We’re local to this establishment and have patronized it twice a month, on average. But, never again. Our experience last night was so bad, we will never return. To sum up, the service is lousy, but at least their rude and don’t care about their patrons. The bartender was flat out rude to my wife. There are so many great places to eat in Charleston, there’s no reason for anyone to eat at this place and take a chance you’ll have the experience we did. Avoid this place. You’d do better at the Sonic across the street.

Pizza today was ok. I had their burger before it was pretty decent. Their fries are okay too. Service is not the best today. I sat outside tonight with my dog in the fenced in area and got my food. But nobody checked on me I wanted a drink and fries refill. I got tired waiting so just went inside to ask for my bill.

Delicious food, friendly service, small patio for meals with my pup. The food came out HOT and fresh. I’m a big fan of the pulled pork quesadilla appetizer as my meal. Very tasty and the sauces are real yummy too. They were so sweet to my pup. Great experience.

The great thing about this place is their friendliness to dogs! It’s so dog friendly it’s like we are in paris(without the fanciness). There is an enclosed area so you can unleash your dog. My 6lb chorkie is small and horrible enough to squeeze those fence openings though(she will do it!!) and she is only friendly with dogs even smaller than her, so we sat outside on the sidewalk. The puffy Pomeranian stared at my dog through the fence opening the whole meal(omg so cute and funny). We were also told we can sit inside by the door if the big dogs freaked mine out too much, but I have been yelled at too many times in life/seen waitresses threatened by those angry/evil/animal hating types to feel comfortable to do so.(Those types of people would probably not be eating at parson Jack’s in the first place– if only they just kept their hateful butts home all together!) my dog was fine once distracted by some food btw. The food and service neither my friends nor I were impressed with, but it was really cheap and still good. I had a vegetarian quesadilla, i liked the chunks of grilled veggies in there but wasn’t a fan of the salsa which was like liquid cumin, so kind of bland and unsettling, plus I never got an extra sour cream I ordered. My dog and I will be back again before finalizing our opinions on that.

…one of the hardest places there is to flag down the help… other than that I love the place… went back to this place and waited well over an hour and when my meal finally got to me it was cold… never more… sorry I’ll find some where else to eat

I was hesitant to try this place due to so many bad reviews but am glad I came. Buffalo chicken fingers were pretty delicious and extremely filling. Seems to be mostly a regulars crowd but that’s ok even if the regulars seem a bit odd. Bartender was nice and fairly attentive. –1 star for the entire staff taking shots including a cook. Don’t mind staff drinking but a cook behind the bar just doesn’t look right. Overall a good experience though and I look forward to trying other things on the menu

Local joint. Church pews as benches where some dip down a little making it a challenge for young kids to sit but they liked the extra space. There are dollar bills stapled to the ceiling and paintings from customers all around the place. A lot The $ 2.99 kids menu is a good value especially with toddlers who eat two bites and throw the rest across the table. I had the chicken salad with generous amounts of pecans and avocado. The salad comes already tossed in dressing which I prefer but others may not. I need to come back and try the Sunday brunch with bottomless mimosas!

Paron’s Jack is your average small-town café. They have a bar, which is really the center of attention, then tables around the café. I usually attend to watch my father-in-law perform on open mic night or with his band. The food is pretty good for what it is. The nachos and pizza are delicious and what I order most of the time. Drinks are always strong and cheap-ish.

Wow this place went downhill in a short amount of time. They lost our favorite waitress, Tera. All other servers we’ve had there since have been OK-to-terrible compared to her. Three visits in a row they didn’t have ‘kid’ food. Mainly there’s a mini-corndog kind of thing my kids loved, but they suddenly weren’t keeping it in stock after almost a year straight of us going there for that every week to every other week. It’s too bad, I thought it was going to be our«thing» to go to Parson Jack’s every week.

Parsons Jack is an adorable, comfortable dive bar and restaurant. Very laid back staff and atmosphere. Pictures and great artwork line the walls. Wish the place was a bit cleaner at times. And wish there was a bigger selection of craft beverages. The location is also very strange and their outdoor area is tiny :(a good place to go when you just want to hang

*Please refer to my previous review for Parson Jack’s Café. This is my response to the beautiful comment the manager/owner left on my review: First of all, I would like to say thank you for picking my review, not only to read but to write such a pleasant response. Not even the 2 Star review which said«Food is from the freezer especially the kid’s meals» or the 1 Star review«Terrible service, worst ever. Told management — didn’t care, owner didn’t care. Food isn’t that good. Don’t support them» or as found in another review website«Worst place I’ve eaten at in Charleston. We went there at least 7 times and it got worse and worse each time. From roaches on the bar to lipstick on beer glasses(we were told ‘that happens sometimes’). The last time we went there, there were only about 5 other people there and it took the better part of an hour to get a quesadilla and a sandwich. My wife has gotten sick twice eating there. Crappy service and crappy food. If you value your time and stomach, go find somewhere else to eat.» No, it was my review which caught your attention. Thank you for the honor. I still don’t understand what was meant by your comment«the „Nagasaki“ style one star reviews on Unilocal» Since 1) I have only written 1 one star review on Unilocal 2) I only wrote one review about your establishment. So by definition ‘reviews’ shouldn’t be plural. But what would I know, none of that is truly«revalent» to what is going on here. Thank you for taking your time to personally attack me. Unilocal is a platform on this dear internet, to which users can post their experiences/reviews for restaurants, shopping, nightlife, entertainment, services and more. In my review of your restaurant, although critical, I recounted my last experience at Parson Jack’s. This isn’t me trying to «justify some deep seeded need for revalence» in my life. This is a customer providing feedback. If you would turn to the internet, and read reviews about Parson Jack’s throughout the years,(since Unilocal isn’t the only platform in which people can do this) you will find a common theme among the bad reviews. Shouldn’t you want the best for your customers? Keep them coming back for more because Parson Jack’s stands out against the rest? Rather than letting them settle for mediocre service/treatment? Parson Jack’s is just a convenience store of restaurants, it’s good because it’s close by. But that’s it! The moment there is another local restaurant on Glen McConnell Parkway,(an ounce of competition)… Well hopefully competition leads to you reevaluating you managerial skills and finally opening your eyes to what has been lacking in your restaurant. Which of course is only an assumption, but after your comment crafted to personally attacking me, I can only imagine the sort of person you are.

I have been here before, but it has been awhile. I enjoyed a beautiful afternoon on the outside patio with a friend and dog. What a treat for the dogs! They can play in the fenced in area, and they even get treats! The bottomless mimosas were just right. For food, we tried the zucchini sticks which were perfectly fried, and absolutely delicious. We then had burgers. Mine had pepper jack cheese, grilled onions and mushrooms. This was one of the best burgers that I have eaten in a long time! The burger was juicy and full of flavor. The burger comes topped with fried onions. In addition, chips and salsa come as a side. You can upgrade for fries or sweet potato fries. I will definitely return to Parson Jack’s for drinks/dinner and I would love to try the brunch!

Amazing atmosphere and food ! Pet friendly on the patio. Great story behind the Parson Jacks name, and they donate all the money on the ceiling to animal friendly charities. Definitely try the fried zucchini app.

We wanted to eat in Charleston for lunch. We got to the downtown area about 1 pm, prime time lunch time and there was no place without a 45 minute or more wait. So we decided to go on and find someplace that wasn’t in the downtown area. I remember that we got fried pickles and I got a chicken– ranch wrap and my girlfriend got a salad. I had to say that it wasn’t very memorable, not bad, but just OK. They have an outdoor seating area for you to sit with your dog, and you can order something for them as well.

There for the first time just recently after having it recommended by my sister and parents, I agree with their assessment. It’s a terrific choice for an offbeat local restaurant/bar. What for sure sets it apart from other nearby restaurants is their tradition of encouraging customers to donate to a local animal shelter by signing a dollar bill with their pet’s name and then having those bills pinned up on the ceiling. It’s a unique take on raising money for a worthwhile cause. While there, I ordered a cocktail(Cosmopolitan I believe) which was ok but nothing special. Sitting at the bar was fun. The bartendress was attentive and actually brought my food in surprisingly short order. The Pork Quesadilla that I ordered was absolutely delicious. Three different BBQ dipping sauces accompanied it(two of which I really liked). I’ll definitely go back there again. I hear they have a great Sunday brunch.

We really liked the place. Fairly typical sports bar with lots of TVs, lots of seating and good service to boot. Read the story of Parson Jack on the back cover of the menu and you’ll see why the place is devoted to dog lovers. Again, typical bar food, but lots of choices that are all nicely priced and tasty. A number of very good beers on tap. The only negative was the sweet potato fries were thin and over done. There is also an outside seating area that is fenced to bring your dog and let him/her mingle with other dogs. Will definitely stop in again.

We went back to Parson Jack’s tonight, and it’s still a 4 star restaurant. All of us loved our food but the service is a little lacking. I almost wonder if they have high turnover or something? The dollar bills are still all over the ceiling and our guests were really amused by that. It took forever for us to get our food tonight, despite having orders that weren’t complicated and the restaurant wasn’t crowded(we went the day before Thanksgiving). The food is delicious and great for the price. Portions are large and I love the veggie burger– the patty is crispy and the sauteed peppers and zucchini on it are great! We all love the food, but the service truly keeps it from being a 5 star sports bar/restaurant.
