All the good computer stuff is here. They once saved old lappy from the pop up virus and gave him Windows 7, which is better than the alternative option, which would have involved Bubs using Homestar’s leg as a shotgun (On a side note, I no longer use my main man Edgar to protect my computer). They also have nice study spaces, support, and other good things that most libraries have, like books. It’s also convenient to the main part of campus, as it’s pretty much in The Pit.

I used to study at the Undergrad quite a bit during my first two years at UNC. After that, I usually chose Davis because it’s so much more quiet. That’s not to say that the Undergrad isn’t a fantastic library — it’s well-designed, well-organized, and highly functional. There are a lot of students that do way too much socializing here, but the open layout with comfy couches and large tables definitely encourages group studying. There are some individual workstations, but it was usually difficult for me to find an empty one during peak study times. The bottom floor houses a large computer lab, which despite its size usually has a line out the door at lunchtime. The basement also features the Media Resource Center, which has its own thread on Unilocal and is definitely worth a visit.
