India Bazaar

Hands down an amazing place. I walked by it looking for some dinner. I went in and the woman making some sort of delicious vegetarian option just made my night. I’m not too sure what it was, but it was perfect!

Finally a good, organized and professional Indian grocery store in the Area. I found this out just a couple of months ago (not sure how this happened). I highly recommend this to everyone.
I hated going business to Patel Bros on Lee Highway, didn’t know there was an option. Now this is the store we go besides Lotte.
Customer service is great! People are extremely helpful.

This is the best indian grocery store we have ever visited. The place is extremely clean, has good choices, friendly staff, and good location. Definitely recommend this place and it’s a great contrast from the usual crowded indian grocery stores. Will definitely visit again!!!

A trip to Northern Virginia is not complete with out stopping here and getting Pani Puri. One day while staying over night in Northern Virginia we stopped next door to pick up some pizza and head to our hotel We had to wait for our order so we decided to walk around the India bazaar. The first thing we noticed was this very sweet lady serving a long line of customers a dish we had never seen before. A customer said it was an Indian street food called pani puri. Well curiosity got to us so we ordered a serving. Wow the layers upon layers upon layers of flavor are amazing! The first layer are crisp shell called puri filled with seasoned potatoes then the pani or water but this no ordinary water this is an amazing concoction of mint, peppers and other seasonings. Then comes the onions and cilantro, yogurt, a tamarind sauce, pepper sauce and topped with crispy little delight whose name escapes me. back at the hotel (5 minutes away you either want to eat right there or real soon but she will pack everything separately to put together later yourself) the taste was beyond anything you could describe everything was in balance, in perfect harmony. The heat of the pepper was balanced by the yogurt the sourness of the tamarind was balanced by the water crispy toppings/​soft potatoes and so forth. Needless to say every times we are in the area or even close we stop here for our pani puri fix, heck we plan our trips around it.

Yummy Bhel Puri and other Chats (Indian snacks) made by the one and only «Aunty». She’s been doing this in other grocery stores for over a decade and now here. Must try! Stop by on weekends… this is a review for just the snack portion. The grocery store seems clean and fully stocked with everything you would look for in a typical Indian grocery store.
