Paloosh Salon

I was looking for a hair salon with a stylist who can make me feel confident that she knew what she was doing, and I definitely got that feeling with the stylists here at this salon! As soon as you walk in you’re treated by the friendly staff, which is a great feeling.
My stylist today was Jordan, and she did an incredible job on my hair! She focused just on my hair and what she was doing, without being distracted and talking with other stylists and she listened to what I wanted to do with my hair and made suggestions about what she thinks would work with what I wanted and answered any questions I had about the process. I still got to keep the length while still trimming and adding layers and movement throughout my hair. You can definitely tell when a stylist knows what she is doing and enjoys every bit of it.
I had such a great experience with Jordan, and I would recommend her to anyone who is on the line about this salon or looking for a stylist that they can trust!

Over the last two years, Paloosh has become like family to me! My husband and I both get our hair done there. From the second you walk in, you immediately feel at home. They greet you, offer you a beverage (water, coffee, wine) and get you all set up. (Even waiting isn’t bad there– the waiting area is comfortable, there are plenty of magazines and you usually strike up a conversation with anyone around. Everyone is just so personable and great. Customers and employees. Checking out is just as easy. Once you change back into your regular shirt (if necessary), you are taken up to the front to settle the bill. They always go over the list of services you are being charged for and give you the total. If you have any questions/​concerns/​comments/​disputes, you have a chance to figure all that out before your card is charged. (I’ve never had a problem before. I like that they itemize it for you when they tell you the total.)
I still see Shelcie and she is still just as fantastic as day one. Each time I go in, even if it is just a trim and thin (I have thick hair!), she consults with me beforehand to discuss everything. How I want it to get cut (I have had some ridiculous thoughts on how my hair should look, but she has been 100% honest on how it will look with my face shape, my hair texture, etc. Love that she is honest.), if I want a gloss with any color, do I want to try anything new, etc. She *always* consults me beforehand, no matter how many times I come in.
Yesterday, I decided I needed change. I wanted to change my (natural) color to something different. We discussed options and what would be best (especially for a first timer like me!), the price point I wanted to stay around (price is *always* discussed during our consults, even if it is just a haircut). I trust her enough to let her have fun– and she did a great job. Went with a raspberry color with lighter reds throughout. It looks fantastic! I am highly pleased with how it came out. Can’t wait to do more fun things throughout the seasons changing. (That’s a thing, right? See, I’m still new to the hair color changing thing.)
Another shout out to Jordan. I called in a couple of weeks ago, last minute, to see if I can get a small styling done for an event I had that evening. They were able to get me in (within the hour!) to meet with Jordan. During my consultation before we did anything, we discussed the type of event, the venue, the dress I was wearing, everything. It helped her with the vision of how my hair should look. I described something I was thinking about/​picturing in my head and she went with it. Came out great! I got a ton of compliments at the event. I was so happy with how it turned out.
I get complimented a lot on how healthy my hair is, the natural color coming out/​shining (thanks, gloss!) and the cut. I will always refer people to Paloosh (in person, on Unilocal,on Reddit, anywhere!) They always make sure you are set up with someone will fit any needs you may have. (Example: I was set up with Shelcie at the beginning because she does great work with thick hair. It’s been the best haircuts I have ever had.) I just love those pretty ladies in that salon and recommend it to anyone looking to have your hair done– from the simplest of a trim to extreme makeover!

BEWARE!!!
I’m filing a small claims lawsuit against Paloosh Salon with the magistrates court tomorrow!
They gave me a price for my hair, then they tripled the price at checkout and I didn’t know it until they handed me my receipt!
Horrible business practices!
They are crooks and I will see them in court!!.
UPDATE: Wow. Holly, your reply is absolutely absurd and full of lies… even down to the supposed comment I made. But no worries, since you refuse to issue my refund, I WILL make sure to continue posting reviews like this as well as file my claim tomorrow. Have a wonderful day. I hope the $ 265 you charged my credit card for a cut and one all-​over color that I asked for was worth it!

I love every visit I have with Chelsea! I have a bright, bold purple bundle of hair and she knows exactly what it needs. She is great with offering suggestions as well as listening to what I am thinking or what I am after. She takes the time to do the job well and right the first time!
The salon is clean, they have wine and over beverages, and it’s super easy to make an appointment. I love love love to Paloosh myself!

I can’t say how much I loved my hair! Words can’t describe! Choose this place to get your hair done. They stand by their work. I loved it!

I see shelcies name all over this place so I will add to it! You could tell she was passionate at what she does, loves it too! Cutting hair is n art form to her and there’s nothing more you can want in your stylist. My hair was a WRECK and she was honest. Told me my broken spots and where my hair needed help. Then she was so excited to help! She went to town making sure I was comfortable with each cut and I trusted her. My hair turned out GREAT! It’s different but still me. They don’t treat you like a number when you walk in, but a friend. I will definitely be returning.

Staff was great-​welcoming. However I didn’t realize it would be $ 350.00 for a cut and highlights. The hairdresser decided to put a glaze on after the highlights. I didn’t want my hair to look fried and unfortunately it did. it also took 5 hours to get my hair done.
I didn’t pay that much for my wedding highlights/​updo. I am looking into a different salon. I will make sure I ask for the price upfront next time. I knew it was expensive with $$$ dollar signs but not $ 350.00 worth.
Even if it wasn’t for the price, my hair has lost its natural shine. it’s really dry and I can’t brush it without adding products (leave in conditioners).

Praise all that is holy that Shelcie and Paloosh are so talented (and close to my house)!!! After a horrific experience at a well known salon in Tanger (I would not recommend a Toni Hammond) Shelcie restores my hair to an even better state than I was born with. I had no idea what I wanted done, but Shelcie had great suggestions from every price range. I did a gloss, highlights, low lights and a cut and was ecstatic by the results. I am going back next month for a keratin treatment. All the girls are so helpful and down to earth… and they do all sorts of spa services like spray tanning and waxing. And they use quality products that aren’t gross with animal tested parabens … leaves your hair silky, sexy, and smelling like a celeb!

After a series of hair stylists at a downtown salon had left me high and dry I tried out Great Clips. I mean my hair cut isn’t all that complicated how hard can it be and $ 13 I thought sign me up and all was well until it wasn’t. I let my hair grow out for 6 months with no cut or trim. I was recommended to go see Shelcie and I am so happy I did. She took my hair and did wonders with it! It hasn’t looked this good in years! She was personable, funny, knew what she was doing and it showed! She listened to me when I told her what I was looking for with my hair which was so nice and a great change. I hope she stays there a long time because I plan on going to her as long as I can! Awesome job!
