The staff was extremely courteous to us even though we came in just at closing time.

My friend and I stopped in here when walking around downtown the other day. I was telling her about running skirts and a few other accessories(she’s a new runner doing her second 5K in a few weeks, I’m pretty experienced– numerous 5Ks, 10Ks, a few half marathons). We just decided to walk in to look around a bit since we both share a love of running. They do have a pretty good selection of shoes there. I guess we don’t look enough like runners to get attention from the staff, because we didn’t get any. We looked around at shoes and other things and I was showing her a few things, and the staff didn’t bother to greet us, ask if we needed any help, or anything. The two girls were just talking among themselves the whole time as if we weren’t in the store. The shoes themselves aren’t marked with the model number, etc, only price, and it took me several times to get the worker’s attention to even ask about a particular shoe. My friend was rather turned off by the lack of service as well– not acknowledging people isn’t a great way to promote the sport. I love supporting local businesses but I’ve gotten much better service from other running shoe stores in the area who truly go «the extra mile».

This is a very small store clearly dedicated to nothing but running. The help was prompt, courteous, and simply amazing. This store is a prime example of why I LOVE to support local, small businesses. I will definitely go back any time that I need something they can help me with.

i felt this little running store was a dime a dozen style. nothing unique, no running clubs or over the top advice. not that i’d ever pass up a good assist on shoe fitting. that’s hard work, like rocket surgery.

This small store is devoted pretty much to all things running. Whether you’re just starting out and need guidance on finding the right shoe or someone with several marathons under your belt, The Extra Mile can provide you with everything you need. The staff is friendly and willing to answer any question, no matter how technical. There’s a good selection of shoes in different price ranges.
