Customer service was a disappointment. I’m from Orlando, Florida and am a frequent customer of h&m. Today I was in a very big hurry trying to buy a pair of pants for wok later today. I found a size 4 that I really liked but didn’t fit quite right so I went back to the same place I found the pants and grabbed the 6, these fit perfect but when I went to check out I realized they weren’t actually the same pants and I asked the sales associate, Sam B. If the tags were misplaced or what happened, she told me in a condescending tone they were different pants and then said«we don’t have them up here you have to go get them and bring get back in line» in an extremely rude tone when there was another sales associate standing behind her doing nothing. Maybe management here is different or just have a very lazy staff, but I have always had sales associates at other stores help me find what I was looking for, specially if I grabbed something on accident because it was misplaced. I don’t think treating customers this way is profitable for business and I’m definitely gonna pass on h&m at this location next time.

Poor store. They really have nothing in there. And I blame it on h&m because they treat north and South Carolina like charity. Only big city’s get the good stuff. I feel like it’s not going to last that long, Because you could get all of that stuff from rainbows this store should request better stuff.

The H&M store at Tanger outlets is terrible. I wanted an outfit that was on a mannequin they had no other of my size in stock. When I asked about it I was kept waiting and then told they couldn’t do it because someone was at lunch for another 30 minutes. Really? No one else has the ability to assist? Poor customer service.

I went into the store and bought 5 collared shirts for $ 60 and then went down the street to J. Crew and couldn’t find a single shirt under $ 60. I’m not saying they are the same level of quality, but how is that fiscally possible? I don’t know which store’s ethics are more in question. Either J. Crew is hosing us or H&M is working 8 year olds to death in some 3rd world country to get these low prices. Hopefully, J. Crew is hosing us so I can sleep better at night in my cozy new H&M flannels. In all seriousness, H&M has some good looking stuff at a low price. If you like to buy clothes built-to-last then go elsewhere, but if you are just needing something for a year and then donate, go to H&M.

Thank you H&M for finally being in Charleston. Your arrival was highly anticipated. Please improve the men’s section by updating the selection.

Almost sad to say but(here comes the old age train), I’ve been shopping at H&M for maybe 12 or 13 years now… scary. They had H&M all over where I grew up in MA and although I’ve lived in the south for many moons without them, I’ll always stop in if there’s one nearby. With that being the case, I’ve been to stores all over the country and even a few in Europe. To be honest, I didn’t have high hopes for this location. I was pretty sure that the men’s section, like many other downtown Charleston shops would be small and underwhelming. It seems that every store around continues to make their men’s department smaller and smaller short of just a few spots in the area. To my surprise, the men’s section in this H&M was huge and had way more than I expected. They may need to work on the sizing because they’re were barely any larger sizes in stock. I’m guessing that’s what people are buying because their stuff runs small in the first place, and most guys I know aren’t a size 29 waist wearing size small t-shirts. My first time in was during 2nd Sunday on King so it was pretty busy but nothing too crazy. I had my dog with me too which I always feel kind of weird about going into stores with. None of the staff gave any looks or seemed to have a problem. Then I saw two other people with dogs so I guess it’s not frowned upon at all. I even took her into the dressing room, and they purposely gave me the large room so she would have some extra room. That was a thoughtful gesture and did not go unnoticed. The prices on some things have crept up at H&M over the years but that’s across the board and not particular to this one store. They always have the basic items for cheap and nothing is really«expensive» anyway. If they continue to keep a large and fully stocked men’s section without cannibalizing it for more women’s tanks, I’ll keep coming back.

Oh, the disappointment. I’ve been to a handful of H&M’s over the years, mainly in NYC and Atlanta. This one just doesn’t stack up. Usually when I go to H&M’s, a wheelbarrel would actually come in handy with all the clothes I try to take in the dressing room. Not at this one. The selection was meh; so many neutrals. Black, white, gray and light pink. That’s all I saw. No bright colors. No fun patterns. Nothing remotely interesting. The one redeeming quality, like Julie B. said, is that it’s a good place for basics. T-shirts, camis, tights, etc are all pretty cheap. Overall though, if I’m going down the trendy yet inexpenive road, I like Forever 21 better. It’s basically the same price point but they have a way better selection. Maybe it’s a weird season for them right now and perhaps I’ll change my mind when they get new stuff in. But as of right now, I won’t be jumping at the chance to go back anytime soon. No thanks, Hideous & Mediocre(see what I did right there?). What, too mean? How about Helpless & Mundane? Homogeneous & Monotone? Better? I could do this all day…

A great place to go for basics. You can get t-shirts and leggings for cheap.

Charleston’s H&M recently opened, and I was downtown on Sunday for church and decided to stop in, since I was close by. Of course, I heard all the hype, and I knew the concept of H&M, but had never been into one of their stores. Sunday was my first visit, but it won’t be my last. H&M is a great place to buy simple clothes for pretty good prices. Now, you’re not buying super high-quality or boutique quality clothes, but if you need something to wear to a party or out, or even pretty nice looking professional clothes(they have a line of business casual clothes for ladies), this is a good place. The jewelry and accessories are cute too, and at the price, you can afford them even if you only wear them a few times. Some great opening-week sales were going on, and several employees offered to help me(even though I was just looking around, so I didn’t take them up on the offer). I’ve never been to another H&M to compare ours to, but I think this store will be a great addition to Charleston.
