Service was descent. I went on a Sunday afternoon during Charlestons wine tasting weekend. It was busy, buy the wait wasn’t long. Server was nice and prompt and the food was great. A great place to go for a afternoon lunch downtown.

Pretty tasty — but man was it slow. Looks from the outside like a quick meal, but we waited and waited and waited.

Not friendly service, place smelled like cigarettes. I will not be returning! I’m not surprised why no one recommends this place.

Amendment to previous review: I just got a complimentary lunch from Manny’s and I have to say it was a huge improvement. After writing this review I was prompted by the owner to drop by and talk to the downtown locations GM. I did, and he was extremely nice and apologetic about my bad experience. What I learned from my communication with the owner and the GM was that they did not have power the morning of my first visit(@ 11:30am) and that put them behind in prep, which could explain my poor experience. The owner wasn’t offering excuses; he just wanted me to know what was up. Anyway, my second go around was great. I ordered the Marlon Brando again and it was delicious. Thanks! I just got a takeout lunch from Manny’s today and was pretty underwhelmed. I ordered the Marlon Brando, which I had previously thoroughly enjoyed on a previous visit when I dined in the restaurant. This time though I feel like there was hardly any meat on the gyro and the meat that was there was under seasoned. To add to that, the pita seemed a bit stale; it was very tough and chewy. Service was great and quick. TLDR: I was very happy with the Marlon Brando on my first visit when I ate in the restaurant, but when I ordered the same item for takeout visit, I was very disappointed.

I found Manny’s on Unilocal.I’m a big gyro fan. I’ve been searching(unsuccessfully) since moving to Charleston two years ago to find a good gyro. We’ll I finally found it at Manny’s after a business meeting downtown! The free hummus for checking in on Unilocal was also awesome. On top of the great food, the service was outstanding. I couldn’t have been more satisfied with my visit. Highly recommend.

Thought we would check out Manny’s based on Scotty C’s review and the fact that we saw a $ 10 for $ 20 deal on LivingSocial. We had a late lunch(just after 2pm). The place was empty. We were the only ones in their other than the waitress and manager. I checked in on Unilocal,so we cashed in on the free hummus appetizer. The waitress seemed confused because she told me I had to print something out for it. She had to bring my phone back to her manager to figure it out. It ended up working out, but left me very concerned for them that they were offering a deal and didn’t train everyone on how to manage it. The hummus appetizer came out and it was FABULOUS! Definitely cash in on this deal. I ordered the grilled chicken pita and opted for fries(easily justified by it being hump day in the middle of a crazy/busy work week) and the hubs had a gyro(comes with chips). Both came with a pickle. We used our LivingSocial deal, which the waitress had no problem with. As we were waiting for our meals, I walked up to the counter to get extra napkins. The waitress told me that we were only allowed to use one deal, so since the Unilocal free hummus deal was already documented, we wouldn’t be able to use our LivingSocial deal. We totally understand only honoring one deal at a time, but there was no indication on the Unilocal check-in deal that it couldn’t be used with other offers. The manager came out and told me he was going to be able to honor both, but that people should just«know» that only one offer should be used at a time. We were quite turned off by how he handled the situation, especially listing off all the monetary amounts of the discounts, etc. Very odd, but it did work on our favor, and we were thankful they honored both offers. Hopefully now that this happened, they will be able to inform future patrons prior to backtracking on accepted offers. The atmosphere was very nice and clean. I loved the pebbled ice in the water, but the water had a funky chemical/spray cleaner taste to me. Wasn’t sure if it was the water, or perhaps their dish detergent. The bathroom was very clean and had a funky feel with the dark black tile. I had mixed emotions about the table service. Seems like a place where you would just order at a counter, then have them bring the food out to you(similar to Taziki’s on King). Instead, the waitress waited on us, took our order at the table, brought drinks, etc. I was also turned off by the fact that every table had a sign on it indicating how many people could sit there(see picture I posted). I think I prefer the pita at Eat-a-Pita more. Nothing wrong with Manny’s, it was great, just a personal preference. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his gyro, and would definitely get it again. I am sure we will return in the near future. It is very close to my office, the food was fresh, atmosphere was enjoyable, and the deals were great. I hope being a newer location, they are able to work out some of the kinks with their deals and employee training. They have free WiFi if you are looking to eat and work.

I was walking down King St last Sunday and came across some open tables out in the street which can be a pretty tough find on Second Sunday. I realized that the tables had servers running back and forth to the new Manny’s down by Caviar and Bananas. I had always heard good things about the other locations so I decided to give it a try. The service started out a little slow but, I could tell she was slammed. Being that it was Second Sunday and she was trying her best, I give her a pass. She made up for it throughout the meal and was very personable. I got a free order of Hummus for checking in on Unilocal which was huge! more than enough appetizer for the four of us at the table and plenty of pita to go with. I ordered the Gyro and added Mozzarella. It was delicious and full of meat… no skimping here. I thought I was really happy with my meal until I tried my friends Greek half chicken. I had major food envy! The chicken was so juicy and the Greek spices were just enough. I would highly recommend that dish. I don’t know what it’s like inside because I never actually went in there but the King St dining experience under our umbrella was perfect.

I’ve eaten at Manny’s a few times and the food is always exceptionally good. The one I go to often is this one on George st. The first day I went there I «Checked-In» on FourSquare and received a free humus dish with my purchased entrée. Their humus is so fresh and the pita so soft and delicious! I’ve also had the shrimp pita with greek side salad and the teriyaki sauce on the shrimp is so good I could drink it! The side salad is extremely small and not really worth the extra $ 2.99 it is to change from fries but still really delicious. I’ve also had the greek pizza which is also delicious and amazing for leftovers. Last time I was there the restaurant owner noticed I used my OCMP card to purchase my meal and he came over and told me about their free delivery and how they take OCMP over the phone as well! That really showed their amazing customer service in relating to their customer. He truly seems to notice and care about who enters his restaurant whether a college student or a family.
