I hate demoting(de-starring?) a review, but the last few times I’ve visited Roly Poly, it just wasn’t the same quality I got a few years ago when I moved down and frequented it more. I’m not sure if I’ve visited the restaurant on the wrong day or if I’ve been more impressed but other local eateries, but the portions and overall quality of food just aren’t as good as they used to be. The staff also seems rushed– Roly Poly does catering, deliveries, and call-in orders, so they’re probably swamped! I went in today and tried the spa salad(no chicken). It was pretty small and didn’t have a ton of toppings. This is the first salad I’ve tried, and the wraps were always good, so maybe the salads just need work? The restaurant itself still has a fun vibe and offers a lot of healthy, light options for lunch. It’s still a solid choice for a quick lunch near the mall, but it probably wouldn’t be my first choice anymore.

Worst food I’ve had in a long time. My mother and I both got the buffalo chicken salad and I understand as avacados roped they can get brown spots. These were beyond rotten and slimy. I can’t believe the person preparing this thought this was suitable to sell!

I like that you can order your lunch online and the deliver is really quick! I’ve had the salads and hot wraps and it was all delicious!

This is a great wrap place. We had all ages with us and all enjoyed. The wraps are the perfect size and they all taste fresh. It’s a nice quiet place to eat in also. The place was also very clean.

I had not heard of Roly Poly until I saw it was one of the Charleston Deals. I bought the deal(2 whole sandwiches, 2 drinks and 2 chips) to be able to go and try it with my husband. I liked it the first time and went back to buy another deal! The food was pretty good. The ingredeints were fresh, although I do have to admit, I felt as though their chicken was already cooked and then frozen until it needed to be made into a sandwich. It was overly seasoned with pepper, which I did not enjoy. My husband has enjoyed both sandwiches he has eaten there. I enjoyed a cold sandwich the first time and a hot sandwich the second. I will most likely stick to the cold sandwiches, as the hot ones leak a lot of liquid and get super soggy as they sit in the bowl. I will certainly go back and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quick, healthy meal.

We had been wanting to try this place for awhile. The Cuban wrap that I got was pretty good. It’s a wrap so it’s never going to get great for me but I was pleasantly surprised. It was grilled and warmed just enough to have all the ingredients toasty warm. I also had the soup which was very very hot. It was Cream of Broccoli. It was easier to eat and enjoy after I had finished my wrap. I’m not a fan of wraps. I never jumped into the whole bandwagon. I just feel like it’s a different way to make a burrito. There’s just something about the way the tortilla sticks to both sides of my teeth that get to me but I did enjoy this experience.

I love Roly Poly. My love affair started around the year 2001 in State College, PA when I lived directly above a Roly Poly location. I’d call down and order my favorite, the Thanksgiving roll, which is what it sounds like, and walk down the stairs to get it. I was bummed when I moved and only experienced Roly Poly once in the iterim, in Dayton, Ohio around 2005. Anyway, fast forward to 2012, and I couldn’t have been more pleased to have a Roly Poly in Charleston. I visit often, and I usually get the same thing: the spinach popper, which is the best thing you can eat for lunch for under 400 calories. Adding to the excellence of this wrap is the fact that the folks at Roly Poly nail it every damn time. Business partners Tim and Derek are always in the store making sure things are in tip top shape. The store is immaculately clean at all times, always perfectly-stocked, and Tim and Derek are friendly, welcoming co-owners. So check it out. It might seem to be just another lunch place, but I’m sure you will be pleased with Roly Poly. The folks who work there make it a special little spot — go ahead and support their business and get yourself a tasty sandwich thing while you’re at it.
