4 star because its a nice place. I totally thought it was about pies not pizza lol. But the pizza was great with the wine that i got the chardonnay white wine. We did have a 45 minute wait which did suck but we went to bar 101 down the street while we waited. The service was great

It’s lunch time. Your co-workers and you are starving. Your boss only gives you an hour to eat your lunch. You ask yourself, «where can we get some grub?» The answer, Pies and Pints. Pies has some great tasting food. The name speaks for itself in which it offers several different pies(a.k.a., pizzas). However, they also offer monster sized salads for you health conscious minds, and great sandwiches for you gluten lovers. For those who like to wash down their food with some«adult» beverages, don’t fret, Pies got you got covered. Pies always seems to have a crowd, but never too busy that you’ll be having to wait. So stop on by, grab a seat, forgot the troubles of the world, and gorge.

I really, really, really wanted to like this restaurant. Since I moved back from my 7 yrs in Nashville, I need a really great pizza location… We went in on Saturday about 530pm, and I really liked the décor of the restaurant. The lady that seated us was friendly enough, but I asked for a different seat but they declined us. I just wanted something larger than the 2 seater. I was not happy about that. I asked for soda but they brought Tony’s PBR draft but I had to ask twice for my coca cola. Second strike!!! We placed our food order of a classic small pizza with pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, onions s and banana peppers… it came rather quickly. I asked for the Free sticker that the check in with offered but they never brought it. strike 3 on their customer service… I like the décor, the food was okay NOTHING to get excited about but their customer service was a big red negative impact on my visit there…

The waitress is rude, and the chairs are broken, not a good place to eat. Very disappointed

This was the first restaurant I ever ate at when moving to West Virginia and I keep coming back. This is one of the best restaurants in Charleston and my in-laws love it as well. If you love pizza you will definitely love this place. I can’t speak to the beer, but the draft root beer is a family favorite!

Came here after a 6-hour drive from DC and just before the Friday lunch rush hit — the black bean pizza with jalapenos had just the right amount of kick to fuel me for the additional 3-hour drive to Lexington. No complaints; 10⁄10 recommend — do not pass GO, collect pizza.

Definitely a treat when I come in to visit family! I used to go to the Fayetteville one when I was local. Unfortunately I think that one still wins, but this one is a close second!

Very Tasty! I’m on the road for business so could not drink, but the draft selection looks great. There was a lot of variety in the dinner menu too, and sitting next to where the wait staff picked up food, I wanted all of it. My Steak and Mushroom Pizza was on point though. A very good choice with Caramelized Onions and Horseradish Sauce, it made me want to do my best Homer Simpson impression.

It seems to be the most popular restaurant in town, based on the amount of reviews here in Unilocal. The pizza was good and the crust was much better than I expected. The pizzas arrive in reasonable time and piping hot from the kitchen. The micro beers from WV, KY, and OR were the only choices available for drafts. Bottled beers included beers from Europe and domestics. The small bar is located at the entrance of the restaurant. The restaurant is narrow and small. Happy hour offerings aren’t that great, $ 1 and $ 2 discounts on certain drinks and dishes, respectively. The restaurant is located in the heart of downtown’s entertainment hub, where there are many other bars and restaurants. The staff was very accommodating.

My fellow Unilocalers did not disappoint for recommendations again. This is an awesome local spot off the beaten path of tourists. This spot and the area it’s in made me see Charleston in a new light. It looks like such a dirty run down place from the highway but what you don’t see is the other side of the city. Kanawha ave that runs alongside the river is breathtaking and runs right by the Capitol building which is actually way cooler in person. The pizza is some of the best I have had in my life. Fresh and high quality ingredients. The crust is lovely, even my fiancé ate his crust and he NEVER eats crust.

Didn’t really know what to expect. Coming from the NY/NJ area, I have a certain expectation of how pizza should be. I wasn’t sure I could trust reviews since I was misled for dinner just the night prior at a different restaurant. The restaurant was packed for lunch, and I was pleased to see that. I got grape pizza and it didn’t disappoint. I might’ve liked the Gorgonzola to be creamier and it had a little more rosemary than I prefer, but overall it was good, exceeding my expectation. My boys got pepperoni and sausage and they were happy as well. Great little place!

I really enjoy pies and pints. I try to eat here every time I go to Charleston. It’s one of my favorite places to eat in town. Great atmosphere and great food. I have yet to have a pizza there that I didn’t like. My favorite is the Sriracha shrimp pizza. They also have a really nice beer selection. Bar is always crowded which can be both good and bad.

Great food. Great beer. Great place. Pies & Pints pairs great pizza with a great beer and wine selection. They have a lot of local beer on the menu and can recommend a good one to you depending on what type you like. The food is pretty awesome as well. My favorite is the shrimp sriracha. If you like shrimp, you have to try it. I’ve had a few other pies from there and haven’t been disappointed. If you’re in Charleston and ask where to eat, I’m sure Pies & Pints will be one of the recommendations. Great spot.

Must visit if your in town on business. Great location(kinda tight seating area though), very good food, locally generated, creative menu, great drink selection, very affordable, and overall good experience. Grilled wings are very good and highly recommended(sauce is perfect for the style of wing), salads are fresh and HUGE, garlic bread is well worth the few bucks charged and, of course, the pizzas are beyond solid(if it’s JUST pizza your after Lola’s and Grazianios are just as good). I think the place will grow into a larger chain but hopefully it will stay grounded with quality ingredients and good beers. Oh if your flying solo they do offer(during certain times) pizza by the slice — usually a pepperoni slice and the other option changes often — this is good option to avoid over stuffing yourself or wasting money.

Stopped by while on Spring Break. The place was crowded –in a good way– so we grabbed a take-out pizza(pepperoni and sausage) and ate in a near-by park. Excellent crust, crisp without being hard and great sauce –not too sweet. They offer lots of toppings, so lots of choices. I wasn’t a big fan of the sausage –it was the crumbly variety– but otherwise, no complaints.

Dined here on my way back from an interview in Huntington. This place is famous for a reason: great food, friendly service, and a classy place to get the king of all foods: pizza! Parking here was challenging, though that was more due to my ignorance of the area than anything else. The meters nearby will only cover you for short periods of time(some max out at around 45 minutes!), though there is a free multistory parking lot two blocks north of this place with no parking time limits. Entering Pies & Pints, you quickly see the trendy-looking interior and bar. The hostess said it would be about 30 minutes(we were there around lunchtime, no surprise there) and we were told we’d be texted when a table was ready(so much better than those buzzer things that you’re not allowed to walk too far with). We checked out a consignment shop across the street and then were texted that our table was ready(seemed to be less than half an hour, so that’s cool). We were quickly seated and then greeted by our server, a pleasant gentleman who knew the menu quite well. While their specials sounded good, we opted for a create-your-own large pizza. We were not disappointed: in addition to being quite large(as I’m sure you can tell from all the pics for this page!), it was flavorful and the crust was just the right amount of crunch without being burnt. We were both quickly full with leftovers to spare, and the price was fairly reasonable for being such a high-profile establishment. I even got a nifty sticker as a check-in reward!(You can pick up your sticker from the bar, FYI.) In summary, this place is a great place for pizza aficionados and beer drinkers alike. I highly recommend it to anyone who happens to be even remotely close to Charleston. Overall: 5.0 stars — — — Pros: — Delicious pies, not burnt but just the right amount of crispy. — Lots of specialty pies, or design your own! — Did not have any beer, though their draft selection is impressive. — Service was great, peppy, and memorable. — Interior is quite attractive and trendy-looking. Need a fun date night? Come here! Cons: — Parking is a pain nearby, though if you’re willing to walk a bit, there is a free garage a few blocks north of here(minor side note: would not recommend walking there and back at night unless you’re with a group).

I went here with my cousins and Aunt and Uncle while visiting them in town and overall it was a good experience. The only bummer happened right off the bat. We called earlier that day for a reservation and it still somehow took about an hour to get seated. The saving grace and the reason I did’t knock off a star? That bar/beer selection at the entrance was amazing! I could’ve sampled it all evening! Once we got seated and ordered, it just got better from there. The place was lively and fairly loud and honestly reminded me of this place called Piece in Chicago which I absolutely love. They had nice, thin crispy pizza with a nice selection of toppings, big salads and everything else on the menu looked tasty. I would definitely go back here if we came back to visit again!

Whenever I have someone visiting me from out of town– Pies & Pints is the place to take them to. It was the first restaurant I ever been to in Charleston and it’s become such a staple in my life that I didn’t realize I didn’t review this place until now. A must try for their pies: *Sriracha Shrimp: Sriracha marinated shrimp, fresh garlic, red onions, fresh pineapple, scallions, basil, mint, cilantro & sriracha aioli. MYABSOLUTEFAVORITE! All of the toppings mesh so well together and really compliments the sriracha aioli sauce. *Chicken Gouda: Marinated grilled chicken, applewood smoked bacon, smoked Gouda, red onions, chipotle crema & scallions. The red onions & scallions does an excellent job preventing the pizza from being too«heavy». Super delicious. Honorable mentions: Steak & Mushroom, Chipotle chicken, Mushroom Garlic: They’re delicious, but it’s hard to go past 2 slices. Don’t get me wrong– they’re jam-packed with flavor & incredibly tasty, but a bit heavy for me. Another honorable mention is for their Char Grilled Hot Wings appetizer. Their rub is finger-licking good, but I feel like they overly char their hot wings. Almost always the wings were char-burnt and I had to peel off the skin to eat what little was left of the meat. I’m not a beer expert so I’ll forego the review on their brews– but friends always enjoy their drinks.
