Love love love this place! It’s a great«hole-in-the-wall» place. Great ambiance and food! Try the burritos and nachos. Vegetarian friendly. can’t wait to go again and I love that they’re open late.

I’ve eaten here for years and they have the best burritos in town. A good rival with carrburritos for sure, but much better pricee. I love the old skool vegetarian and the deluxe steak burritos for sure the best. The steak & salsa quesadilla isn’t bad either. Sometjne s the place can be a little dirty but that’s to be expected considering its overrun with UNC students.

This hole in the wall is the best taco/burrito place around. Although I hate it’s only in Durham(I live in Raleigh and it’s a little bit of a drive). It’s worth it. The meat is seasoned perfectly, chips are always Crunchy and the cheese dip is AWESOME. I’ve never met a Mexican restaurant that I didn’t like. And cosmic cantina is open late(4am). Won’t be disappointed

These burritos are below average. Just rice and black beans wrapped in a tortilla. The chicken burrito did not have any chicken in it! None, nada. I have had better at chain restaurants. It was inexpensive, barely got what I paid for. Maybe I am being a little hard on them being from South Texas where our food has flavor. But I was not impressed. To add insult, the service was uninspired, bordering on rude.

Cosmic’s is a small, order-at-the-counter restaurant with a super casual environment and a location that’s conveniently two minutes away from UNC’s campus. The food is tasty and relatively cheap(although sour cream and other additions cost extra), the service is friendly enough, and it’s open every day until 4:00AM too, making it ideal for late night«snacks.» I came here nearly every other day while taking summer classes last year, at which time they also finally installed an air conditioning system so that it’s not a sauna inside when it’s hot and a freezer during the winter. Lately, I’ve been less enthusiastic about going because the portions seem to be getting smaller while the prices remain the same, but Cosmic’s still stands as one of my favorite go-to burrito places.

I can safely say that this place is one of my staple restaurants in the five years I’ve lived in Chapel Hill. The mini veggie deluxe burrito is my standby and it’s basically the perfect portion. But if you’re feeling particularly hungry go for the normal sized ones. Their pico/salsa is addictive, queso is pretty good too. Tortilla chips are great, though it’s sort of confusing how much the amounts differ between what you get with a burrito(0 – 5 depending on the time of day) and the side of chips(a large bowl you can easily split). Whatever, I love this place and will probably always love this place. Crazy cheap too.

Cosmic has seen me at my best times and my worst times. The food is pretty cheap, especially for the quantity that you get. The best thing about Cosmic is that it’s always there for your late nights at the library and your late nights at The Library. Their chicken quesadillas are the reason I have survived up until this point in my life. You get a lot of chicken per quesadilla too, so is good if you’re going for gains. I also can’t stress enough the importance of their chips and salsa. A great pairing to any meal or even on their own, the chips and salsa are a staple of Chapel Hill living. This place also turns into a circus for spectators on the weekends. I once saw a drunk guy order, try to fight the door, stumble out, and pass out in the hallway outside. If you’re reading this review dude, I hope you’re doing well. And please get Cosmic in your system sooner next time.

This is my go-to place whenever I’m craving burritos — sober of not! I have yet to be disappointed with anything I’ve ordered here. The food is priced pretty cheap and is very filling! I also love that they put a lot of cheese in their burritos! During late nights and weekends, this place gets really packed and full of drunk people, which is pretty much a given on a college campus. I do wish they had more seating, but the cozy setup adds to its flair.

My mini chicken deluxe burrito was everything and surprisingly really filling. All kinds of mouth watering deliciousness. Cosmic Cantina is a laid back place to grab lunch or sit down and enjoy a meal with friends. Definitely a college student’s pick-me-up, but their customers come from a wide range of backgrounds.

I ordered a cheese quesadilla and a chicken quesadilla. If you view the photo, you can see that what I was served in no way resembles a cheese quesadilla. If your idea of a quesadilla is a soggy tortilla filled with salsa and no cheese, this is your restaurant.

I love this place for its atmosphere. You know it’s been a successful night out when you end up at Cosmic. I have so many great memories here which is why I’m giving it 4 stars. The food is hit or miss. The food on its own would only carry 3 stars. During the summer months, the food is usually not as fresh or as good as it is during the main school year. The steak burritos are good. The steak salad is out of this world. I’m usually not a salad person, but the steak salad is amazing — little juicy chunks of steak mixed with black beans, shredded mozzarella cheese, pico de gallo, and a really really really good dressing.

I LOVE cosmic! Best food/bargain in Chapel Hill! I get their cheese and salsa quesadilla every time. It’s delicious, filling, fresh, and packed with flavor. And It’s only about two dollars. TWODOLLARS! That’s wayyyy cheaper than Taco Bell! And unlike the Taco Bell version, it’s not made with cow feces. Great prices, open late, awesome quality, and delicious food! The restaurant has a reputation for being a hotspot when you’re drunk, and out late, but the food quality and service is worth it any time of the day.

I’ve never had a bad burrito here. The taste is right, and no drippy sauces added to mask mistakes in other flavorings – they do chicken and bean burritos well; I can’t speak to their pork or beef options. A few areas of improvement that if met would make CC more competitive with other local offerings include: – a shift in ratio of beans/chicken to rice-based filler. Less rice, more bean. – burrito’s are a bit tacky, gummy, in that they don’t heat the tortilla wrap prior to filling it, so your burrito might stick to your teeth. Tasty, but unflattering. – no horchata, just American soda and bottled juice. Their hours are great, and the price is right for a consistently decent filler food. Certainly an a-ok choice more often than not.

I know 3 stars might seem a little low for a beloved place like Cosmic, but the food is decent cheap college fare and nothing more. The burritos are good, but they charge an awful lot for extras like guacamole. Once I ordered the quesadilla and the cheese wasn’t even melted and was still cold. I was really disappointed. Also the chicken tastes off. Maybe it’s just me, but I think there’s a reason most people get the veggie burrito. Their salsa is kick-ass though. I can’t get enough of it.

I don’t have a lot to say about this place. The ambiance is non-existant, the place is a little ill-lit hole in the wall. The kid working the counter laughed to my face when I asked if there was any lettuce in the burrito. I understand that most burrito’s don’t have lettuce, but I’ve seen it before, and I don’t want lettuce on my food, so I asked for a reason. Kind of insulting… The food was cheap and very filling. The food however tasted really generic. I couldn’t barely taste any thing but the tortilla that the burrito was wrapped in. Also they offered a very paltry amount of salsa and chips Also, you have to ask for a key to the restroom, a feature that I associate with nasty gas stations, not a restaurant. I didn’t like it, I’d rather go to Carrburrito’s in the future.

This is a staple of Franklin Street and late night food. I appreciate how much food you get for the price, and all the vegan options. They also have free wifi now! I remembered to write this review because I was recently there, and I forgot to ask for no cheese. I went to buy a whole new burrito, and they made me a new burrito for free. Very helpful and considerate customer service– greatly appreciated!

Cheap, convenient, and filling. I always get the mini veggie burrito and it comes out to 3 dollars and change. This thing is more than enough and I always leave full and satisfied. The interior space is sort of grimy; it’s definitely a hole-in-the-wall type joint. Tables are dirty, the space is crowded and small. But, if you can get over that, then you’re likely to have a good experience with Cosmic. It stays open really late and I have gone a couple times when the place was packed with drunk people post-bars/clubs. The place gets trashed and it takes forever to get your food. But I still think it’s worth the wait. I’d prefer this late night option over BSkis or Qdoba any day. Also, their salsa verde is so freaking good. That stuff is like crack, if crack was super duper spicy and made you want to cry because it’s so spicy and yet so good. If you love spicy food, you HAVETOGETTHEIRSALSAVERDE.
