Good BBQ. The only thing I would suggest is that they provide the option to take the food to go when you get up there. After 2 and a half hours of waiting in line, I’d rather take it home and enjoy it there. Having to wrap up all your food in paper and bag it on a tiny table while other people are trying to do the same and also grab utensils and condiments is a little frustrating. The brisket is delicious though and highly recommended!

Folks, take it from a Texan, John Lewis is the reel deel. The real McCoy. This BBQ is solid and while he is at Revelry each summer Saturday until his restaurant opens, he’s serving up some of the best BBQ in town. The brisket is on point(although I suspect you Charlestonians will be keen for the pork… also a slam dunk)! He always has delicious specials so don’t sell yourself short. The sides are great as well– bacon potato salad and lemon vinaigrette cole slaw. Come hungry because this is the type of food you don’t wanna miss out on. The beer from Revelry is a nice bonus too. Here’s to a successful career for Mr. Lewis.

Texas Bbq in Charleston! Hands down best brisket I’ve had. John Lewis of La Barbecue fame in Austin, opened this place up recently, next to Revelry Brewing. For now, just open on Saturdays. Plans on opening a brick and mortar soon. Takes about an hour to get through the line. The good news, there’s a good brewery there as well.
