Seriously great sandwiches! This is the perfect place to stop for lunch(either dining in or to go). The King Street location is a little on the small side, but there are about 6 tables for those who want to stop in and have a seat while they eat. There are a couple of TVs with sports or the news on frequently, so a nice place to take a rest. I typically order to go to bring back to the office. The staff is always friendly, but it’s a bit slow during lunch time to get your order(especially for just a sandwich shop). Make your meal a combo with a drink, cookie or chips. Optional pickle comes with your sandwich order. Menu highlights: — Hook and Ladder — Italian — Beef and Cheddar Brisket Also check out the«lite» menu with low-calorie options!

I will never eat at a firehouse sub again. As I was taking a bite of my veggie sandwich I bit into a piece of hair(looked like pubic hair). The worst experience of my life. Need I say more?

This is a typical Firehouse. Quick service, friendly employees, and great sandwiches. We had our order to-go on Wednesday and when we got home, we realized my sub was great, but my husband’s large, was really a medium. He was quite disappointed, because we had paid for a large, and he was pretty hungry. I called Firehouse to let them know. The manager, Titus, was great and offered to reimburse us or provide a free meal. We felt like he handled the mixup like a pro! We will definitely be back!

It’s a really great alternative to the Subway a few stores down. The food is much tastier, however it isn’t as customization-friendly here as it is at Subway. But I guess that’s a good thing since you know it was made the way it was meant to be eaten.

I was in town and I tried this place since it was downtown. I liked it so much I returned to it two days later. It seems to be popular with the college kids. The sandwiches were good but I really like the large selection of hot sauces and bbq sauces. I also loved the computer drink fountain with it’s selection of 120+ types of Coca-cola. That was so cool. I recommend this place for a nice relatively inexpensive(although not quiet) lunch in the downtown area of Charleston.
