The three and a half star rating on this joint is generous. I’ve been here a couple times for lunch and both times have been really Meh. Pros: — the décor is unique — they have a lot of space — there’s enough variety on the menu that nearly anyone can find something to eat on it — the food is not moldy — parking Cons: — expensive. Both of my lunches have been $ 20+ without booze, and they were vegetarian. and $ 2.50 for soda water?! Come on. Don’t be so cheap when you are charging me $ 8 for a small crock of soup. — The service is really poor. Both times, I had to ask repeatedly for things the waitress forgot, and the services was super slow. Once it was dead, and the other time it was busy. — The first time I went, their tap system was broken and they were out of all the other beer I tried to order, 3 or 4 of them. They had just opened for lunch. Lame. — even when I order the«healthy» things on the menu, my body feels like I ate a bunch of grease. Their hummus is really tasty but somehow it is still heavy. Also, just because I searched Unilocal for this info before going and didn’t find it: The vegetarian options that caught my eye are: Hummus small plate(tasty, not enough for a meal by itself), large sharing vegetable plate(mostly pickled, would be a weird meal and it is HUGE), the Indian curry(have not tried but co-worker likes it), a couple of salads, and maybe the French onion soup if you count vegetarian as not having chunks of meat in it. I bet it is made with beef broth though. I may end up having to go back because my co-workers will force me there but I’ll try hard not to. With so many other dining options in Charleston that are either better quality for the same price, or same food for much less, there’s just no reason to go back here.

I went today because I saw an ad for a limited time only $ 5.00 for an 80z burger w/fries or coleslaw boasting best burger in town! Well I’m here to tell you, they don’t lie. Portions were generous and delicious, even the cole slaw which we opted for was really good, crisp and plentiful. We saw some phenomenal looking salads and soups coming out too, we’ll be back soon.

This place is incredibly average. Usually the averageness of this locale would warrant 3 stars, but the quality combined with the high price(~$ 15 – 20) forced me to give it 2 stars. Every time I’ve come here I’ve ordered something that I have had either cheaper somewhere else or much, much better for the same price elsewhere. The mac n cheese is very good, but, again, $ 13 is over twice as much for the same thing at other restaurants. The necessity to drive is another con of this restaurant. A really great thing about RCC is the service. They are always so nice and will go out of their way to make you feel cared for. The restaurant’s lack of quality is due to management, not their workers. Sure, Bill Murray is a big draw to the restaurant, but I don’t think it is worth the price.

This place is so cool! I went with friends for dinner and loved the décor as soon as I walked in. It definitely has a unique vibe going on and set itself apart from the typical gourmet fancy places downtown. Though some nearby areas can be a little sketchy looking(especially in the dark), there’s a nice big parking lot(many points for that!!) and it’s very well kept up– I wouldn’t let the cons of the surrounding area deter anyone. The service was excellent right off the bat. Our waters never went empty and the waitress was so speedy in getting anything we needed. Our food came out really quickly(we had all orders burgers and sandwiches). I don’t know if this was solely because it was a weeknight but it certainly wasn’t dead, so I’m going to give them point for just having plain old good service. I got the veggie burger which was excellent– it was nice and huge and NOT one of those frozen veggie patties!!! The sauce was a little sparse but I just asked for some more on the side and it was brought right out. The fries are the very thin kind(shoestring fries, I believe) and I liked them a lot(it’s a nice change of pace). And they give you plenty. So my dinner was plenty filling(and I arrived hungry). There’s nothing worse than getting small portions and I was not disappointed! The menu is really awesome in terms of variety with at least a handful of vegetarian options. We were all super full form the portions and couldn’t try dessert. I actually can’t wait to go again– something rare since there are so many dining options in Charleston. I would recommend it without reservations!

If you need a place to ALWAYS deliver a superb burger, this is your spot. Not to mention the class they deliver with the rest of the menu. You’ll be hard tasked with finding a option not worth trying on this menu. Nice to get away from the downtown Charleston bustle too!

The food is always good. I have had brunch, lunch and dinner here! I have had their burger, which is delicious and served a perfect medium. Today I got the Eggs Benedict! I am stuffed like a tick and very satisfied! My friend got the Sausage and Cheddar Omelet and said it was amazing!

We went for happy hour on Monday, they offer a deal on their«build your own burger.» Here are my pros for RCC. 1. Parking is way easier than downtown. 2. It has a nice vibe, an industrial vintage vibe. I like a space and I enjoy this space. Industrial lights, marble bar, lots of warm wood. 3. The bartender was fun, helpful and engaged with us. I appreciate a bartender that makes the night more fun and can make good drinks. 4. The build your own burger was solid. I added sauteed mushrooms for 50 cents, while the hubs went big and added candied bacon and a fried egg, which was $ 2 and $ 1 upcharge. My only con holding it back from 5 stars… I ordered the burger medium and it was a good bit past medium. I thought it was a solid 4 star burger though and the fries were good too… they are the skinny fries, which I prefer.

Food was pretty good. They have Huevos Rancheros, which I love. We shared poutine appetizer, which was good, but my canadian friends would not consider it «poutine». The service, however, was not very good. Place was not very busy, but there is either not enough staff, or the ones they have seem to be always running behind.

We met my girlfriends parents here for brunch and they knocked it out of the park! I had the special of the day which was a country fried steak with 2 eggs and a biscuit and hash browns for like 12 bucks! She had the corned beef hash and it was delicious too! Everyone enjoyed their food and service was top notch. The décor and design of the dining room was cool and fun to check out. They also have a screened in outdoor patio with heaters so you can sit out there during any season. Ill certainly be back here whenever I have a chance!

I love all that this place has to offer. We met my parents for their brunch… OMG! I had no idea. We were there when they opened at 10 am on a Saturday morning. They had never been to the restaurant before, but I have been here quite a few times at night/happy hour and it has always been wonderful. I am so glad we tried the brunch. It is definitely on the repeat list. The prices are a little hefty, but the portions are large. The corned beef hash is made inhouse and is the best thing I have tasted here so far. The side of bacon was also very good. I dug right in and forgot to get a pic unfortunately. The outside porch has plastic and heaters now, although we chose to sit inside on this visit. The porch is very relaxing and is usually my choice when it is not 32 degrees outside. Inside is dark with solid wood seating, and lends itself to an intimate experience. There is a private parking lot on-site which is very convenient. There is usually an attendant helping with parking management as well. There isn’t much in this area of town, so it’s really a destination spot. I suggest you try the happy hour. They have an interesting twist on a Moscow Mule that is most refreshing on a warm day.

Ideal location when you work downtown and don’t feel like spending time trying to find parking. The restaurant has its own ample parking and at lunch there was someone employed to direct the parking too! Then there’s an overflow car park around the corner. Perfect! They have a new menu here and it’s much better than it was before. I had the grilled salmon and substituted the rice for scalloped potatoes. It was served with green snap peas. It was amazing. This was one of the pricier items on the menu but at $ 20, it was way below what could have been charged for the meal. Service was great. They do have a high turnover of servers and service has not always been great but yesterday, I was very impressed. Overall, I do recommend!

I struggled to give 2 stars. Dinner for 2 adults and 2 children with tip $ 170. Way overpriced for the quality of food. Tuna Tartare appetizer was smothered in sauces and the tuna got lost in the powerful flavors. Tuna Tartare needs to be just that tuna! Kids ordered steaks. Very poor quality. Could barely cut through it with a steak knife. Filled with fat and grizzle. $ 26??? You can get a filet for that price. One of worse steaks I have ever had. Wife had a burger. Ordered it medium and it came out well done. No flavor, no color and just plain bad for the $ 10+! How hard is it to cook a good burger? I had the fish tacos. It was drowned in coleslaw and the soft taco broke apart. More coleslaw than fish. Flavor was just ok but nothing special at all! 2 stars come from the good service, cold beers and kids loved the milkshakes. Also the music was loud, they sat us by the bar and it was just LOUD! Just don’t see us ever going back. We are new here and there are way to many other restaurants to seek out. Overall very disappointed!!!

Went with wife and kids for a Saturday afternoon lunch. Had wings, very tasty. Wife had BLT, top notch tomatoes, thick crispy bacon and great bread. Would order both again for sure. Kids had pancakes(2 Huge flapjacks) and Mac and cheese– also huge portion and very creamy. Kids loved them. Sat on porch, nice area and plenty of room. Would go back sure on date or with family.

I took my wife here for lunch today, something we don’t get to do very often without the kids, and I was craving a burger. She recommended the red-eye burger because it has a fried egg on it and some sriracha sauce for a bit of a kick, and also had candied bacon on it. I ordered it cooked medium, and it came out more well done that I prefer. If it wasn’t for the sauce on the burger it would’ve been rather dry. The egg was also not runny at all in the yolk, and part of the fun of having a fried egg on your burger is so that when you bite in, you get the richness of the goo throughout the burger. I’m sure I’ll give them a second chance, but it wasn’t a great first impression. On a funnier note, I had never thought to eat here before, because I truly thought it was a cab company and had no idea that food was served here. If you’re looking to hail a cab and hitch a ride around town, don’t call this place.

I went here after the Citadel Ring Ceremony with my son, and some of his classmates and families. They had reserved a section of the outdoor area. The weather was very nice, and the outdoor area is screened in, and was very welcoming. We sat at a table, had a waitress serve us food. We also had some drinks from the full bar. Food wise, I got the pu pu platter to share for appetizer. It was pretty good and had a wide range of appetizers on it. I also got an order of their homemade chips, with gravy. Those were very good. My son got a burger and his girl friend got wings. All the food was pretty good. They have a full bar, and several craft beers on tap. Specifically, they had Holy City Washout Wheat, and Hi-Wire IPA. My wife had a margerita that was pretty good. There aren’t many places to go in this section of Charleston, but I think this one is a good hang out spot if you find yourself near The Citadel, and you don’t want to fight the crowds and lines for getting into something in downtown Charleston.

A great burger place! I got the fish tacos, and like all of the other reviews here, they a great! I got to taste the Beef and Pastrami burger, which was very tasty. The fries were to die for, and the sweet tea was great. They have a few seats outside and the inside is very clean. Our waiter was friendly and very knowledgable. I will be coming back here! Also, their music play list is amazing. I don’t have a single bad thing about this place.

Pretty cool place. It was busy but it didn’t take that long to get a table, and we had a large group. They have a variety of cocktails and food. Several of us got the pu pu platter to share(Crab rangoons, bbq chicken wings, orange sesame pork belly, teriyaki beef skewers and tuna satay with dipping sauces) — it was really good! The pork belly was so delicious. It was a great place for drinks and a bite to eat and I will definitely go again.

I think Rutledge Cab Company is a pretty solid place to go for a bite with friends. I really like their covered patio seating. I’ve been a couple of times for brunch and just recently went for a working lunch. I got the Bleu Cheese Burger ordered medium with fries. It was juicy, messy, and actually cooked medium.(I’ve been other places DT that ask and when I order medium it comes out well done. If you’re going to do that to me, don’t even bother asking.) I really enjoyed it. Their fries were the thinner variety and kind of stuck to each other a bit, maybe from cooking a little too long or at the wrong temperature? Idk I’m not a fry expert. My boss had the build your own burger with cheese and candied bacon. He really enjoyed it and the fries. The service was really attentive and I don’t recall ever having problems the previous times I’ve been. Overall, I’d say Rutledge Cab Co is a good place to have a relaxed meal.

So, Rutledge Cab is only a few blocks from my house so it is very convenient and it is a big space so its good to take a larger group or a smaller group but if its busy the wait usually isnt too long. I recently went with a group of guys for brunch. I have been here before but they are constantly changing their menu it seems so I was able to order something I hadn’t tried or hadn’t even seen on their menu before. It was Sunday so they were doing $ 5 mimosas which I can’t argue with so that was good. I had the short rib hash wich has butternut squash, potatoes, peppers, onions, smoked chile sauce & poached eggs. The eggs were cooked perfectly which a lot of places can mess up easily. Other than that, I wasn’t very impressed. The hash did not have as much flavor as I had hoped. If/when I do come back, I will probably get a burger which is pretty good there but their breakfast seems eh. I feel like the prices are a little on the expensive side for what you get but that’s just me.

Came here with a few friends for lunch. Parking lot was packed! Obviously a popular spot on the upper side of town. Great building with inside /sunroom seating, cool community tables and a nice bar right when you walk in. Local beers on tap, fantastic bloody marys and a cool cocktail list to boot. We tried a number of items like the pupu platter, lobster rolls, burgers, and my son had a grilled cheese. The little house cut shoestring fries were awesome as was my red eye burger cooked perfectly mid rare. Bacon was thick with the perfect bite. The pork belly on the pupu real good and were the wings the rest of the items were a 3⁄5. Service was great overall.
