This is going to be an odd review, because I did not actually buy anything. A friend I were going in to get a sandwich before the Carolina vs Davidson basketball game. But we really had to use the restroom and the employee was already helping someone. The store was empty, as always. So we went for a wee before getting food. Immediately after entering the restroom the Subway employee who was literally helping someone two seconds prior barrels into the bathroom. He exclaimed«I just wanted to see what the convention was in here!!». That settled it for us, we weren’t giving this guy our money. We walked out the back door. It wasn’t a fire exit and did not have a sign that indicated it was for employees only. Again two seconds later we hear the door we just left out of slam open. The Subway guy chased us out into the alley yelling«HEY! THISISNT A PUBLICPATHWAYITSPRIVATE!» and we told him we were just leaving to which he replied«I DON’T GIVE A S**T WHATYOU’REDOING, I’LLCALLTHECOPS!» and he went back in the store. Our girlfriends were waiting out front for us said the guy nearly shoved them over to run out into the alley to yell at us. The whole situation was very bizarre. And I felt bad for even contemplating buying subway prior to the experience. The food is always bad, but cheap convenience is useful before basketball games. Never again.

Normally nice and friendly. Today a woman wanted to make my sandwich while wearing the same plastic gloves she wore handling trash. Don’t let the gloves fool you. With her, one pair lasts the majority of her shift. It is so lazy to not but on a fresh pair. Grossed me out. I had to decline service and go somewhere else.

Cookie cutter Subway. Almost always empty, despite the prime location on Franklin. That creeps me out and demerits one star. Bathrooms are clean.

Good location but the quality has fallen way off since the former manager left to have a baby. Sloppy sandwich making these days. Indifferent staff.

It’s a subway, they have subs. The same stuff at every one of these chain places. The guys that work there are nice, and although a bit pricier than others I’ve been to for being near UNC(I’m guessing), it’s not their fault. There is a drawback unique to this place however. I occasionally get this guy that looks and looks and smells like he walked out of a Cheech and Chong cinematic venture, and my sandwich has issues when I get it. First, the sandwich ends up smelling like a big ol’ mound of herbs I didn’t ask for on the sandwich. The other is that his motor skills function a bit it seems, the split down the sandwich is haphazard and the footlong split ends up being closer to 80:20 most times than 50:50, or maybe he’s just bad at cutting subs, don’t know, don’t really care. I just want two 6 inch subs when I get a footlong and not Mandingo accompanied by Mr. chode. I’m sure they can hire better with all the jobless students around the area, but they have this fool on staff for some reason instead.

I like this subway. The people are nice. It’s in a nice location. The cookies seem to always be on point. :) It’s beside a TCBY. Doesn’t get better than that folks.

Not my favorite subway. I drive right past this one to go to one that is farther away and much better. This one is designed nicely, but cleanliness and service took a nose-dive for a while there. To be fair, I haven’t eaten there in a while. Hopefully, they’ve improved things since the last time I went.

Mysteriously enough, Subway is cheaper here than it is on campus at Lenoir Dining Hall. I’m not sure how to take that, because I likes my Subway, and I likes it cheap: D They also have the fun contest things. Because of those, I learned of the wonders of flatbread. Flatbread is nom. nom nom nom nom. But, this is your standard Subway. It’s not usually crowded, except at lunch(it’s unremarkability in the face of local businesses all around it helps that). But, when you want their food, it’s a good choice on Franklin Street, particularly among standard sammich places.
