Pizza Hut

With all the unique and delicious restaurants we have around this area… does anybody even think about Pizza Hut anymore? I know I sure don’t! It’s also not exactly located in the best spot being on the corner of Folly and Camp Roads, lots of traffic, lots of difficult turns.
The reason we ended up eating here is because the little guy won a reading certificate in school that was good for a free personal pan pizza.
The boys sure loved the fact that we had the whole place to ourselves! While it seemrd like they had plenty of time to clean, given my previous statement, things were a little on the dirty side, especially our table. The waiter did come over with a rag to halfway wipe it down, but I finished it up.
I have nothing negative to say about the food, nor the service! It was Pizza Hut pizza, just the way I remember it. And the guy working there was very nice and attentive to us. He even gave the boys a toy out of the gumball machines on our way out.
I do have to mention the music, just because it was so interesting. It was very zen like and sounded like something you would hear while getting a massage. The boys, ages 3 and 5, kept mentioning how horrible it was. –I found it kind of entertaining! ;) —
I have seen the workers twirling signs out front during the summer. Perhaps that’s their busy time, or perhaps we just went on a slow day.
Would I recommend this Pizza Hut? (Kinda hard to say based on 3 stars alone…) Maaaaybe, but if it had been up to me I totally would’ve said the pizza voucher was good for somewhere else too. He never would have known… he’s not quite at that reading level yet ;)

Yum! Brands Inc. What are you thinking? Close this shell of a Pizza Hut down now!
We were coming back from Folly Beach and thought that we would try this Pizza Hut for old times sake. When we walked in, the woman at the counter looked shocked to see real, live people walking in. We sat down in the big, empty restaurant and asked for some water. The server told us that they DID NOT HAVE ANY WATER! What? We then ordered pizza and a salad. THEY DID NOT HAVE ANY SALAD! Our pizza came out about a half hour later and it tasted fine.
We never did see anyone else come into this restaurant. The light was out over our table. Our server was clueless. When it became apparent that our server was never going to come back to ask how we were doing or bring us our check, we walked to the register and flagged someone in the back over to HELP US PAY.
So disappointing. Yum! Brands Inc. What are you thinking?

I went to pick up the pizza and it was ready almost on time but did have a short wait. I thanked my lucky stars that I did not eat in after sitting in the restaurant area while waiting. Just a poorly kept, dated place. I was a little grossed out. I guess Pizza Huts do not get much sit down customers any more and if they keep their places this badly I know why. The pizza was only mediocre. Really. Kind of hard to mess up pizza but the Triple Cheese specialty pizza just did not taste good. And I love cheese. I would say the ingredients used were well below par, especially the tomatoes I added. They looked white, or a gross pinkish color instead of vibrant red.
I hate to bash them but hard to find something good to say. I grew up a huge PH fan. Hope they get their act together or I am guessing this location will soon be gone.
