Wow. Excellent food served in huge portions at a very reasonable price. We had pancakes(HUGE), omelet(huge), biscuits and gravy(excellent gravy), hash browns(nice and thick), rosemary bread toast(homemade and delicious), and bacon. Now many reviewers have raved about the bacon. Many have already said that this bacon is the best they have ever had. Many reviewers can speak of nothing else but the bacon. Well, let me set the record straight. Every review, every extreme comment, every exclamation point… Well… They are all exactly right! The bacon is just really THAT good. The service is good. It is slow. There was a restaurant full of people with only two waitresses. They were literally running. Do not come here if you are in a big hurry. Come knowing that the food is amazing and that you may have to wait awhile. But really… What’s the hurry anyway? We are talking about having to wait awhile for the best bacon you will ever eat. No problem. Again, All the food(not just the bacon) was excellent and we will most certainly be returning.

I will never experience bacon the same way again. It’s like the one that got away. It was great, the best time of your life but something got in the way. You hear people say it’s for the best but you wonder what the bacon up to; how is the bacon doing then you begin to Unilocal stalk them and the jealousy kicks in and you get angry because you are stuck with cheep burnt out bacon you would take home to your mom. That’s how that bacon is

Poor service, not even a «thank you». Way too much butter on the bread. Expensive.

Good food with reasonable prices. My dish was a little on the salty side but I think that was more of the curing of the pork belly rather then the cooking. Overall it was a great meal and I’ll eat there at least once every time I’m in the area.

Love this place and will definitely come back. Looks like a little hole in the wall, but worth the wait. Staff was fun and hustled to keep up with the constant flow of new customers. The bacon is amazing and would suggest ordering it on the side if your meal doesn’t come with it. Make sure to stop by, breakfast or lunch.

We lost 45 minutes of our lives we’ll never get back waiting for a cinnamon roll and some kind of biscuit/gravy concoction. The only other people in the place were at a table of 8 who had been waiting even longer than us, and some guy who wandered in and quickly received a bowl of gruel or oatmeal or something. We finally left when the food for the large table started trickling out, but still with no sign we’d ever get fed. No idea what it would have tasted like, but the prices are rediculous, the place is filthy, and it was cold and dank. We wasted $ 5 for the weak coffee we had while we cooled our heals. But it was probably money well spent on knowing better next time. BS like this is why we just can’t seem to develop a tourist trade around here.

We stopped in for breakfast on our way to go crabbing. This was undoubtedly the WORST dining experience of our lives. While the wait staff was fine, the owner(according to our waitress) was rude and belligerent when we pointed out that my son’s scrambled eggs were overcooked and my hash browns were soggy(frozen, not homemade). We just wanted the hash browns taken back and made crisp. He apparently thinks he is a world class chef who can do no wrong and has no idea what customer service is about. While bad food is one thing, when it is served in a dirty restaurant(look at the baseboards and under tables) there is NO reason to go back.

Nice little place and yes it’s actually a barn. Friendly service, and our coffee cups were kept filled the entire time. I had the the bacon waffles which were pretty tasty! Their bacon is really good. The hubby had their pork belly, which I stole a bite of, and it was really tasty as well. This is a nice little place to stop if you are driving the coast near the state parks.

This place was awesome. The staff was so friendly and as a traveler they gave me tons of info on the surrounding area and what to check out. Obviously, the best part about this place was the food. This guy makes everything from scratch and takes great pride in his work. It shows, the food was AMAZING. This place alone is worth the visit to Coos Bay.

I don’t know, the last two times I’ve been here the food has been particularly over salted. I loved the biscuits and gravy the first couple of times I visited but recently I could only have a couple of bites before pushing my plate away. The last time I was there, biscuits and gravy were particularly salty and there was another guest(ordered the biscuits and gravy as well) next to me who mentioned it to the server. She was essentially chewed out by the server. He snickered and stated they like their food seasoned at their establishment. No offer to adjust her order, no apology or care. It was pretty rude, kind of disappointing. Not sure what’s going on with this restaurant but they pretty much lost my interest/business. I’m almost positive they switched cooks and their staff needs manners.

Honest grub from authentic folks. We had the good fortune to come in for breakfast one morning, and got full service from Lucas, the new(ish) owner. From his welcome to his cooking to his wife’s homemade bread, we we’re delighted by the whole experience. If you happen to need breakfast in Charleston, you can’t go wrong at Nonnie’s.

Brought our whole family here while we were on vacation. Let’s just say I can’t wait to go back! Customer service was awesome. Cute family-run place with amazing made-from-scratch food. And bacon. The good kind. Not the cheap junk. It was well worth the time it took to get our food. We were in there on a holiday, there were 7 of us and it was crowded. But amazing! Everyone of us loved the food I highly recommend the bacon waffle boats. I could eat them everyday!!!

Bring on the bacon and indeed they do! It’s the most incredible bacon I’ve had in my life. They cure it themselves and it’s a think cut, but in no way chewy or stringy. It melts in your mouth like a crispy greasy dream come true. It’s sweet, but not overpowering. It’s just pure magic. Everything here is made from scratch too, their biscuits look amazing, the husband had one and gave it two thumbs up. They grill it in the flattop to get it crunchy. I had scrambled eggs to go with my side of bacon($ 4 for 3 – 4 slices) and the eggs were seasoned for me, and they were perfect. Not too dry not too wet, and just enough black pepper. They have grass fed burgers on the menu so I’ll have to come back and try one of those, with some cheddar cheese and that incredible bacon on top!

My husband and I found this place while visiting Coos Bay. We both ordered the eggs, hashbrowns, bacon and toast. All of their breads are made in-house, sliced thick and spread with real butter. I recommend the rosemary potato toast! The owner seasons and smokes all of their meats and the bacon is like none other. If you have a sweet tooth, try their cinnamon roll — large enough to share amongst four people, but so tasty that you won’t want to!

The large letters on the roof proclaim«BACON» as you approach and park and bacon IS the star of the show here. It is cured in-house and is terrific! Everything I ordered was perfect: eggs cooked exactly as I requested, crispy hash browns and the most amazing rosemary bread toast(also baked in-house). The restaurant itself is a bit dated but reflective of a blue-collar fishing community. The walls are adorned with original(amateur) paintings and the furnishings are basic. The folks that run the restaurant are hard-working, friendly and obviously want their guests to have a nice experience while dining there. Since Bacon is the star here, it would be cool to see the existing artwork replaced with something centered on bacon(maybe add paper placemats/crayons with a cartoon pig on the back that guests could color-in while waiting for their order. It would be a fun way to «plus» the experience and give the restaurant some fresh art for the walls. If you are in the Coos Bay/Charleston area, you should plan to have a meal here!
