Best service that I’ve received since visiting Charleston. Pizza was amazing too! Had the double pepperoni/cheese. Fried pickles/mac n cheese bites were mouthwatering as well.

Their hours are great, especially for midnight cravings or student all-nighters. Their cheese was so fresh and tasted amazing; it was probably the best cheese I’ve ever had. The person who delivered was super friendly and polite(shoutout to the red headed delivery gal). Pizza was amazing and it was definitely worth the money. Only thing I would say is if you like a lot of marinara sauce(for calzones and such), make sure to get extra because their containers are kind of small. Overall 10 out of 10 recommend!

Sitting here an hour after I ordered. Which means the pizza I ordered will have been sitting around 15 – 20 minutes before it is delivered. Which means my pizza will be 45 minutes old, at least, when it does show up. Now, 1hr, 25 min later… Food is cold. Would be decent if delivered in a timely fashion. Kinda want my money back at this point… Also robbed of my request for double cheese. This is a pretty standard scam for delivery pizza in general, but a pretty easy way to identify the arseholes in any area. Also, 1oz sauce for a calzone? BS.

My husband and I were in town for the Lipton Be More Tea Festival and stayed at the Hyatt Place hotel on King Street. We ordered two calzones for delivery at around 10:30pm on a Saturday. The delivery guy made it to our hotel room about an hour later. The calzones were hot and the soda was cold, so I can’t complain on that front, but I will say that the calzones were hard to eat with the provided plastic fork and knife. The dough was hard and the toppings made the inside of the calzones wet and soggy. My husband ordered the deluxe, which came with pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, and onions. The pepperoni was gross and greasy. I ordered a custom calzone: ham, black olives, onion, green pepper, and tomato. They didn’t put any black olives or tomatoes in it, so that was disappointing. Overall, I got full, but I would definitely not give the $ 9 per calzone that we paid.

Still my favorite place in Charleston to get a pizza at pretty much any time of the day! Plus now they have Jones soda!

We got in around 1am from a flight, we were staying at the Francis Marion and were unsure of what to order… We looked and looked and stumbled upon Gilroys. We placed our order around 150am and it was here by 3am. It was Labor Day weekend so every bachelor and bachelorette party I am sure we’re doing the same. Great service, great pizza and fried zucchini and awesome hours! Definitely recommend! :)

Pizza was amazing, and the service was even better! Walked in after 2am, ordered two pizzas, and they were handed to me instantly! Fast service, good food, night made.

Great pizza, fast delivery. We ordered a few pizzas late, around 2:30AM and they were here in about 30 minutes. Sauce, cheese, dough — all great.

I would say that Gilroy’s is perfect for late night drunk eats and not much else. The breadsticks were not breadsticks — but rather a pizza with cheese on it and marinara on the side. The sausage pizza was good, but nothing worth writing home about. It was so salty I’m still drinking gallons of water to quench my thirst three days later. I definitely would never eat here sober and I think the prices were probably even too high for late night pizza, but in a pinch, it was fine. The order at a counter, grab, and go concept was great — we headed back to our hotel to enjoy our overpriced pizza we bought way too much of.

Brought back various pizzas to our hotel room 2 – 3 nights of our bachelor party weekend. It was a massive success. Recommend for those types of nights.

Overpriced 2am pizza! Lots of distracting license plates to read while youre waiting for your pizza. No bathrooms. Better pizza places out there!

Definitely eat Gilroy’s pizza a few times a month. My boyfriend and I love it. We work late, so the hours are ideal for us. The staff is always friendly and we always get our food in a timely manner. The pizza is awesome. Never have any complaints other than they could maybe fix the place up a little, but for a usual college hangout place I guess the atmosphere is exactly what you would get from a college hangout.

We all know that Gilroys fills a very specific need and that is late night food cravings with a side of post bar debauchary. This college hot spot hang out isn’t my favorite pizza, but it definitely does its job. Looking to grab a beer after hours with your pizza? Gilroys is BYOB so stop at the store and pick up a sixer on your way.

This place is only good if you are one of 2 people: 1– Drunk college kid heading home 2– Desperate for late night food This gets three stars only because I was starving and craving late night pizza(It stays open until 4AM). I went in, fought off a crowd of drunk people, and got a large pepperoni pizza. I took it home and inhaled it. Not even close to being considered good, it satisfied a late night pizza craving with reasonably quick service

Plain and simple, this is a late night/college food spot. Since I’m not in college, I found myself here late night while looking for something to eat during a visit to Charleston. It’s exactly what it sounds like, a place that makes all the basics from a greasy food standpoint. I grabbed myself an order of buffalo wings, which I must say, were actually pretty good. You can get all kinds of things here though, including pizza. It’s a small place that seems to be mainly used for take out. However there are some places to sit if you wanna tear into your food right there on the spot. Overall however, it’s your average college food spot that is open late night. This is critical because there don’t seem to be many late night options in Charleston. Definitely a good go to. Get the wings!

Stumbled on this place while strolling about with my husband looking for lunch and seriously craving pizza. This place is small… I think it only had about or 5 booths but the service was pretty fast. When my husband I were done hemming an hawing over what to order, our food came out fairly quickly and was exactly what we ordered. Also, they have a normal soda machine. I HATE those new big red coke dispensers that give you a billion options for your soda and always seems to dispense something vaguely tasting like what you chose but always tasting HORRIBLE. Anyway, we sat down with our beverages and waited for the Gilroy Fries, hot wings, and calzone made with sausage, pepperoni, chicken, feta, and spinach. The calzone was solid, the wings are decent but those fries… OH those fries! I don’t particularly care for potatoes unless they’re cut into sticks of some shape and deep fried and these french fries were seriously wonderful. I ate so much of the giant serving I couldn’t finish my half of the calzone or my share of the wings! But French Fries, bacon, cheese and ranch dressing combined is a pretty to die for combination. Overall I’d give 1 ½ stars for the food, 1 ½ stars for the initial service and a 4th star for being awesome! My absent minded husband left his cell phone on the table after we’d finished eating and we were probably a block and a half away from the restaurant when the very nice man behind the counter came running at us with his phone in hand! That’s amazing! And I’m super thankful(and forgetful because I certainly can’t remember his name to save my life). 4 stars! Would definitely eat here again!

Okay, so it was like 11PM and according to my friend I was pretty out of it. After attending an all day conference and crashing afterwards, I wanted food. Nothing was really open and I couldn’t find Pita Pit. So why not pizza, or instead I got a calzone. And this place was really good, fast, friendly and cheap! The calzone was out in less than 15 minutes. Very good, filled with lots of meat and cheese. Overall pretty decent, would diffidently go back.

Came here for some late night pizza, the pizza was edible but nothing I would purposely come here for. We really wanted Mellow Mushroom but their kitchen was closed. There is no bathroom here, but you can go to the bar upstairs if you need a restroom.

I’ve eaten at Gilroy’s twice, so I can say with certainty that the bad pizza I had was not a one time thing. Overpriced and burnt, and the cheese tasted like plastic. They DO offer specials, however. One of the times I was there late(around midnight or so) and an entire party of drunk college kids stumbled in and started a huge fiasco amongst themselves. Not the restaurant’s fault, but the staff also did nothing to corral them; we had to leave because I began feeling unsafe. Staff just stood around, a few of them texting and none of them caring at all. Gilroy’s definitely caters to a type: dive-bar-loving-drunk-college-kids. If that’s you, cool, I guess. The restaurant knows its clientele and I can’t fault them for that. They obviously have a very loyal fanbase, but I’m definitely not a part of it. If you want real good pizza real late, go the few extra blocks to the Market and get Pizzeria di Giovanni. You don’t have to be drunk to enjoy it.

Food: Pretty good Staff: Very straight forward, sometimes rude but mainly friendly. Atmosphere: Hippie, hole in the wall, unique, small Ups: BYOB Open late Downs: Food takes a while Not for big parties Conclusion: It’s where to go when you want to save money on alcohol by buying it across the street & drinking it there. Food is decent enough & atmosphere is very local feeling.
