restaurant is cute, and less fast-food-like than I expected. I guess the salsa bar had me thinking of Baja Fresh, but it’s a little more dine-in friendly even though you do still order at the front. You don’t have to bus you own dishes(unless I missed something). It’s well decorated and there are several flat screen TVs around. So, like I already mentioned, the free salsa bar was great and so were the chips to go with it. It’s nice to have something to snack one while waiting for you food. However I managed to make a mess out of the little salsa cups, they were kind of small. Before I arrived, I’d already decided on getting the California burrito after seeing pictures. It have everything I wanted(guac, sour cream, beans, cheese…) plus potatoes. They got me at potatoes. It was so good! It was smaller than I thought it would be, but still really good and pretty filling. I was set on a burrito before I arrived, but they do have a lot of other more elaborate dishes to choose from. Judging by what some other people seated nearby ordered, they look pretty awesome. Sadly I live too far to come back any time soon or else I definitely would.

Great food. Salsa and pico, omg the pico… delicious! The serving size is huge and definitely worthy of a take home box. The staff was pleasant and courteous. I’d definitely go again. So full! Sorry for the absence of a photo. I had the app open, but when food arrived I dug in!

The bar was set relatively high after reading a slew of positive reviews. While the food was good, it didn’t quite meet my expectations. I ordered a steak fajita which came with plenty of sides and a variety of rice, but I wasn’t impressed with the steak itself. Extremely well-done and not filled with too much flavor. It was decent but nothing I would return for specifically. The fried ice cream was a nice treat at the end. The shell around the vanilla ice cream tastes similar to cinnabons toast crunch cereal.

Mediocre Mexican food. There’s nothing special about this place. It is slightly better than most other restaurants in Virginia because no one here knows how to make Mexican food

Not a place for a date. Extremely casual seating like a fast food place but excellent food. We get take out also that is equally as good but a little slow.

It isn’t the best American version of Mexican food, but it’s fairly solid. Well-priced and super fast delivery. Menu has a fairly extensive list of options and ordering online for delivery and takeout is super easy.

Inside — Super clean, plenty of room, has that«Clean» feeling to it. Thought it was a chain, but come to find out, its not. overall nice for a casual date night or just everyday eating. Staff — Super nice staff, very helpful and willing with the minor changes I asked for on the menu. Food — I am a Californian. saying that, I just moved here after 30 years living there. Having a California Burrito on the menu is why I chose the place. Substituted home fries for French Fries(How its served in CA), added Cheese and Refried beans(Also how its really served in CA)…and it was Awesome!!! great size, great taste, Carne Asada was good meat. Great burrito. It will be the only burrito I order the rest of the time, from any place while I live here. Wife is a vegetarian, ordered the Spinach Enchiladas and a Margarita. She loved both! Salsa — a few to chose, all really good. I am a heat fanatic, wish there was a super hot one but that’s just nitpicking. All had good flavor. Overall, Great place, great taste, friendly people… P. S. owner, I am only one person, but updating the CA Burrito on the menu to make it a proper one would be awesome, but thank you for a good restaurant. Update: Have had the California burrito 3 times now and always awesome. I ordered the Carne Asada Fries, added refried beans and pico(the proper California way) at NO extra charge and it was AWESOME!!! place is awesome!

I used to work nearby and would get take out from El Fresco. Honestly have never had a bad meal here, and it is very reasonably priced. I missed it so much, I drove about 45 minutes for their $ 1.50 taco special. YUM, Had the barbacoa and fish tacos, and an order of guacamole. They run drink specials from 2 – 7 on Friday as well, so I enjoyed a margarita. The margarita was a bit sweet, but not bad. If margaritas aren’t your speed, they also have beer specials. Good to see you again El Fresco! Hope to be back soon!

This place is incredibly cheap. Food is taco bell level quality. Staff is friendly, but very slow. If I had a chance to come here or baja fresh, I’d go to Baja Fresh in a heartbeat. The food is okay here at El Fresco, but Baja is just much better. El Fresco is just super cheap.

Came here for Cinco de Mayo. It’s close to home, yet I just tried it out after G suggested we give it a whirl. So glad we did! They have a large menu and pictures of some of their food on the wall. Employees are friendly and hard working. You order your food and pay up front. Once you get your number card, an employee brings your food to the table. There is no server here. There is a salsa bar with loads of delicious homemade salsa, diced red onions, lemons, limes, diced Jalapeños, etc. Complimentary chips are offered. If they don’t give it to you after you’ve ordered your food, just ask them for some. You can get free refills on the chips as well, just take your empty bowl up to an employee and they will gladly give you more. We ordered Steak Quesadillas and enjoyed our food. Ended our meal with the Mexican Fried Ice Cream, which was delicious. This was my first time trying a Fried Ice Cream and I really enjoyed it. Vanilla ice cream coated with cinnamon sugar cereal crisps and placed inside a fried tortilla bowl. Topped with chocolate sauce, whipped cream, and a cherry. Yes, yes, and yes!

I’m slightly ashamed to say I like Taco Bell. I like their prices, hot sauce, and gooey abundance of cheese. But I’m still embarrassed to admit I go to an Americanized Mexican fast food chain from time to time. As for El Fresco, I want to shout it from the rooftops, «I love you, El Fresco!» And I want everyone else to love this place too. Their prices are very reasonable, the food is high quality, and the flavors are bold and traditional. I stick to their vegetarian dishes, but I’ve heard their meat dishes are phenomenal too. Also, their salsa, oh my god, it’s delicious! I like the spicy green one best. So if you get burrito cravings like I do, forget about going to Taco Bell, go to El Fresco!
