I dropped in for lunch due to a glowing recommendation by a coworker so I just had to see what the fuss was about. I ordered a cold rice noodle dish with roast pork and lettuce. My overall impression was that the food tasted fresh, and was in need of a little seasoning. But overall, I was pleased and the cost was on the lower end. I’d love to come back and try some other items as they have a pretty intriguing menu with plenty of options.

I ordered«P1» which was the phở w/beef tenderloin, tripe, and meatballs and fried egg rolls. Everything was delicious and nothing was too spicy for my spice-wimp-self. I would have liked a little more thai basil. It was/is super cold in the seating area of the restaurant, so definitely bring a coat! Coworkers enjoyed the roasted duck phở(but didn’t really love the fact that there were bones in the duck still), the wonton soup, and the seafood phở. For dessert we hit up the market and I got some peanut mochi(not refrigerated) and it’s also delicious. Not too sweet.

This is the little café in H & L Asian Market. The surroundings are minimal to say the least. They produce a good version of phở if Phuong’s is too crowded or closed. Just know the phở dac biet will have ample amounts of tripe. The attached grocery means you can go shopping for your hard to find Asian ingredients.

Not bad for the local options. Decent, no frills phở served in the market. Good quantity and quick service. Slightly greasy phở, but not the worst I’ve had. I would come back for a quick bite if I’m in the area again with the craving. Gonna try the place up the street at some point.

This place has vastly improved over the past two years. Still not amazing, but solid and worth the drive to N Chas!

The Phở at this restaurant has gone way downhill. It’s now a dirty, grey/brown, overly salty broth not much better that the instant ramen you can buy for .59c from the attached Asian market. The service is also bad now. The young lady that seems to work as the only waitress is rude and doesn’t seem to really care. She doesn’t even bring the sprouts/lime/basil with the phở unless you ask multiple times and then«maybe» it will come along with some attitude. It’s too bad as it was so convenient to eat and get groceries from the same place. Now I’ll eat my phở from the Vietnamese restaurant up the road instead.

Surprisingly authentic. Located inside an Asian market. Like a small food court. I Had the appetizer sampler, the roasted duck noodle soup. The soup is tasty. Large portion. Good price. Highly recommended.

Good Phở located inside H&L market. Not amazing, but a solid choice for lunch.

Phoking delicious. You ain’t coming here for the atmosphere, but the phở is pretty damn good. I’ve had the duck and the beef and been really happy both times. The duck was very dark, gamey, but still with a nice crispy thin. The cut wasn’t huge, but good flavor. Seemed like a thigh piece, definitely with the bones ‘included.’ The spine too, in fact. But that doesn’t freak me out. Great broth, well seasoned, and with your standard accoutrement: bean sprout, fresh chili and cilantro, basil and lime. DIY fish sauce, sriracha, and hosin. I usually opt for all of the above. The beef phở is really really good as well, including paper thin slices of rare beef and also some thin cuts of fatty tissue and some really thin sliced tripe. Be aware, there is TRIPE in that there soup. And I’m into that, too. Service is always really friendly, no frills at this pay-at-the-register type place, attached to the sprawling Asian Market. Also be advised, several times I’ve been in, the A/C was fuh-reezing. Love it here, will always go back.

This place has changed ownership and cooks since last time I came here. I normally go to their location at Phuong Vietnamese down the street but they were closed so I came back here. No change on the inside. The spring roll was good especially when you get two of them. My pork chop was fried. I was not expecting it to be that way. Normally it’s grilled. It wasn’t bad just not what I was expecting. I actually tried my Mom’s Fried Noodle w/Shrimp. It wasn’t as flavorful as it has been before but it want bad. I actually liked it. My mother on the other hand didn’t.

This place always hits the spot for me. I was craving soup to warm me up and was not disappointed. I will say we were not a big fan of Vietnamese Egg Rolls, can’t say they were bad as we’ve never had them before.

Second Phở place now i’ve been to in North Charleston. I was suprised that my colleagues took me here since phở seems like a pretty rare find in the area, but alas they said it was ood, and it was not too bad. Compared to Hibachi Grill, where I had found myself the day before, this place definitely has better content in their phở. I got P1, the phở with rare beef, flank, tendon, and tripe. I asked for it without the rare beef, and it was perfect. I love the chewiness and crunchiness of the flank and the tendon. I even enjoyed the trip, which I normally don’t. The broth itself wasn’t as good as Hibachi Grill(not to say that HG was that great), but it was alright and not that much to complain about. There are no small medium large, just one size fits all. Giant portion I couldnt finish for $ 9. CASHONLY, which kinda stinks. Inside an oriental supermarket — looks kinda dirty. It’s not bad; i’d come back.
