Sure I prefer to buy local but I can’t help but be impressed with this place. It has really changed since I was a frequent visitor when TCBY was the only kid in town. They have the usual soft serve but have added scooped frozen yogurt as well. Lots of options and flavors, except for toppings. Pretty basic compared to many places. If you prefer more tart yogurt with high protein they do produce a frozen Greek yogurt that was good even though I’m down with the sweet stuff more. But where this place shines is the service. The group of girls that were there when we visited(probably high school/early college) were really speedy, friendly and happy to help. Another thing that is nice about TCBY is their fundraising. They often partner up with local schools where if you go in and buy yogurt they donate part of your money to the school. Nice to see them involved in the community. And lastly, they have an outdoor patio that is in really nice shape. Seating is easy to find and parking is much quicker than getting to some of the other fro-yo places around here.

All I have to say is YUMMY! I am not even a big ice cream/frozen yogurt person, but I will make an exception for this play. 1) the staff is always friendly from the second you walk in the door 2) you HAVE to try the white chocolate mousse flavor with cookie dough topping! Delicious! Even in winter when it is 30 degrees outside, it is never too cold for a treat from TCBY.

I felt compelled to write a review for a chain(not a norm for me) because TCBY brought back their coveted«original» flavor, which they now call sour. If you were a fan of real frozen yogurt flavor and had abandoned hope for the past decade of finding something that wasn’t sickly sweet, give this(and, especially, Local Yogurt in Durham) a try again. The prices are very high for the market(except on Waffle Cone Wednesday), so a star deduction there … But my pet peeve, the Tipping Situation(see Locopops), is not annoying here as the kids make you cone and add toppings at their discretion(in general), so that’s a bonus.

It is definitely not the best. I used to be a regular customer. Now, I much prefer Orange Leaf, or LocoPops. The employees are inconsistent. 1 time, I order a regular size cone – it looks big. the next time I order a regular, it looks tiny. This is par for the course. I have had the same experience with shakes, shivers, sundaes… I never have any idea how it will turn out because there is just no consistency. Once, I ordered a French Vanilla Frappé. The employee obviously had no idea how to make one, so she leaned into me and whispered«I don’t think you will like it. It tastes funny and I don’t want you to be disappointed so I think you should order something else.»(WHAT?)(Actually, I have had many French Vanilla Frappes.) I certainly had no confidence in her abilities so I agreed — I will pass. I won’t be giving this store my business unless I am in the mood to overlook the inconsistency and poor service.

TCBY Yogurt — that’s like ATM Machine or Jumbo Shrimp. Maybe just ATM Machine. It’s certainly a yogurt store located in THE country but not necessarily the country’s BEST. It’s seriously come a long way since the late 90s. The inside of the store is a lot less sterile, but the atmosphere could be improved. I recommend the White Chocolate Mousse(try a shiver with fresh strawberry and chocolate chips).
