Long wait yet there were many open tables upstairs. Looked like there was just 1 waitress up in that area so maybe they were short staffed? There was a small bug in my iced coffee so ordered a hot coffee to replace it. There was another small bug in there! Eeek. Ordered the crab cake Benedict with a side of biscuit and gravy. The biscuit and gravy was great, the Benedict — meh, unimpressive. The crab cakes tasted fishy and the sauce on it was not good at all. Would not recommend this place. Surprised by the great reviews. The staff was very nice though. However I wonder if comping a coffee might have been in store for us considering the bugs found. :/

We had a group of five. Everyone ordered a little something different. Everything from the biscuits to sausage and French toast were all very good. My only complaint is a couple of us had eggs over easy(wanted to dip English muffin in them). Both came out at least over medium, and one was hard. Had to send it back as there was no yolk. Otherwise, great experience. Our waitress was very friendly and knowledgable.

We walked around looking for early breakfast service in the heart of downtown. The menu lured us in. To avoid a wait, we sat at the bar. Thank goodness we were close to coffee, and our server kept it full! She was crazy busy, but kept it together(we know f&b). She also worked lots of to-go orders. She offered us great suggestions. She totally got us splurging on the biscuit beignets with marmalade. We LOVED the Floridian and Bacquezo omelettes. It was so much food, I took a to-go box and re-enjoyed for lunch. Adorable atmosphere.

Let me first say that I think Another Broken Egg Café is a good chain and I have enjoyed breakfast at several locations. This was a total disappointment. We were seated and the server took our drink order promptly, and then took our food order. It took almost 30 minutes for our order to arrive. I saw the manager comping food to other tables because of the wait, but nothing for us. Food finally came and my wife’s bacon was not there. I quickly pointed it out to our server; another 5 – 10 minutes for it to arrive. Never refilled our water or tea. Then I had to get up and find her to get our check. If the place had been slammed I might understand, but there were several empty tables. Don’t know what the problem was, but will think twice before going back to this location.

First time there. Was pleasantly surprised. Had to wait about 20 min for table but pretty normal wait for Charleston. We spent the time walking through slave market across the street. Food was really good. had eggs Benedict. Service was excellent. Other reviews said it was bad but the restaurant must have made adjustments. Highly recommend, very family oriented.

Where to start. I’ve never written a negative review and I wouldn’t say my experience was over all negative but… where to start. The wait ended up being longer than expected so we sat at the bar next to a couple and another sat down beside us. The bartender was very busy, swamped with server tickets, I’ve been there so I was understanding. It was about 10 minutes to get our waters which I thought was a few minutes too late. Then the show began. Our bartender was constantly at full voice and was even louder when her favorite server was around(as my husband referred to it, they were having a conversation for everyone). Being a bar manager, I do not encourage employees to discuss wages or tips or money in general around customers. We heard several times about the money they are, or aren’t, making. I always find this to be very unprofessional. Once my ear was numb and about an hour after our arrival our food came out. Aside from being able to tell our cinnamon roll French toast had been microwaved back to temp, the food was very good and exactly what we were hoping for. The city grits are pretty good! My husband had an omelet that he really liked, and the Salmon Benny was one of the better ones I have had recently. Food was great, over all experience was not enjoyable. They needed a second bartender, a fill in food runner, and a decibel reader.

We got here at 10 and had a 35 min wait, not bad they give you a pager and you can walk around. I got the biscuits and gravy(something I never eat at home). They were very good and the portion was perfect, not too much and just enough to fill up and not feel bloated and need a nap my daughter got french toast I think bananas foster, She enjoyed it, the coffee was bottomless and good. the Place is colorful and clean, staff friendly, good café breakfast!

Came in around 9:30 with my mom on a Wednesday. I got the Hey Lucy omelette, and she got the sweet potato pancake. The chorizo in the omelette was fantastic, and my mom and I are still talking about the orange-honey syrup on her pancake. Everything on the menu looked great.

This place is on Market Street, so if you are the type that avoids tourists you probably dont want to come there. However this is a nice café surrounded by tourist traps. Inside the décor is pleasant and quirky, the staff is funny and quick to make a joke. Overall a good atmosphere. The food here is quite good, the have biscuit beignets(I can never spell that correctly) which were delicious. I had the City Grits which are grits with Gouda, Chives, Tomato and Bacon… Yum. As my plate I had biscuits and gravy(You see the trend here? ;)) it came with eggs and sausage. It was a good brunch. I would go again.

Told there was a 30 minute wait in a almost empty joint, so we chose to sit at the bar. No biggie! Completely Overpriced for the atmosphere and the food they serve. We could hear the staff complaining every time they came over to ring out a guest or to retrieve drinks, total drag when you are trying to have a nice Sunday brunch. Took around 45 minutes to get French toast and an omelette. I suggest spending the same amount of money at a local joint that serves up amazing food. Deserves a 2 star rating but it’s getting a 3 because the bartender noticed my boyfriend didn’t like his Irish coffee and kindly replaced it with a mimosa, he kept the energy level above miserable the whole time!

Unfortunately I’m having to update my review with a decrease in stars. Our office(8 people) went to lunch yesterday and experienced sub-par service in comparison to the great service we usually receive when visiting Another Broken Egg. The food was great as always, however it took us over 45 minutes to receive our entrees. Several people in our group had to wait even longer as they did not receive their food until most of us were close to finished with our meals. Our server/the manager said that was to be expected during lunch rush however it was not abnormally busy at the time. We found him to be very unapologetic and seemed argumentative when we informed him of issues with our orders missing items and the wait time. He was also not a great server as we had drinks go empty and requests go unfilled. This experience was especially disappointing since Another Broken Egg is regularly our go-to lunch spot when we want to eat lunch as a group and we all typically love it. All in all — I would consider giving Another Broken Egg another chance, perhaps in another month or two to see if any improvements are made since I did still enjoy the food. I suspect this may be a growing pain where they might need to hire more staff, and have a more experienced manager or train the current manager. I will note that we all did have our tabs reimbursed as our admin had a discussion with folks higher up than the manager on the duty. I will update my review when I return.

We made it in just before they closed at 2. The temp outside was 70 but inside it was freezing. They fixed that at the request of several customers. Our orders were taken promptly but the food didn’t arrive for 45 minutes even though they weren’t very busy. My Chez B omelette, otherwise very good, was overcooked and crisp around the edges despite being barely warm by the time I got it. The grits, however, were hot. My wife’s fried eggs had been fried on too hot a surface so were crisp around the edges. I wonder if they have a substitute chef today. Our server, Christian, was cheery and upbeat. We liked her a lot.

Went here for brunch and the waitstaff was very nice. It was pretty cold inside though. The food is pricey for a breakfast/brunch place but it tasted good and they have decent sized portions.

My fiancé and I came to Another Broken Egg while visiting Charleston. We were originally enthused by the positive reviews and decided to check it out. We would not plan a return visit if this location had the last banana pancakes on earth. Our food took roughly 45 minutes to cook, and it wasn’t busy. My fiancé requested an avocado on the side, and was presented with slices that were black enough to think the mixed it with blueberries. We asked the waitress if the avocado was fresh. She confidently replied«uhhh» and took it back. In short — find another spot. There are plenty of nice breakfast locations in Charleston. The Broken Egg is not one of them.

I’ve never eaten at the same restaurant twice in nearly as many days. At least that was the case before I had my first breakfast at Another Broken Egg. What a meal – or meals. Now normally I’m the kind of guy who just has breakfast at the hotel, but why not try something a little different from time to time? So we walked down the street from our hotel and came across this place. Kind of a little hole in the wall(didn’t know at the time it was a franchise) with cute décor and a pretty sizable line out front for a breakfast joint. Nevertheless, we were seated quickly on the upper floor the first time and the ground floor the second time. The wait staff in both seats was cordial, helpful, and friendly – and friendliness is a must when you’re eating breakfast. The food was just as wonderful as the staff. Between two days and two people, we ordered the Hey Lucy omelette, the Eggs Blackstone eggs benedict, the(wonderful) biscuit beignets, the Southwest Scramble, and the holy-cow-this-is-unbelieveable-and-heart-attack-inducing Cinnamon Roll French Toast. Some crazy person thought that dish up – but boy am I glad they did. It will blow your mind. All of the dishes were superb, coffee was just fine(but I’m certainly no coffee snob), and the coffee cups are practically spill-proof.

We stopped here for breakfast with a large group on a Sunday morning. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and courteous. The menu was unique and had something for everyone. We had the Popeye’s breakfast and the granola with quinoa, fruit and yogurt. I didn’t try his meal, or grab a photo– darn! But there were no leftovers when he was done. I took half of mine home because the serving size was so huge!

My least favorite place in Charleston so far. It took 1.5 hours to have breakfast. Our order was taken fairly quickly but we waited for two omelets over 40 minutes. It was also hard to flag down the wait staff because they seemed to work the tables and a bar at the same time. We had to go somewhere after and were an hour late because we didn’t expect breakfast to last that long. The food itself was meh. The look and feel of a diner that was represented in the décor spilled into the food. I may be spoiled, but the over sized flavorless portions are not my thing. This place is highly recommended for tourists but I didn’t find it to be anything special and would suggest to put in the time to find something else. On the bright side — they had rice flour pancakes that are not great but are gluten free.

If you need a brunch place to eat at in Charleston, definitely choose Another Broken Egg Café! This place is amazing! AMBIANCE/SERVICE: The service was fantastic. The servers are attentive and friendly. The ambiance is great, warm and cozy. The coffee mugs are adorable. FOOD: The food is incredible. The breakfast burrito with chorizo, eggs, and cheese inside an herbed tortilla was soooo good! It’s huge and satisfying and served with perfectly spiced guacamole. The gluten free pancakes were awesome, probably some of the best GF pancakes we’ve ever tried. The«city grits» were cooked with garlic, chives, bacon, and tomatoes. A definite must try if you love garlic. COFFEE: The only downside of Another Broken Egg Café is that the coffee was not too good. It was a little watered down and kind of tepid. Overall, I would choose this place as a go-to brunch place in Charleston. If given the choice between here and Toast, we’d choose Another Broken Egg Café.

Very cute place in downtown Charleston. Actually it was very close to my hotel. I just walked in and sat at the bar. The wait person at the bar was friendly. I had Southern breakfast with crab and all. She gave me a few bottles of hot sauce. They were good. Grits and all, food in SC is really good. Really. Friendly people everywhere is also good.

This place is great! Great food, huge portions, great service! I have heard of Another Broken Egg before, but didn’t realize it was good. I like that they have a full bar for those who are wanting to start their day off right. The food is really good. The hash browns are the real deal, old school style. The bacon is very greasy and could’ve been cooked a little more, but that’s just my personal opinion. The staff is very patient here, they get BUSY. But they give you a buzzer that works up the entire street, even into the market, so you can bide your wait time. The only real concern is that there are so many people in there on a given Saturday, that is really is hard to get around. It is almost like being wall to wall in a club. I will definitely be back for the breakfast and mimosas.
