I discovered this café through Unilocal.I had the most wonderful, quick, and appropriately priced lunch($ 6 – 8). I had their hickory pork BBQ with potato salad and it was the best in the city. The most exquisite lunch I’ve had in Charleston under $ 10. I’m so happy I’ve discovered this new lunch spot.

We stopped here on a long road trip with our son and daughter. The menu is simple, casual food. The prices are on point for the location and style of food. We were very satisfied with the Turkey Pesto sandwich and Black Bean burger. Service was excellent and very friendly. Recommended for family stops. :D

So glad I trusted Swiftwater Café to handle my breakfast craving this morning. They were nice, friendly, and made me the best breakfast burrito I’ve ever had!

I was excited to visit this place, and as I stood in line to place my order I noticed signs all around the restaurant with awards Swiftwater had won for its hot dogs. I turned to the people behind me. «Have you been here before?» They nodded. «How are the hot dogs?» «Well,» the lady said in her West Virginia drawl, «Do ya get heartburn easy?» That was a good sign. I ordered the hot dog with everything, which was mustard, chili, onions, and slaw.(Don’t you dare visit West Virginia without getting a slaw dog from SOMEWHERE.) The chili was a bit spicy but was overwhelmed by the coleslaw. The buns were a big soggy, perhaps from the hot dogs or perhaps from the mustard. These hot dogs were okay. I have very refined hot dog tasters so my standards may admittedly be too high. I enjoyed these slaw dogs but I have had better. The restaurant itself was really cute, it was located in a great spot in downtown Charleston, the people were friendly, and the service was quick. But the hot dogs, which were why I visited here, were not quite as I had expected.

This is my favorite lunch spot in Charleston. I almost always grab a southwest chicken wrap from the case, but I will sometimes order chili, a barbecue, or the Italian sub. They do have crinkle fries, which I don’t like, but other sides are available. The brownies are pretty great.

Excellent place to grab lunch if you work in the nearby area. Good selection and I haven’t had anything there that I didn’t like. Not gourmet, but decent, solid food. Service is professional and quick.

Great hot dogs and very good, speedy service. The space is a little tight so you may want to plan on getting your order to go.

Hands down my favorite lunch spot in town. There is no replacement for fresh food made by great people. I’ve never had anything bad. The place is consistent, fast and friendly. It might not be the most creative menu, but it is by far the best in town because they care about the food they make, which makes everything better. I’ve eaten at after lunch place in Charleston and I would choose Swiftwater over them all

This is my favorite lunch spot when I want to grab a quick(swift!) bite alone. If I’m feeling gluttonous, I’ll go for the hot dog special and if not, they make a good salad too. Occasionally they offer hamburgers. The owner and staff are super nice and I’ve never had a bad experience. It’s not fancy, but it’s fast and it’s good.
