In Charleston and looking for somewhere to eat. I I find this little Vietnamese place on Unilocal.I’m thinking you can’t ever go wrong with Vietnamese food! I ordered the Vietnamese egg rolls! I love wrapping them in the lettuce with the basil leaves and lettuce. Then the pork fried noodles. Spicy, well I asked for it spicy! Sooo yummy! The staff is so kind and helpful. Inexpensive in price but not in taste! Plus the portions are huge! I couldn’t even eat a quarter of it.

This is another great small gem of a restaurant. It maybe small but the staff is warm and friendly and the homecooked Vietnamese food is great. I like Phở and the Bun Dac Biet or the crispy fried chickedn

Lots of menu choices as well as plenty for vegetarians. I love the big selection of condiments on the table so you can spice your own meal. 3 stars as its a little on the pricey side given the cost of ingredients and the ambiance(or lack thereof) leaves much to be desired.

Wow. Such great phở. The best fried rice I’ve ever had. Excellent service. Food time to table was very fast. Will definitely be back. Even with a 25 min drive from Mt. P.

Soooo… cant wait to try this place again. I rarely do fast food, so I find a little secret pleasure in ordering food by the the #. «Can I get a # 22?»(shivers…) lol I ordered the Mi(a seaweed broth) Ga Quay to go. Roasted chicken in a seaweed broth and egg noodles(or rice noodles if you prefer). The folks behind the counter were genuine, friendly and welcoming. When I was sitting at the bar after I ordered, a young black kid, maybe 16 or 17 walks in, and the cashier behind the counter looked a bit alarmed. He said that he wanted to speak with who I presume is the owner, and that he knew he was coming. She goes to the back, I hear her tell someone that someone is out there looking for him. He comes out, and he is all«Hey! Good to see ya!» As the young man is about to leave, who I presume is the wife comes out, and is equally as happy to see him, and offers him some food. «You want some fried rice? You want this or that?» lol… He may have done some work for them or something, but honestly, that warmed me up to this place quick. Got my meal at home, and in the togo box is what looks like fried chicken, jalapenos, peppers, bean sprouts and the rice noodles along with a healthy healthy supply of seaweed broth. The broth wasn’t too salty. For what I thought was fried chicken, it actually came off the bone quite nicely. It was SO much food, and I ate every bit of it. I cant wait to go back.

First of all, upon entering this restaurant for the first time I was really pleased with the comforting aroma. I often feel that when you follow your nose you can not go wrong. I was a little unsure of what to order. I came in for a quick lunch and was hoping there might be something lunch-sized to say the least, but it seems like the lunch vs dinner menu is one in the same. I wanted to keep things a little on the light side, but didn’t really see any options that would not have been full sized entrees. I decided to try a fried rice noodle dish with roast pork. I was very pleased with what I was served, and love the big tray of condiments for my use(hello, chili paste). I do feel the need to get back in here for some phở, which seems to be the specialty. But for an initial impression — good food with some potential though a little pricey(just about everything is $ 10 – 12, which may be relatively low for dinner I felt a little steep for lunch).

This is a popular lunch destination. We went here on a weekday and during the lunch hour it is packed. But that’s because the food is delicious and fresh. We had a mix-up with our orders, and one person in our company didn’t get served until 20 minutes after the rest of us because they forgot to make his order. I hope that’s a fluke, because it seemed like a nice lunch spot.

I ordered around 7:50 and the place was closing at 8:30. They person on the phone asked to come in 10 minutes which didn’t make much sense. I got there in about 15 minutes and I saw the place completely empty. I guess they were closing early, which is okay and up to them. What I wasn’t happy was it seemed the chefs and the ingredients were very lackluster. They gave me no hoison sauce or chlii packets to go for my Phở. The vegetables looked very old… like 3 days old. The spring rolls were falling apart. I am never coming back here, and I don’t understand how they have a 4 star rating.

It’s a great place to have a meal, with the family, the co worker, or even a the future mrs. They serve fresh made phở, noodles and rice dishes. You get a large sized portion. Yet never cost is never that much. The neighborhood looks a little rough, but don’t let that scare you away from this hidden local gem. Youll sure to love it!

YUM! After picking my husband off at the airport we decided to take a chance and stop here for dinner. Despite them closing in 30 min they still let us order and it was definitely the best Vietnamese we’ve had in Charleston!!! I’ve been hunting for spring rolls like these and they did not disappoint. Fresh herbs with pork and shrimp — amazing. We got the meatball phở which I didn’t even bother to eat because the special fried noodles were so good. They did rush us out for sure(even though we left before closing time) but I don’t blame them. Next time we come to the airport Were going to use it as an excuse to get takeout. The atmosphere isn’t much but who cares when the food is this tasty.

Super fun small place. I love this restaurant. Service is amazing with a smile. Food is delicious and comes in large portions. Price is worth the drive. Will come back often and hungry as well you should. Any way you wander through the menu will find yourself in yum yum heaven

I was invited to lunch one day to this little gem. It is very close to work, but I had never been! Don’t let the look of the restaurant fool you, this place is great! Pros: Everything on the menu sounds incredible and it looks great, too! While I was trying to decide on my meal, I kept looking up at other guests’ choices and asking, «what is that???» «WHAT is THAT!?» The staff at this place is great – they know just when to come to your table and even when it got busy, they didn’t seem overwhelmed. Reasonable prices. I was very satisfied with the amount of food I was served – not too full, and not still hungry after my meal. Cons: Not very inviting from the street. I think if they updated the outside, they might get more business from those just driving by looking for a place to eat. Rather small restaurant – if you go for lunch during the week you could be waiting for a while. The parking lot can get very crowded.

I’m so happy we found this restaurant. The staff is friendly and helpful, they’re super fast with the food, and are always smiling and happy. The Phở here is outstanding. I’ve tried it all, but the meatball phone is my favorite. Don’t just go for the Phở, though. The crispy chicken is out of this world with flavor, their egg noodle soup with wontons is perfect on a cold, wet day, their Currys are flavorful without a lot of spice(unless you ask for it), even their basic fried rice dishes are some of the best I’ve ever had. And on a hot day, their cold rice dishes with the hot cooked beef or pork are just fantastic. One last thing, if you have a cold or the flu, feeling awful in whatever way, they do offer take out and the Phở just might do the trick. I get some everything I feel sick and the next day I start feeling human again. I don’t know if it’s actually something in the broth that makes me better, or just the idea that it does, but I sware it works.

I am so glad I finally got in to Phuong. This is exactly what I was looking for when seeking traditional Vietnamese food. I got the Vietnamese egg roll, thinking I was getting a spring roll and not really paying attention, so when they came out in a light and crispy battered roll of deliciousness with fish sauce, I didn’t say a word! It must have been divine intervention! In fact, the owner came over and showed me how to eat it properly, which I appreciated very much. I also got the vermicelli(bun thit ga) with grilled chicken. Not only were the noodles perfect, the chicken was the best! Everything was fresh and delicious. This place has a big parking lot, but it gets packed at lunch time. The service is great and although it’s a bit pricier than my old digs in Philly, I can understand why since it’s the only Vietnamese place around. I’ll happily pay $ 10 for lunch again.

I’m not a huge fan of this place. I’m Vietnamese and I cook Vietnamese cuisine all my life, this is not my choice. Since there is a lack in Vietnamese restaurant around the Charleston area, it has left little to no competition. This place is over price and the portions are relatively small. Four scoops of your phở broth and it is literally all gone. I ordered the Bun Bo Hue, which is spicy beef noodle soup contains both beef and pork bones. There is no pork bones and less noodles, but it came to more than $ 10. They don’t have bowls that come in various sizes. So, you would just have to deal with eating a small bowl. Overall, my experience wasn’t awful, but i would pick a much suited place next time.

This place is amazing. If you looking for a good Phở place, look no further. I searched high and low, and It’s as authentic as your going to find in the chuck. I ordered the chicken Phở and fried egg rolls. Both were amazing. Service was excellent, quick, and delivered in a courted and friendly manner. This place is definitely on my rotation.
